Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 278: Chapter 212: Continuation of the Miracle of Life — The 3-Eyed Goblin

Isman Valley was located in the Reyno Mountain Range, over fifty kilometers north of Nebula City. The Reyno Mountain Range was one of Nebula City’s crucial trade routes, so it was naturally not a peaceful place. Where there was profit, there was conflict.

And since it was a trade route for Nebula City, the profits at stake were clearly enormous.

As such, the vast Reyno Mountain Range was home to a large number of bandits. Although Nebula City sent Soldiers out every month to sweep the area, the situation in the Reyno Mountain Range was exceptionally murky. It was so murky that no matter how many times Nebula City launched these sweeps, they could never fully eradicate the bandits inside.

Of course, this was also a major reason for the presence of Adventurers in Nebula City. Most of their missions involved escorting merchant caravans to and from Nebula City for a protection fee. Isaac even suspected that the reason the bandits in the Reyno Mountain Range could never be wiped out was likely due to some sort of profit chain established between the bandits, Nebula City, and the Adventurers.

However, this was just Isaac’s speculation. He didn’t know the specifics, nor was he interested in finding out, because it had nothing to do with him.

This was true even though Isman Valley, his destination, was located deep within the Reyno Mountain Range.

After all, Isaac’s visit to the Adventurers’ Tavern hadn’t been fruitless. At the very least, he had obtained the coordinates for Isman Valley. And with coordinates, he could use Space Teleportation to go directly there, bypassing the bandits in the mountains.

—

At the entrance to Isman Valley, strange, distorted spatial ripples appeared, and from within, the figures of Isaac and Liu Li slowly emerged.

Isaac stood at the valley’s entrance, curiously observing his surroundings. Beneath the lush jungle and shrubs, the ground held traces of faint, mutated matter—a sign of Erosion by highly concentrated Magic Power.

Moreover, it was high-concentration Earth Element Magic Power. This meant that the Sub-plane within the valley not only contained an abundance of the Earth Element, but its gate was also wide open!

’This is going to be a bit tricky...’

Isaac’s expression turned resigned. Although a Sub-plane is attached to the Real World, it is relatively independent and rarely connects with it. Even for a Wizard to travel to a Sub-plane, they must either leverage the unique nature of the Dimension—which permeates and runs parallel to all realms—or use Magic to perform an Analysis of the Sub-plane’s laws to create a corresponding Magic Key. Otherwise, not even a Demigod could enter!

Of course, while a Demigod couldn’t enter, they could directly destroy the Sub-plane.

Still, this demonstrated the unique nature of Sub-planes.

But not all Sub-planes were so independent. There were always a few exceptions!

When the Magic Power concentration within a Sub-plane reaches a certain level, it will begin to actively draw closer to the Real World and merge with it, becoming a part of it. This is one of the reasons the Real World is so immeasurably vast.

Therefore, the Sub-plane in this valley was clearly one of those currently in the process of merging with the Real World.

This was the source of Isaac’s concern. Normally, a Sub-plane with this level of Magic Power concentration should have spawned more than ten Tier Three Demons!

There was even a chance it could have nurtured a Tier Four Demon!

But now, according to Siwal, there were only three High-level Demons inside...

’Either Siwal’s intelligence was wrong, or...’

’...those three High-level Demons are exceptionally powerful!’

Regardless of the reason, it was bound to create complications for Isaac’s mission...

More importantly, since this Sub-plane was filled with such dense Earth Element Magic Power, the Demons within were bound to be of the Earth Attribute, or possibly even Earth Elementals themselves!

And that kind of Demon...

...is usually very tough to deal with!

The reason was simple: they had thick hides and tough flesh!

’Every last one of them is a goddamn high-defense, high-attack meat shield!’

’The only saving grace is that they’re a little slow.’

The best way to deal with this type of Demon is with Earth Element Magic. Unlike what most people think of as Earth Element Magic, this category of spells isn’t just about simple manipulation of the Earth Element. Strictly speaking, that’s Shaping Magic.

True Earth Element Magic, strictly speaking, should be called the art of manipulating earthen materials. The most common spells in this category are various Dissociation Techniques. Against these high-defense, high-attack meat shields, a single, corresponding Dissociation Technique would have an effect that’s...

...absolutely world-shattering!

Unfortunately, Isaac wasn’t skilled in this type of Magic...

’So, Liu Li and I will just have to brute-force it...’

’This is going to be the death of me...’

Of course, even if Isaac were skilled in Earth Element Magic, things might not go smoothly. Siwal’s intelligence had also mentioned that Moon God Flowers grew in the three Demons’ lair. For the vast majority of Earth Element Demons, this Magic Plant was completely useless...

So, it was also possible that the three Demons weren’t Earth Element Demons at all, but rather powerful Demons that had defeated them on their own home turf—the Earth Elemental Plane...

And either outcome was equally unfavorable for Isaac...

”Sigh...” Isaac heaved a deep sigh and waved his right hand. Faint spatial ripples materialized behind him, swallowing both him and Liu Li. This time, however, it wasn’t a spatial shift, but an extremely secretive Concealment Skill. Once enveloped by this layer of Space, anyone without a certain degree of Spatial Mastery would be unable to detect them.

After Isaac and Liu Li were hidden, several dark, Profound rifts appeared, and a dozen three-eyed humanoids stepped out. Their bodies were wreathed in Profound, wicked Magic Power, their faces expressionless. These were Isaac’s Dimension Apostles.

After the Dimension Apostles arrived, most of them strode directly into the valley. Only one short figure, less than a meter tall, remained in place. No, it wasn’t entirely motionless.

Although it didn’t walk into the valley, the inky-black Dimensional Magic Power at its feet began to spread like flowing water deep into the valley. As the Dimensional Magic Power pervaded the area, Green-skinned Goblins holding wooden clubs and stones slowly rose from it, then charged inside with ferocious cries.

And mixed in among these Ordinary Goblins were a few sporadic, blood-red, three-meter-tall Yakuza Goblins!

Needless to say, this short figure was the lucky survivor of Isaac’s Demon Eye experiment. After being turned into a Dimension Apostle by Isaac, it had not failed to live up to his gift. In addition to strengthening the development of its Demon Eye and improving its refinement of Dimensional Magic Power, most importantly, it had begun to work on modifying Ordinary Goblins!

Although its current modifications were still primitive, limited to infusing Dimensional Magic Power into the bodies of Ordinary Goblins and using the Profound nature of the Dimensional Magic Power to forcibly transform them.

As one might expect, the success rate of such a primitive method was naturally low. But no matter how low the success rate, it couldn’t stand up against the sheer number of Goblins!

After sacrificing an unknown number of Goblins, these red-skinned Goblins covered in muscle tumors were the result. Their combat power reached Tier One Middle! And they felt no pain!

A single red-skinned Goblin could easily take down a hundred Ordinary Goblins!

The only downside was that while the Three-eyed Goblin had some intelligence, it wasn’t much. Although it had achieved some results modifying Goblins with Dimensional Magic Power, it didn’t know how to summarize its findings or analyze the reasons for its success. As a result, it still hadn’t mastered a stable method for creating the red-skinned Goblins.

Fortunately, Isaac never had high expectations for the Three-eyed Goblin to begin with. As long as it showed any improvement, it was a net gain for him.
