Gu Xi knew nothing about the thoughts of the City Lord of Bailian City.

He only watched as a large number of low-level players headed towards the City Lord’s location excitedly, as if they weren’t going to their deaths but rather to mine gold.

Meanwhile, the gates of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild slowly opened behind Gu Xi.

It seemed like the guilds had also received the message from the City Lord’s Mansion, and the alarm had been lifted.

Seeing the gate slowly open, Gu Xi dismissed the idea of joining the commotion and turned to enter the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

Re-entering the Chaoyang Radiance Guild, Gu Xi immediately saw players disbanding.

The state of the guild made it apparent that all available members had been summoned to participate in the defense earlier.

Gu Xi felt a wave of lingering fear in his heart at this moment.

If he’d made a wrong choice earlier, he would have had to face all the players in the guild.

Fortunately, the alarm had ended now.

As Gu Xi entered, the members who had relaxed greeted him.

”Comrade, what’s it like outside now?”

”Comrade, you came late and got locked out, didn’t you? If you’d arrived a step earlier and taken the task of guarding the guild, the rewards would be huge.”

”Comrade, I heard a team of Level 20 came, is it true?”

”Comrade, comrade, did you participate in the outside battle? I heard there was a battle outside, I wanted to go out, but got blocked inside.”

Gu Xi could only respond one by one.

When they learned that Gu Xi was just briefly returning and had been trapped outside, most players lost interest.

After all, Gu Xi hadn’t been involved in the battle outside.

He certainly didn’t gain any benefits.

Watching everyone disperse, Gu Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Being surrounded by guild members asking all sorts of questions was really annoying for Gu Xi.

After everyone left, Gu Xi went to the Teleportation Gate Plaza and asked a guild staff member.

”Comrade, I want to ask...”

”Rewards are to be collected at the task office, they are not given here.”

The staff member glanced at Gu Xi and then lowered his head.

”No, I wanted to ask how to contact Comrade Li Xinghui?”

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s words, the staff member raised his head, glanced at Gu Xi, hesitated for a moment, and said, ”Comrade Li Xinghui participated in battles in the Game World and won’t be returning.”

”Won’t be returning, what does that mean...”

Gu Xi’s voice paused, then he understood what the staff member meant.

He wouldn’t return in the game.

This meant the person was gone.

”When did this happen?”

”The news spread three days ago, he died fighting the Fusion Association; he was a hero.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi fell silent, not speaking for a while.

It was the staff member who patted Gu Xi on the shoulder and said, ”As a newcomer, you should get used to such things; players always end up dying in the game.”

After a long pause, Gu Xi came back to his senses and spoke, ”I was introduced to Chaoyang Radiance Guild by Comrade Li Xinghui. I wanted to apply to participate in Creation and originally wanted to bid farewell to Comrade Li.

I didn’t expect such a thing to happen.

I lost my composure.

By the way, where should I apply to participate in Creation now?”

”You should go to the office building and directly find the deputy leaders of the Knight Order or Mage Corps. If they’re not there, you can see if the President is available.

Applying to participate in Creation is considered a major event within the guild, and the President will meet you.”

”Has the President safely returned?”

Although Gu Xi knew that the deputy leader had taken the President away at that time, he wasn’t aware of the final situation. Moreover, when he entered earlier, the Three-legged Golden Crow in the sky still seemed like a phantom.

”He’s returned. You can go over with peace of mind.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi nodded.

As an Undead Mage, Gu Xi was used to life and death. When there were important matters, he would suppress some thoughts in his mind.

Now it was best to find the President early and apply for participating in Creation first.

After all, Bailian City was becoming more unsafe, and who knew what curses had befallen Bailian City.

To be targeted like this.

Gu Xi didn’t want to be tied to Bailian City any longer.

Staying here indefinitely, who knew when stray shots might sneak up on him again.

He decided not to try to fleece the guild as he previously thought but instead headed towards the office building.

Entering the office building, Gu Xi saw a large group of Fierce Weasels busily running around.

In their hands, they carried a large amount of blood and wine infused with Negative Energy.

Unaware of the situation, Gu Xi accidentally blocked their path and was almost scolded by these Fierce Weasels.

Fortunately, someone in the office building pulled Gu Xi aside, avoiding any conflict.

”What are you doing, comrade?

Don’t you know the office building has been in chaos these days?”

”I reached Level 10 and want to apply to participate in Creation.”

”Oh, comrade, you’re Level 10 at such a young age, quite talented.”

The person holding Gu Xi took a good look at him, ”I heard Creation is very dangerous, brother, do you have any descendants left? Let me tell you, I have a niece, eighteen this year, just graduated from Nether Bone Wind Academy.

Shall I introduce you, leave some descendants?”

Gu Xi rolled his eyes when he heard this. Although he could not tolerate gambling and drugs, he wasn’t at the point of needing to leave descendants with everyone he met.

His goal was to return to the real world and establish his own family there.

So Gu Xi shook his head decisively.

”No need, my family doesn’t care about my matters, nor do I need to leave descendants, continue the family line.

There’s really no need.”

As Gu Xi spoke, he wanted to leave.

Fortunately, this person didn’t press Gu Xi for details and only pointed out the direction where the resting President could be found.

Quickly bidding farewell and thanking the brother who gave directions, Gu Xi hurried upstairs to the third floor.

Under the glares of a group of Fierce Weasels, he pushed open the door to the President’s office.

As he opened the door, Gu Xi noticed something was amiss inside.

In this large room, a massive raven with a wingspan exceeding 100 meters was lying down.

This was the President’s three-legged Golden Crow.

The Fierce Weasels were feeding the three-legged Golden Crow a large amount of meat and wine tainted with Negative Energy.

However, what Gu Xi focused on was not this. He noticed that as the three-legged Golden Crow raised its head to eat the meat and drink, a human shape was being pushed out from its abdomen.

Though not fully out of the Golden Crow’s body, Gu Xi could clearly recognize this as the President of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

During the crisis, he had let the three-legged Golden Crow swallow him to escape disaster.

Now he was trying to leave the Golden Crow’s body.

Gu Xi had come at the wrong time.
