Chapter 484: Chapter 222: Night Raid (Two-in-One Big Chapter)

After a moment of thought, one guard said to his companion, “Jeff, go and report to Lady Vinica immediately. She is a master in the field of birds and should know if there is any problem.”

“Alright, I’m on it,” the young guard named Jeff replied. The thought of the beautiful lady who could control the white seagulls warmed his heart, and he turned to report to her right away.

Actually, even without the young man’s report, Vinica had already encountered a fight in the backyard of the administrative hall with a Blood Feathered Horned Eagle chick named ‘Blood Feather’ and Storm Crows.

It was ‘Blood Feather’ who first noticed the sudden appearance of the Storm Crows around them. Although it was still a chick, as a naturally ferocious species, it had learned to fly the day before yesterday.

Thus, naturally, it considered the skies above the administrative hall where its master, Lord Reine, resided and even those above Fishing Port Town as its own territory.

Upon seeing so many Storm Crows invading, Blood Feather immediately launched an attack at one of the Storm Crows.

At first, Vinica didn’t notice anything amiss, thinking they were just some kind of crow or perhaps a mutated version.

It was not until Blood Feather decisively defeated a Storm Crow of similar size that the others quickly gathered more than ten Storm Crows, which instantly alarmed Vinica.

While enhancing Blood Feather’s defensive power with a Water Membrane Technique, she observed them more carefully and soon discovered something unusual about these crows.

Vinica found out that these crows were the rare Storm Crows, which did not have any habitat near the Meister County, nor in the entire Mingster Province.

The origin of the Storm Crows was Storm Gulf, located thousands of kilometers away from here.

Another point was, the expressions in the eyes of these Storm Crows seemed rigid, as if they were under some kind of control or surveillance witchcraft, which immediately put Vinica on alert.

The enemy was spying!

Almost without further thought, Vinica immediately ran to the training room because she knew that both Lord Reine and Lord Trevo were exchanging bow techniques there for the past few days.

In midair, empowered by the ‘Water Membrane Technique,’ Blood Feather fearlessly confronted the more than ten Storm Crows again, causing black feathers to frequently fall from the sky.

…

“Thump thump thump!”

The urgent knocking interrupted the bow technique lesson between Reine and Trevo.

The girl with twin ponytails quickly walked in, anxiously saying, “Lord Reine, Lord Trevo, you must come quickly. There is a Wizard Apprentice controlling Storm Crows to spy on us nearby.”

Hmm?

The two glanced at each other and immediately followed Vinica out of the training room.

As they walked, the girl quickly said:

“I just saw it, around the administrative hall, at least ten or more Storm Crows.”

“Storm Crows?” Trevo frowned, seemingly recalling something.

“They are often controlled by wizards for attacking and spying. This means there’s likely a third-level Wizard Apprentice specializing in negative energy nearby controlling these Storm Crows,” Vinica explained.

When the three reached the backyard of the administrative hall, Nathaniel also just arrived. They saw Blood Feather still engaged in a ‘battle’ with the hen-sized Storm Crows.

Although Blood Feather was at a disadvantage, it was not injured thanks to Vinica’s ‘Water Membrane Technique.’ It remained energetic, pecking and clawing at its opponents.

Upon seeing this, Reine noted in admiration that it truly was typical of the specialized combatant Blood Feathered Horned Eagle, a chick that had only come out of its eggshell a few days ago, yet already possessed such combat strength.

Trevo instinctively took his longbow from behind, ready to eliminate the group of Storm Crows.

Just as Trevo was about to draw an arrow and shoot, Reine stopped him, turned with a smile, and said, “Lord Trevo, as a master archer, perhaps stay on guard against the potential enemy nearby.”

“Leave these crows to me; it’s a good chance to test my recent archery training,” Reine added.

Upon hearing this, Trevo also felt that the potential enemy posed the greatest threat and promptly nodded, agreeing, “Alright!”

Reine quickly took a sharp arrow and aimed his bow at a Storm Crow assaulting ‘Blood Feather.’ With a ‘swish’ sound, the arrow instantly hit a hen-sized Storm Crow.

Seeing its master join the fray, ‘Blood Feather’ couldn’t help but crow loudly, its morale greatly boosted!

Following the successful attack, Reine’s hands moved like playing a string instrument, rapidly drawing arrows, nocking, and shooting, each movement fluid and graceful.

More crucially, through recent training, Reine had gained insight into predicting movements in archery, observing the flight trajectory of the Storm Crows just long enough to grasp it.

Meanwhile, the dozen Storm Crows had gathered together, attacking Blood Feather, creating ideal shooting conditions for Reine.

For a while, Reine’s arrows hardly missed.

“Swish! Swish! Swish!”

After seven or eight consecutive arrows, the Storm Crows finally realized that their numbers were dwindling!

Quickly, they became aware that someone on the ground was attacking them, and in a burst of instinctive, shrill crowing, a clamor arose.
