Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1019: Chapter 1017: The Enemy’s Death City

Getting up from the ground, Gu Xi decisively took action.

”Ghost Gate Opening!”

Although Gu Xi had used Ghost Gate Opening several times, this was the first time he had witnessed the effect of Ghost Gate Opening.

After he released his mana, Gu Xi felt a chill behind him, as countless breaths proactively connected to him.

Gu Xi understood that this was the selectable Ghost Gate.

After all, with so many paths on the Yellow Springs Road, the number of Ghost Gates was directly off the charts, and the number of wandering spirits inside was ridiculously high.

Previously, when Gu Xi used Ghost Gate Opening in a rush, he didn’t really pay attention to the situation in front of him.

But now things were different. If Gu Xi had time, he could completely choose the Ghost Gate at leisure.

He could even choose different mythological and gaming Ghost Gates to act on.

This meant that if Gu Xi knew the enemy’s origin, he could choose a Ghost Gate that restrained the enemy’s kind.

However, the current situation wasn’t suitable for this.

On the one hand, there wasn’t enough time, and on the other, Gu Xi didn’t understand the situation of the octopus heads and didn’t know their nemesis.

Plus, among the octopus heads was an Undead Mage.

So Gu Xi chose the most basic way of fighting.

Ghost Gate Opening, choosing the biggest.

With Gu Xi’s move,

a massive Skull Mountain made of white bones rose from the ground.

After this Skull Mountain appeared, it quickly grew higher, eventually transforming into a small volcano over thirty meters high, directly separating Gu Xi from the octopus heads.

The octopus heads holding water guns fired several shots in succession, all landing on the Skull Mountain. Each shot could blast bones flying everywhere but couldn’t hit Gu Xi.

Only the fastest-charging octopus-headed warriors reached Gu Xi, only to be suppressed by Gu Xi’s two Death Incarnations.

Not long after the ghostly mountain rose up like a hill, the first undead, resembling a dry corpse, crawled out from the top of the Skull Mountain.

Then a large number of undead surged like water towards the rear of the octopus heads.

Seeing the situation turning unfavorable, two octopus heads with water guns raised their weapons and launched an attack on the undead.

The power of their water guns was great, and the shooting speed was relatively fast, even able to spray continuously like a laser.

But there’s a problem, which is the water gun’s limited ammunition capacity.

As they kept shooting, their water guns ran out of water.

Forcing them to retreat backward for reloading.

Thus, the number of water bullets fired decreased, and the suppressed undead took the opportunity to pounce on the octopus heads.

By this time, the two magic-system octopus heads at the far back were ready.

The one who recognized the Death Incarnation at a glance had prepared when Ghost Gate Opening was initiated.

Before the undead from the Ghost Gate had surged out, a strange underground gate appeared behind him.

The pillars on either side of this gate were different: one looked like stalactites hanging from above, the other like an ant nest emerging from the ground.

Between the pillars was a group of mud monsters.

These mud monsters had bodies that were semi-transparent in various colors, and within their bodies, a variety of bones of different origins could be clearly seen.

If Gu Xi’s line of sight hadn’t been blocked by the Skull Mountain made by the Ghost Gate, he would’ve surely exclaimed.

”Death City!”

Because the octopus-headed Undead Mage was using Death City to project onto the City Gate.

This is something that an ordinary Undead Mage might struggle to distinguish, but Gu Xi, possessing the Death Three Divine Skills, had clarity in the matter.

Among the undead charging out from their City Gate, there were also some undead heroes belonging to the octopus heads.

These undead heroes were somewhat different from various other mud monster undead. They were also mud monster-like but noticeably larger, and unlike the mud monsters, their bodies didn’t just have bones of different origins mixed in.

Inside their bodies, there was a complete, untreated octopus head.

Under the leadership of these undead heroes, all the undead troops resembling mud quickly categorized into ranks and charged outward.

By this time, any normal person could see that, although these undead looked muddy, there was categorization within them.

These mud undead, like regular mud undead, were divided into skeleton soldiers, zombies, ghosts, vampires, and so on.

Except for a normal person who could only distinguish that the red, transparent mud monsters might be vampires, nothing else was identifiable.

Once the undead rushed out from the City Gate, they immediately encountered the undead appearing from the Skull Mountain formed by the Ghost Gate.

The undead surging out of the Ghost Gate were varied wandering spirits and ghosts, with some possessing strength while others being ordinary undead, all at various levels.

But the mud undead didn’t care about any of this.

When facing the descending undead, the mud undead collided head-on with them.

And they started fighting hard against these undead.

If a mud undead got killed by others, it was fine.

But if they killed other undead, things were different; their body would wrap around the undead’s corpse.

Afterward, the body of these mud monsters would grow bigger, until reaching a certain size, then quickly split into two or three clones.

This kind of mud undead doesn’t even need an Undead Mage to perform Soul Summoning, as they can summon themselves.

As the octopus-headed Undead Mage dealt with the Skull Mountain from the Ghost Gate, Gu Xi also, in coordination with his two Death Incarnations, killed the octopus-headed warrior.

This octopus-headed warrior had some pretty peculiar weapons.

But there’s a saying:

The weirder the weapon, the faster the death.

The octopus-headed warrior initially had good intentions; the short staff could serve as a shield as long as his movements were quick enough to block most attacks.

However, there’s a problem: why make the shield so big?

That’s a result of someone proving with their life that covering one’s entire body is the shield’s true purpose.

Facing attacks from all directions, a large shield can handle them.

While a short staff requires rapid hand movements to block them.

Herein lies the difference.

As for soft blades, their attack range is large, but in close combat, they’re completely ineffective.

Because when the soft blade recoils, it cuts the user themselves.

Additionally, with Gu Xi firing Magic Divine Arrows from behind, the two Death Incarnations easily suppressed this octopus-headed warrior.

Finally, before this octopus-headed warrior could react, the Death Incarnation - Death God sliced out the warrior’s soul with one scythe.

Yet, at this moment, Gu Xi’s expression was full of surprise.
