Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 246: Chapter 195: Isaac: I’ve Met Many Madmen, but They All Call Me a Madman

(The title got eaten, so I’m adding one. This doesn’t count toward the paid word count: Isaac: I’ve met plenty of madmen, but they’re the ones who call me crazy.)

In the Deep Sea, a colossal White Whale carefully swam along the ocean currents. It would occasionally break away, drift aimlessly for a moment, and then merge back into the flow to continue its journey.

Needless to say, this White Whale was naturally Isaac, his consciousness having descended into it. He was currently piloting the White Whale Avatar toward a hunting ground he had chosen for it in the Deep Sea.

The occasional stops were to confirm his position. After all, he was still human. Although the avatar allowed him to move freely in the White Whale’s body without any discomfort, that was the extent of it.

He did not possess most of the instincts belonging to a White Whale—or rather, a Demon. Not yet, at least. Not unless he spent a prolonged period of time acting in the White Whale’s body.

Therefore, under these circumstances, it had to stop from time to time to confirm its position and avoid getting lost. At the same time, it could scout the area ahead. If a powerful Demon was passing by, he could wait for it to move on before proceeding.

Although the route Isaac had chosen for the White Whale was considerably safe, this was the great ocean, where anything could happen. Besides, the sea chart was quite old, so there was no harm in being a little more cautious.

Fortunately, the Flesh Sect’s sea charts and routes were quite reliable. The White Whale Avatar followed the currents and arrived safely at the Deep Sea hunting ground Isaac had selected—the Whisperer Trench.

According to the Flesh Sect’s records, this was the place where an Evil God had once fallen. Although a powerful Wizard from the Flesh Sect had collected the corpse, the area was still enriched with vast amounts of Magic Power, which had nurtured a great number of Demons and Magic Potions.

Unfortunately, this Magic Power originated from an Evil God and was extremely Erosive. Thus, despite being a rare high-magic area, it was avoided by humans, the Sea Race, and even Deep Sea Demons alike. To this day, it remained an ownerless land.

But the White Whale Avatar clearly didn’t need to worry about such things. Its origin was the Evil God White Whale, and its rank was not much lower than that of the ”Whisperer.” Whether it was Demons, Magic Potions, or the strange, unholy Magic Power contained in the seawater, it could devour them all directly, without any restrictions!

Of course, the most important thing was that, although this was a high-magic area, due to the unique nature of the Magic Power, not a single Demon here could break through to Tier Three!

Naturally, this only meant their rank could not reach Tier Three; their actual combat power was a different story.

But even so, this was still the most suitable place for the White Whale to grow. As long as it avoided the few strongest Demons and was careful, with the White Whale’s terrifying talent for growth, it would soon possess the combat power to rival them!

...

In his castle on the territory, Isaac slowly opened his eyes and breathed a small sigh of relief after guiding the White Whale to its destination. ’Now, it’s all up to the White Whale Avatar’s own luck,’ he thought. ’This is as much as I can help.’

After all, he was a Mage, not a muscle-bound Knight or a Lord focused on managing his territory. His most important task was still research into Magic. He didn’t need to pour his energy into the White Whale Avatar. The power and wealth it could send back were, to the current Isaac, not even worth mentioning.

Of course, the most important thing was...

Isaac touched the space between his eyebrows, which was now only a slight bulge. From the prominent horn it once was to the mere budding point it was now, it was clear that his fusion with the Demon Eye had reached its final stage.

At the same time, the power of the Demon Eye was on the verge of finishing its Nurturing!

Every day, he could feel an utterly evil power trying to burst forth from the Demon Eye, but it failed every time, limited by the degree of fusion between the Demon Eye and his body.

Rolling his shoulders, Isaac walked out of the castle and went to his Mage Tower to check on the state of his territory using surveillance Magic.

Surprisingly, though it had only been a short time, they had actually made some real progress. The territory now had a population of three to four hundred. Although most of them were still slaves, a light had begun to appear in their eyes. Clearly, they had seen a future and were striving for it.

Three to four hundred people might not sound like much, but managing them was very difficult. Many people would be at a loss trying to manage even a dozen. After all, these were living, breathing people, not just a simple number in a game.

Unfortunately, Isaac’s territory was located in the heartland of the Solomon Territory and wasn’t very large. At most, it could support a small town. This was only after his father had granted him some more land; otherwise, he couldn’t even be considered a landowner, let alone a Lord.

Of course, there was plenty of empty land nearby, but that was a buffer zone intentionally created by Caesar and the others. Though uninhabited, the ownership rights still belonged to Solomon.

Therefore, its development potential was limited. The difficulty was merely comparable to that of a Pioneer Territory; it wasn’t actually a Pioneer Territory.

However, Isaac’s true intention was simply to use this to build Lorna’s confidence. If it couldn’t be developed, then so be it; it was no big deal. If Lorna truly ended up enjoying pioneering, he could just get her a Pioneer Order. It wasn’t complicated.

And compared to the development of the territory, other matters were proceeding much more conventionally, steadily following Isaac’s plans.
