”Sir, there’s no problem going to the Magic District, but there’s one thing I need to explain to you beforehand.”

At this flying point, an undead with some remaining flesh on its body put down a bowl of meat for the giant bats and said seriously, ”Just yesterday, a dark canopy was erected in the city.

The sky is filled with black ash.

The flying speed of the giant bats has also been affected, taking 10 to 15 minutes longer to reach the Magic District than usual.”

”The dark canopy is up?”

Upon hearing this news, Gu Xi couldn’t help but raise his head and look at the sky. He had heard Luna mention that they were going to use black ash to construct the dark canopy. How long did it take to complete?

As he looked up, Gu Xi realized that the sky was still its original color, seemingly unchanged.

This left Gu Xi somewhat confused.

However, Gu Xi, being a big-hearted person, wouldn’t bother to ask if he didn’t understand something.

After all, with the dark canopy completed, Yalidov City would be better hidden within the Mirror Image Underground Palace, less likely to be discovered, and could remain secret for a longer time.

Snapping back to reality, Gu Xi glanced at the standing undead beside him and said with a smile, ”Alright, if it’s slower, it’s slower. Flying is still faster than taking the water route.”

Hearing this, the undead nodded repeatedly. Now, being part of the flying point staff, he naturally had to advocate for the flying point.

”Exactly, no other means of transport can beat flying in speed.”

As the undead spoke, he fitted a flight saddle onto a giant bat.

”Sir, this way, please.”

Once everything was set, the undead invited Gu Xi to board the giant bat.

While sitting on the giant bat, Gu Xi carefully assessed the situation.

He found that the ride on the giant bat was not as comfortable as his Water Dragon Beast.

Let alone compared to the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

The only advantage was that the giant bat was relatively stable, and riding it didn’t give a feeling of up-and-down movement.

After ensuring that Gu Xi had fastened his seatbelt and other safety measures, the undead released his hand.

”Go!”

The giant bat flapped its wings and soared into the sky.

As Gu Xi rapidly ascended, he quickly switched to the Pathfinding Skill state.

Although the flight route of the giant bat is fixed, Gu Xi still wanted to observe the flight method of the flying point.

As the giant bat rose, Gu Xi noticed a new, smoke-emitting building in the original location of the Giant Garden.

Thick black smoke rose from the building, resembling a beacon tower, reaching thousands of meters into the sky.

Around this building, large amounts of black ash and wood were piled up.

Though he couldn’t clearly discern the architectural style from afar, Gu Xi could already identify it as the dark canopy Luna mentioned at the start.

The dark canopy is considered a core city defense structure in Death Cities.

According to the description, the rising black smoke can envelop the Death City and the surrounding ten miles or so, making it difficult for outsiders to notice the Death City hidden within the smoke unless they pay close attention.

That’s why the undead earlier mentioned the dark canopy completion, and Gu Xi raised his head to look at the sky in confusion.

He thought the sky would be shrouded by the black smoke after the dark canopy was erected.

But it turns out, that’s not the case.

The smoke indeed rose, but because it rose so high, from within the Death City, one couldn’t discern any black smoke in the sky.

As the giant bat rose into the sky, Gu Xi finally saw black powders floating in the air.

These powders were the black ash he transported.

He wasn’t sure how much black ash Luna used to build the dark canopy; nevertheless, as the giant bat ascended this level, Gu Xi noticed that the amount of floating black ash in the sky was quite sparse.

If anything, it was like a single black sesame falling onto a beach.

If Gu Xi hadn’t switched to the Pathfinding Skill clone, significantly enhancing his perception, he might not have been able to detect the presence of these black ashes himself.

After the giant bat ascended to a high altitude, it paused momentarily, determined a direction, and flew that way.

At this moment, Gu Xi noticed that the sky seemed to be slightly warped where the giant bat flew.

The Pathfinding Skill appeared to have some adverse reactions there.

Gu Xi immediately understood what was happening.

Yalidov City is a city where time and space overlap.

Now they were flying in-between time and space.

This part of the path is perceivable using the Pathfinding Skill, but for Gu Xi to actually find the correct path within this chaotic time and space would require considerable time and effort.

However, the giant bat in front of him flew effortlessly.

It was as if it knew exactly where to fly from the beginning.

While flying, it always managed to swiftly arrive at the right location.

Gu Xi only watched for a moment before realizing that this is a fixed flight route.

Everything here had already been calculated, and it would be the same for anyone coming over.

This path might not be the shortest, but it’s undoubtedly the safest route leading to each district.

When entering the gap of time and space, Gu Xi found numerous images flashing before his eyes.

These images depicted the original construction of Victoria City and Yalidov City.

Scenes from before Gu Xi took over Yalidov City were also included.

There were also images of several battles Gu Xi participated in for Yalidov City.

Even the gradual relocation of various buildings after acquiring Yalidov City appeared.

Gu Xi understood what he was seeing.

With nothing else to do, he carefully examined these images, curious about what was recorded in this gap of time and space.

Perhaps because Gu Xi had just enhanced his intelligence, as these images flashed before his eyes, his mind worked rapidly, calculating something.

Gu Xi’s gaze became increasingly clear.

He discovered that he could grasp all his thoughts and analyze them one by one.

Although it was merely a flight journey from the flying point, it contributed to Gu Xi’s understanding of Yalidov City.

Understanding the existence of Death Cities.

Understanding the skill of Death Cities.

Understanding the development and construction of Death Cities.

Gu Xi began to form his own ideas and judgments about Death Cities.

Meanwhile, Luna, who was handling affairs in the Assembly Hall, sensed something too. She raised her head, looking somewhat puzzled.

”What’s going on? It seems Yalidov City’s operations have become smoother?

Has the quality of Death Cities improved?

This timing is off. Although the accumulation is sufficient, the city is still under construction. The timing isn’t right. Shaya, are you there? Do you have time to help me check on something?”
