Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1039: Chapter 1037: Blessings and Curse

When Gu Xi discovered that the octopus-headed Undead Mage intended to destroy the city and eliminate him, far away in an underground space, a group of octopus-headed Undead Mages sat around a strange heart.

This heart was the size of a heavy truck, with its exterior stitched with numerous heart fragments of different colors, resembling a balloon that had been overinflated and patched extensively.

They sat beneath the heart, and each octopus-headed Undead Mage had a tentacle dropping down, touching their foreheads.

In this way, their spirits were connected together, and they didn’t need to speak; as soon as one had a thought, all the other Undead Mages would immediately know.

’Nikola Dodo’s Elthorpe Super New City has disappeared from the map. What happened? Did someone invade Elthorpe Super New City?’

’No alarms were detected from Elthorpe Super New City; it was Nikola Dodo himself who cut off contact.’

’What is Nikola Dodo trying to do? Is he trying to disrupt the connection of the Death City Cluster?’

’Should we send someone to take a look?’

’It’s not about sending someone to take a look; we need to deal with Nikola Dodo and reclaim Elthorpe Super New City.’

’There’s no time now. We just received news that Akadorist and his forces are about to break the enemy’s defenses. The Undead Mages of the Death Incarnation Cluster are ready for battle.

Once we break out of the game world, we can obtain the Starry Sky Ring.

Everyone is focused on this matter right now and has no time for our small issues.’

’How come there’s no time? Didn’t we just locate them?’

’Yes, we just located them not long ago, but this time it’s our good luck. It was just a coincidence that the players of this world encountered enemies causing chaos, merging so many game worlds together.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, we were able to easily lock onto the position of the Starry Sky Ring and break in.

The players of this world are already clearing out their enemies.

If the chaos from the fusion of game worlds is sorted out by them, our dispatched people won’t be able to return along the opened path.

So now we must focus on ensuring Akadorist’s safe entry into the real world and obtaining the Starry Sky Ring.

Other matters should be put aside for now.’

’So are we really going to ignore what’s happening over at Elthorpe Super New City?’

’How can we manage it? All the Death Cities have been deployed to critical locations. How can we manage a Level 5 New City like Elthorpe Super New City? Do you still have any forces available?’

’Let’s consider Nikola Dodo dead already. Let’s prepare for it, find a new seedling at Level 5, cultivate it, activate its Death City skills, and send it over to take charge of Elthorpe Super New City. Let’s just consider Nikola Dodo as dead.’

’...’

And thus the first blessing of the White Bone Obelisk was sent out.

The octopus-headed Undead Mage was abandoned by his superiors, and a newbie was about to be arranged to take over the Death City in front of him.

Although the newcomer had not yet arrived, this already disrupted the octopus-headed Undead Mage’s plan, basically undermining him completely.

And the octopus-headed Undead Mage himself was unaware of this.

At this moment, he was still arranging his methods through the half-heart inside Elthorpe Super New City.

Contrary to Gu Xi’s speculation, the octopus-headed Undead Mage did not intend to blow up Elthorpe Super New City or flood it.

He was planning to make a big move.

He was setting up a sacrificial array, intending to use Elthorpe Super New City and a large number of corpses underground, along with all the city’s energy, for a sacrifice.

In exchange for the support and descent of a Divine Demon.

He had accidentally met this Divine Demon during a previous mission.

At that time, he almost died at the hands of this Divine Demon.

If not for his race trait allowing him to influence others through his spirit, he would have been made into grilled octopus.

However, he remembered this Divine Demon afterward.

And he learned of this Divine Demon’s power and how to contact this Divine Demon for sacrifices.

This Divine Demon had reached Level 30. There’s no need to speak of his strength; when he appeared, the channel that opened was earth-shattering.

When the octopus-headed Undead Mage first saw this Divine Demon, he witnessed a pillar of flame swallowing an entire city, leaving nothing behind.

The plan of the octopus-headed Undead Mage was simple: use the entire Elthorpe Super New City for the sacrifice.

Place the Divine Demon’s descent next to Gu Xi.

No matter where Gu Xi was, even if the first burst of flame didn’t take him, the Divine Demon descending afterward would kill Gu Xi.

However, the octopus-headed individual was an Undead Mage; he was not an expert Mage, nor had he studied sacrificial methods.

His understanding of the Divine Demon entirely relied on the information the Divine Demon was willing to give him out of favor.

He knew nothing about how to stabilize the teleportation channel, how to lock onto the Divine Demon, or how to communicate with the Divine Demon.

His current way of acting actually came from stealing some experience from his companions.

For the octopus-headed tribe, this kind of behavior was quite normal.

After all, they were all spirit experts, and spiritual communication was very natural.

In such a natural spirit exchange, certain things could be picked up.

Some things didn’t need to be specially learned; sometimes, just knowing someone specialized in that area, they could gather enough from the spiritual information that spilled over.

The octopus-headed Undead Mage was doing just that this time.

To ensure his sacrifice would succeed, he even did some extra preparation.

But the octopus-headed Undead Mage didn’t know that due to the curse of the White Bone Obelisk, he made a small error while setting up the sacrificial array.

And this small error directly misdirected the targeting.

Originally, the octopus-headed Undead intended to sacrifice in the direction of a Divine Demon named Bafumie.

Of course, a Divine Demon has more than just that name. For a Divine Demon, they certainly wouldn’t give their true name, only providing a segment of their name to the octopus-headed Undead Mage.

The octopus-headed Undead Mage translated this name into a language he could understand and used it in the sacrificial array.

Since his academic performance didn’t seem great, combined with his self-translation of the text and the curse of the White Bone Obelisk, the direction of the sacrifice inadvertently shifted to the Baphomet Altar.

Even though the sacrifice direction was only wrong by one character.

The direction was completely off.
