Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 275: Chapter 209: A Date? No! An Experiment in the Name of a Date

The round-faced young Wizard took the parchment, inspected it, then put it away carefully. He then said respectfully, ”We will contact the Siwal Wizard for you as soon as possible. Once we have news, we will notify you immediately.”

”Alright, I appreciate it.” Isaac nodded in satisfaction. He then glanced at the opulent hall, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly, and quickly led Liu Li out of the Truth Association’s headquarters.

He had originally planned to rent a simple laboratory here to do some research and pass the time while he waited, but now...

He wasn’t in the mood for that anymore...

’I should just explore Nebula City for the next few days. Speaking of which, I’ve been in this world for over a decade, but I’ve never really had any fun. Before I became a Wizard, my body was too weak. I had the time, but not the means. After I became a Wizard, I had the means, but not the time. This is a perfect chance to relax.’

’A balance of work and rest is the best way to study Magic.’

So, Isaac began to stroll down the main street with Liu Li. But after just a few minutes, his face darkened, and he led Liu Li into a clothing store.

There was no help for it. To the people of this world, Liu Li’s maid outfit was a bit too provocative. Although Isaac was used to seeing it, it was the first time others had encountered it. To them, it was no different from lingerie...

Before, whenever Isaac took Liu Li out, they always had something to do, so while he had noticed this reaction, he hadn’t paid it any mind.

But it was different now. The purpose of strolling around was to relax and enjoy himself. The surprised and lecherous gazes from passersby were making Isaac uncomfortable. Enjoyment had turned into discomfort, and that simply wouldn’t do.

So, after walking just a few more steps, he took Liu Li to a clothing store. First things first, she needed to change her clothes.

”Pick out a few sets of normal clothes for her,” Isaac said to the shopkeeper who was walking over to greet them as they entered.

”Master?” Liu Li looked at Isaac. Though her cold, beautiful face showed no expression, after spending so much time together, Isaac knew she was confused.

”That outfit isn’t suitable for wearing out right now. And don’t just use Magic Power to change it. You need to learn to enjoy life.”

”My, this Wizard really dotes on you.” Liu Li, who had been hesitant, swallowed the words of refusal she was about to say upon hearing the shopkeeper’s comment. She nodded and followed the shopkeeper to pick out some clothes.

”How about this one? It would show off your figure wonderfully.”

”Is it practical for combat?”

”Uh... then what about this one? The color is more subdued, which suits your temperament, and it’s looser, making it easy to move in.”

”Is it durable?”

”Err... then take a look at this one. It’s woven from the fur of a Tier Two Demon. It’s extremely durable and offers a degree of protection.”

”Can I wear armor over it?”

”...”

After a moment, the joy that had slowly appeared on the shopkeeper’s face slowly faded. She had thought a big client had arrived, asking for combat-suitable clothes right off the bat, but she hadn’t expected this client to be this much of a handful. Her requirements were so damn demanding...

’She wants something she can wear under armor that also has excellent Magic Resistance. Come on, lady, this is just an ordinary shop that sells everyday clothes. Why would you come here to buy something like that? Where would I get such high-end goods?’

So, after recommending more than ten outfits that Liu Li was still not satisfied with, the shopkeeper turned her gaze to Isaac. At this point, only he could save her... This customer was simply too hard to please!

Noticing the shopkeeper’s helpless expression, Isaac gave a wry smile and said to her, ”Don’t worry about her requirements. You have good taste. Just pick out what you think is best. Pick a bunch. If they suit her, I’ll buy them all.”

Then, he turned to Liu Li and said, ”We’re just buying ordinary clothes this time, so you don’t need to worry about all that. We’ll go buy weapons and combat gear later. Afterwards, I’ll develop a special Magic for you to switch equipment during battle. For now, just enjoy the process of buying clothes.”

Hearing this, Liu Li froze. For a moment, she couldn’t quite process it...

She was Isaac’s Follower. Combat and assisting Isaac with his research were her very reasons for being. Other things...

She had never even considered them...

Except, of course, for vying for his favor.

Meanwhile, seeing Liu Li stunned, Isaac revealed a satisfied smile. ’This is a good start. Liu Li’s ”three-no” attribute has always been something of a regret for me. Although it was quite appealing when I first met her, and it totally fit my preferences...’

’But after spending so much time together, Liu Li is no longer just a simple tool in my heart. She’s a true living being, a true partner!’

’And a true living being obviously shouldn’t have an artificially assigned attribute like ”three-no.” So I hope Liu Li can change a little. I’m not asking for much, but maybe she can at least go from ”three-no” to just ”aloof”?’

’Of course, this is obviously not an easy task, because it can’t be done with Magic, or it would be meaningless.’

On the other side, when the shopkeeper heard Isaac’s words, she was first stunned, then ecstatic!

This was a huge sale!

Although Isaac had said he would only buy what was suitable, Liu Li herself was very beautiful. With such a good foundation, what wouldn’t look good on her? ℯℯ𝑙.

But soon, before her ecstasy could last, she was stunned by Isaac’s phrase, ”I’ll develop a special Magic for you”!

Although the shopkeeper herself was just an Ordinary person, having run a shop in Nebula City for so many years, she had at least a slight Concept of Magic. At the very least, she knew that creating Magic wasn’t so easy!

This young master before her, although his Wizard Robe looked quite plain, was clearly no ordinary Transcendent to be able to say something like that so casually. So, the shopkeeper extinguished any other ideas she might have had and earnestly selected several outfits that were most suitable for Liu Li, no longer just trying to make a quick sale.

After a little while, Liu Li stared blankly at the few sets of clothes and dresses before her, then turned her head to look at Isaac.

Isaac nodded and said, ”Go in and try them on. One by one. Remember, you’re to put on the clothes, not conjure them with Magic Power.”

Receiving Isaac’s order, Liu Li could only take the clothes and walk into the changing room.

Next, she tried on one outfit after another, coming out each time for Isaac to see.

In truth, Liu Li didn’t know the meaning behind all this, but every time she came out in a new outfit, she could see the pleasantly surprised expression on Isaac’s face. And so, she began to enjoy it.

For Liu Li, doing something wasn’t about whether it had meaning, but about whether it was helpful to Isaac and whether Isaac liked it.

Soon, she had tried on all the selected clothes. Isaac was very satisfied, so without much hesitation, he bought them all. After letting Liu Li pick one to wear, the two of them left the shop and began their stroll through Nebula City.
