Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 291: Chapter 220: Isaac: The 3rd Member! Potter the Great Thief

From this latest outing, Shushu had come to deeply understand the importance of strength. With Isaac’s promotion to Tier Three, Shushu, who had once been able to provide some small measure of combat support, was now relegated to being a mere pet once more.

Although this kind of life was pretty sweet, as an ambitious Divine Spirit Rat, Shushu wasn’t content to stop there!

So, it was determined to seize every opportunity to increase its strength!

Meanwhile, the moment Isaac appeared, the High-level Mage waiting in the castle sensed his presence. She had just risen to her feet when the streak of Magic Power that was Isaac landed before her and materialized.

Just like Evans, this High-level Mage was stunned by Isaac’s shockingly youthful life force upon seeing him. She stared at him in a daze, only snapping out of it when Isaac extended his right hand.

”Master Fiona, my apologies for keeping you waiting,” Isaac said with a smile, his right hand still extended.

Fiona Morgan. Female. A rare Legendary Mage with two Fantasy Legends and one Self-Legend, proficient in Imaginary Number Magic and Transformation Magic. She possessed a great many Demon transformations and belonged to the extremely rare Transformation Stream within the transformation school of thought.

Typically, wizards of the transformation school only specialize in one or two—or even just a single—transformation. This conserves resources and allows them to focus their energy. After all, each new transformation requires learning an entirely new combat style; otherwise, simply possessing the form is useless.

But the Transformation Stream was different. Its practitioners cultivate a vast number of transformations. While they don’t master any single one, the sheer quantity allows them to handle a wider variety of situations. Every wizard of the Transformation Stream is a master tactician, completely unlike the brutes who specialize in a single transformation.

Except...

It was, however, completely useless.

Reality isn’t a game; there are no balancing mechanics. Some things are just plain overpowered, and the single-transformation path was a perfect example. Absolute numerical superiority crushes any and all flashy tricks!

More importantly, to achieve an equivalent level of combat power, the resources and energy required by the Transformation Stream far exceeded those needed to master a single transformation...

So, while the Transformation Stream was versatile, very few wizards chose to cultivate it. After all, wizards already possessed a comprehensive arsenal of methods and didn’t need to rely on transformations to be adaptable.

This just went to show that Fiona Morgan truly loved transformations. She was a true pervert! ℯ

This was also why she was proficient in Imaginary Number Magic.

Imaginary Number Magic was a school of Magic even rarer than the Transformation Stream—so rare, in fact, that Isaac only knew it by name...

However, the Magic of this school was said to be completely twisted!

Twisted in every sense of the word!

Of course, for a Mad Witch like Isaac who frequently dealt with Outer Gods, that level of ”twistedness” was nothing. What truly interested Isaac about Fiona Morgan was her research in the Divine Domain!

Among the candidates recommended by the Sect, Fiona was the only one whose research focus within the Divine Domain was publicly accessible.

This meant her research was exceedingly normal.

But that was precisely what was strange, because normal research would never have been recommended to Isaac.

Virtual Deities—that was Fiona’s research in the Divine Domain. In theory, it could simulate the powers of any Deity, but because it wasn’t a real Existence, it wouldn’t affect the Deities in the Real World.

Isaac had some familiarity with this field. It was, after all, one of the few areas related to Deities that could be studied openly. However, due to a lack of time, his knowledge was extremely limited, so he didn’t yet know how it could aid his own research.

However, it should be of considerable help to his God Creation experiment.

Yes, this was just Isaac’s intuition; there was no theoretical basis for it.

Therefore, Isaac was quite looking forward to meeting Fiona Morgan. Even if her research proved unhelpful to his two experiments concerning Deities, it wouldn’t matter. If he could learn some Knowledge about Imaginary Number Magic in the process, it would be well worth it!

”Hello. You’re even... younger than I imagined!” Fiona remarked with a sigh, looking at Isaac’s absurdly youthful face.

Isaac gave a slight smile, offering no further reaction. After all...

It was the truth.

”I assume the Sect has already briefed you on my research topic. I would like to invite you to join my project team. Would you be willing?”

Just as when he had invited Siwal and Evans, Isaac was direct, dispensing with the flattery and getting straight to business.

Fiona, for her part, was not put off by his directness. She smiled and replied just as frankly, ”I have no problem joining your project team, but on one condition: you must help me write a story. That information on the Sect forum... that was you, wasn’t it?”

Isaac smiled, a noncommittal gesture. ”Writing a story for you won’t be a problem,” he said. ”What kind did you have in mind?”

Hearing this, Fiona raised an eyebrow. ”Oh? You take requests? Let’s be clear, if the story isn’t good enough, I won’t be joining your project team. You’re a Legendary Mage, too; you should know that advancement is our top priority.”

Isaac smiled confidently. He knew, of course, how important this was, but he was equally confident in the stories from his past life!

Any story that could be passed down for hundreds or even thousands of years was bound to be a good one!

Of course, Isaac’s confidence didn’t stem solely from the great authors of his past life who had left behind timeless masterpieces. It also came from himself. As his power grew, his memory had become increasingly exceptional; a perfect, photographic memory was now a trivial matter.

He could now unearth stories he had only skimmed in the past, stories that had long since vanished into the depths of his mind, and recall them perfectly!

He no longer needed to fill in the blurry parts with his own modifications as he had before.

Of course, some modifications were still necessary. A little localization was required.

”Just give me your requirements. I’ll write the story, you read it, and you only have to join my research project if you’re satisfied. How does that sound?”

Looking at the ever-confident Isaac, Fiona nodded with great interest. ”Alright,” she said. ”But my time is limited. I will give you three chances. If you fail to satisfy me after three attempts, I will leave immediately.”

As she spoke, Fiona produced a Witchcraft Contract. This was the type of contract used between Legendary Mages for the exchange of written works. Its power was bound by a single, simple clause: without the author’s permission, the other party could not disseminate the work as their own Fantasy Legend.

It was a simple clause, but precisely because of its simplicity, it was not only difficult to alter but also incredibly potent. As long as both parties were of the same Level, it was practically impossible to violate.

The reason it was only *practically* impossible was that, to Isaac, this contract was just a piece of scrap paper!

As a Mad Witch, the manipulation of contracts—both breaking and upholding them—was one of the fundamental skills they relied upon for survival. Not to mention, he could always call upon an Outer God to break it, a method that was both swift and exceedingly subtle.

Nevertheless, Isaac very seriously signed his name on the Witchcraft Contract. He had no intention of violating it; after all, there was no benefit in doing so...

What he wanted right now was for this Witchcraft Contract to be properly executed.

So, if Fiona were to try anything funny...

...then in his eyes, she would be no different from prey. Fair game.

Fiona was perfectly clear on this point, which was why she had been the one to produce the Witchcraft Contract. It was a sign of her sincerity.

After Isaac signed the Witchcraft Contract without hesitation, Fiona smiled faintly and signed her own name before stating her request to Isaac.

Her request was simple: the story had to be easy to spread, and it had to feature lots of wondrous Magical Creatures!

Hearing this, Isaac blinked. ’That seems... not too difficult,’ he thought.
