Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1063: Chapter 1061: Rewards Before Leaving the Guild

”It’s you!”

The guild leader wasn’t surprised at all by Gu Xi’s arrival. Even while squeezing out of the Three-legged Golden Crow’s body, he managed to spare a moment to acknowledge Gu Xi.

”I remember you, you’re Gu Xi. You seem to be assigned to the Sun Mage Corps, right?

When I was trapped earlier, you were the first one to come to my rescue.

Your presence and actions helped my Three-legged Golden Crow break free from those Octopus Head’s Mind Control.

Otherwise, I would’ve been dragged off by their Mind Knights as a steed.

Oh, by the way, what brings you here this time?”

”Guild leader, I’ve reached Level 10. I want to apply to join Creation.”

”Oh oh oh, I see now. I remember you graduated just over a year ago, and you’re already Level 10. You really are a genius.”

The guild leader realized, ”Have you completed all the tasks for the guild’s three-year contract?”

”Completed them. In the first year shortly after joining the guild, I took on a transport unit task. Later, I participated in the White Training Grand Ceremony. In the second year, I took on a task to guard the city during its construction and later rescued you. That counts as the third contract task.”

The guild leader recalled, and thought it was a shame.

If he could drag it out a little longer, that would be great.

Such a genius, if only he could linger another year, he’d surely be Level 15 by next year.

Then, tricking him with contract tasks into a few high-difficulty tasks, all problems could be solved.

It’s a bit of a pity now.

However, the guild leader still asked, ”What about the task for the Sun Mage Corps? Did your corps commander agree to let you leave?”

”Well, due to various reasons, I’ve never actually joined the Sun Mage Corps.”

”What? Never joined? How come...”

The guild leader suddenly stopped at this point.

He realized that Gu Xi had settled all accounts with the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

Trying to hold Gu Xi through any means might not be effective anymore.

Understanding this, the guild leader quickly changed his approach.

”Alright, I’ll approve this matter. Shi Liu, come over here.”

The guild leader turned to a Fierce Weasel.

The Fierce Weasel didn’t need the guild leader’s command for anything and directly came over with some paper and pens.

Still inside the Three-legged Golden Crow’s body, the guild leader reached out for the paper and pen and wrote down a note.

”Here’s my approval slip for you. You can register at the second floor and then report at the City Lord’s Mansion.

Oh, I’ll give you another approval slip.

After all, you’ve saved me, and I must give you some sort of reward.

In a moment let Shi Er lead you to the warehouse, where you can pick out two pieces of Purple Armor as your reward.”

Gu Xi was surprised by such good fortune.

So he quickly said, ”Then I won’t hold back, thank you, guild leader.”

”No need to thank me, it’s what you deserve. After you join Creation, don’t forget the help from our Chaoyang Radiance Guild.”

The guild leader’s words made it clear why the two pieces of Purple Armor were given.

It was to ensure Gu Xi remembers the kindness of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

In the future, after Gu Xi’s success, he won’t forget the initial support from the guild.

At that time, even a small favor from Gu Xi would benefit the guild for years.

Gu Xi understood this and didn’t oppose it.

After all, his time in the Chaoyang Radiance Guild had been quite pleasant.

Freedom.

Except for the mandatory guild task each year, he could do whatever he wanted during other times.

He could venture into the game to level up.

He could also learn within the guild.

Importantly, when learning, the guild stewards arranged everything perfectly, even providing small animals to accompany him.

During that time, Gu Xi wasn’t an elite of the guild; he was just an ordinary player.

Even so, everything he rightfully deserved was given to him.

Just this fact made Gu Xi acknowledge the goodness of Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

So even without the two Purple Armors, Gu Xi wouldn’t feel the guild was unfair to him.

He wasn’t a heartless ingrate.

However, the guild leader was generous, not qualifying the two Purple Armors as something to woo him but directly as a reward for rescuing him from danger.

This left Gu Xi with no reason to refuse, especially since he had no intention to decline.

Seeing Gu Xi’s reaction made the guild leader quite pleased.

He said to Gu Xi, ”I still need to rest, so I won’t say much more. Follow Shi Er over there, pick whatever Purple Armor you want from the warehouse.

No need to be polite with us.”

”Thank you, guild leader, I won’t hold back.”

Gu Xi understood this was the guild leader’s way of making a friendly gesture. Not accepting might make the leader worry.

Fearful that Gu Xi might mess something up for him.

It’d be better to take the Purple Armor and set the leader’s mind at ease.

So Gu Xi pocketed the two slips and followed the Fierce Weasel out.

This warehouse visit wasn’t the same as the last time Gu Xi got Purple Armor.

The last time Gu Xi was rewarded with a piece of Purple Armor by the Chaoyang Radiance Guild for completing the White Training Grand Ceremony.

That was using premium goods from the guild’s small warehouse.

This time it’s different.

This time Gu Xi’s destination was the guild’s main warehouse for Purple Armors.

Stored here were many Purple Armors, produced internally by the guild, exchangeable through guild points.

This means the Purple Armors here were more uniform or numerous.

Gu Xi followed the Fierce Weasel into the not-so-large warehouse, immediately seeing piles of Purple Armor stacked on the ground.

Many similar-style shields stacked in the corners, long spears bundled and laid flat on the floor.

The nearby cabinets housed necklaces and rings as accessories.

At the entrance, several identical swords were stuck in wooden holders.

It’s quite clear here that all these Purple Armors were mass-produced items.

After a quick lap around, Gu Xi lost interest in the Purple Armors.

Though their quality was purple, their attributes were quite lacking.

Only players who just reached Level 5 without any Purple Armor would come here to select and equip one or two items for themselves first.

Later they could swap for better-suited items after acquiring Purple Armor.

The sole advantage of these Purple Armors was avoiding deadly levels of Negative Effects.

Once grown, swapping Purple Armor would slowly clear away Negative Effects.

Gu Xi didn’t worry about Negative Effects.

Seeing so many Purple Armors before him, Gu Xi began considering what he needed.
