Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 282: Chapter 216: The Powerful Beast of Three Moons

Isaac actually knew the moment Liu Li finished off the High-level Earth Elemental Spirit, but he didn’t turn back right away. Instead, he kept his attention focused on collecting data on the Flesh Mutation.

For one thing, the data was truly important. For another, if he turned around the second the fight ended, wouldn’t that just prove he knew Liu Li’s identity?

’If I’m going to put on an act, I should at least make it plausible.’

Sure enough, after changing back, Liu Li glanced in Isaac’s direction. Seeing him still immersed in his magical research, she breathed a small sigh of relief before throwing herself back into the fray to clean up the battlefield.

Although Liu Li’s true form possessed a special, powerful dissolving ability originating from a Demon God, she rarely used it because its appearance was simply too grotesque. Even when Isaac wasn’t around, she wouldn’t use it unless it was an absolute last resort.

Because she understood one principle all too well: the more you do, the more mistakes you make.

’To keep my master from discovering my true identity, I have to keep it perfectly hidden!’

Of course, besides her combat strength being weaker in her usual form, the most significant consequence was that, over time, she was gradually beginning to feel a sense of disgust for her true appearance...

This was also what currently troubled Isaac. Even with Liu Li’s incredibly blessed origins, someone who couldn’t face their true self would inevitably hit a wall one day.

In this regard, the Extraordinary Professions of this world were strikingly similar to the Cultivators from Cultivation novels.

However, Isaac had no good solution for this. He could only hope Liu Li would be able to overcome it on her own.

Before long, aside from the five High-level Earth Elemental Spirits that Isaac had under control, all the other Earth Elemental Spirits on the field had been wiped out by Liu Li, Shushu, and the Dimension Apostles.

Magic Power surged around Liu Li as she changed back into her simple white dress and silently took her place behind Isaac.

A short while later, under the combined influence of the Flesh Mutation from both Isaac and Harmon, the five High-level Earth Elemental Spirits could no longer take it. Their Magic Power erupted violently, they let out a final roar to the heavens, and then their power dissipated, and they crumbled into piles of broken stone.

Staring at the piles of broken stone, Isaac was momentarily stunned. They hadn’t died because of the Flesh Mutation...

Strictly speaking, Flesh Mutation wasn’t a lethal ability. It would only turn one life into countless new lives...

These five High-level Earth Elemental Spirits had killed themselves. Clearly, after seeing all their kin die in such a twisted fashion, they had lost the will to live and chosen suicide.

’Rather than die in such a twisted form, it’s better to end things ourselves and grant ourselves a dignified death!’

After his brief stupor, Isaac snapped out of it with a shake of his head and a small smile. He waved his hand, sending the Dimension Apostles deep into the valley to enter the Sub-plane through its connection to the Real World and resume their relentless, sacrificial scouting.

He, meanwhile, walked over and squatted down, rummaging through a pile of broken stone. He picked out a few high-quality, Magic Power-rich stones and stowed them away. ’Demons like Elemental Spirits are tough to kill, but the rewards are decent. These stones are good stuff.’

”Hm?”

Suddenly, Isaac, who was rummaging through the stones, froze. All the Dimension Apostles that had entered the Sub-plane had been wiped out. ’How long has it even been?’

At the same time, Liu Li’s brow furrowed. She had sensed it—an immense Magic Power had suddenly erupted from deep within the valley. And that power... it felt bizarre!

’I can clearly sense three distinct sources of Magic Power, yet they feel like they’re one and the same...’

’And it feels... overwhelmingly strong!’

By now, Isaac had also sensed the Magic Power. He turned to look deep into the valley and slowly straightened up, his expression growing grim. The nature of this Magic Power...

’I know what this is!’

’Three sources, yet they feel unified...’

’And what’s more, it contains the Concept of the Moon God...’

The Moon God’s Favored Beast of March!

Just as he’d thought, a moment later, three bestial figures of varying sizes slowly emerged from the depths of the valley. They were three large, feline Demons—a leopard, a tiger, and a lion. All had snow-white fur and a black moon-shaped mark on their foreheads: the New Moon, the Half Moon, and the Full Moon.

The Beast of March was an extremely unique Moon’s Favored. It had two forms. The first form consisted of three Demons that were independent, yet unified. One had to kill all three simultaneously to face its second form: the Black Moon Cat.

An entirely black cat, the crescent moon on its forehead changing from black to silver. Unlike the three brutish Demons of the first form, which specialized in physical strength, the second-form Black Moon Cat lost its powerful physical body, but its Magic Power became incredibly immense.

Its high survivability, combined with two completely distinct combat styles, made the Beast of March an incredibly formidable and difficult foe.

Now he understood why so many Earth Elemental Spirits had been driven into this valley...

In the Beast of March’s first form, all three Demons were Tier Three Upper. Once it entered its second form, the Black Moon Cat would become a Tier Four Demon!

And not just an Ordinary Demon, but a Follower-type Demon possessing Divine Power!

Isaac’s expression was grim. Without a shred of hesitation, he pointed a finger. The Arrogant Turtle emerged, enveloping the three Demons and completely restricting their movements.

And then...

A pitch-black Dimension rift materialized behind Isaac, swallowing both him and Liu Li whole.
