Three Towers Game

”But no matter how powerful you are, if you want to break any rules... never try to break the rules of life and death.”

Wen Tingyun looked at Wen Xishu and slowly walked over to stand beside him:

”Ah Shu, if what you are doing isn’t about this, if you came to the deceased world just to gather information, then I’m being talkative, but if you intend to take someone away... listen to me, Ah Shu, please don’t take anyone away! Go back quickly.”

Wen Tingyun patted Wen Xishu on the shoulder.

Wen Xishu remained silent.

He was pondering, scrutinizing the issue.

What he needed to decide was a choice of significant consequence. Wen Xishu kept thinking, exactly who should he take away.

After all... he was already here.

But now, he suddenly wondered, if it was truly possible to reverse life and death, if such an absolute rule was really broken by a ”bug.”

Have none of those powerful gods ever accomplished this?

The many obsessions of the Land of Obsession constructed the rules that allowed Wen Xishu to enter the Land of the Dead.

So who exactly does he need to save to quell these obsessions?

Perhaps there is simply no answer. The countless obsessions longing for resurrection won’t be quelled by reviving an individual.

After thinking for a while, Wen Xishu sincerely said:

”I’ve always cared about you all. What if I could bring you back to life? What if I am much more powerful than you imagine?”

Wen Tingyun almost instinctively waved his hand:

”Ah Shu! Have you really listened? I don’t regret dying, but if trying to revive me ends up killing you, that’s when I would truly have regrets. Don’t do anything foolish! Don’t do anything foolish!”

”I don’t know what you plan to do, but please... don’t stay in this world. We all miss you, but we absolutely don’t want to see you too soon!”

Wen Xishu was surprised by this answer, yet it seemed fitting of the Wen Family’s style.

Wen Xishu felt a warmth inside, but also a faint sorrow:

”I know what to do now, thank you. I’ll leave here, and you should leave too.”

Wen Tingyun was still worried:

”Are you sure? Please don’t do anything overstepping!”

Wen Xishu nodded:

”I understand. Rest assured, I won’t do anything foolish.”

He truly figured it out. The death countdown brought by the seven-colored flower had already made Wen Xishu inclined to retreat.

And Wen Tingyun’s appearance seemed more like a favor from fate.

Although he hadn’t encountered significant obstacles, it was foreseeable that infiltrating the Land of the Dead and taking a deceased person back to the world of the living... was not of the same difficulty.

And whether the rules of life and death could be broken or not, even if they were broken by him, it might not be a good thing.

Without lingering further, Wen Tingyun, after advising Wen Xishu, left again to avoid delaying Wen Xishu’s plan.

After Wen Tingyun left, Wen Xishu stood in the basement, talking to himself:

”I’m starting to envy you, your family... they are reliable.”

He was speaking to a fool.

The fool did not respond to Wen Xishu, and Wen Xishu didn’t mind.

He silently began to imagine the appearance of the seven-colored crow, then recited some words of praise for the crow.

Before long, Wen Xishu felt his body starting to turn transparent.

The seven-colored feather that had merged into his body was slowly withdrawing from his body.

And the words of the seven-colored crow finally appeared not as text but in the form of a voice.

”Ah, you actually plan to go back, tsk tsk tsk, you found the correct answer again.”

The seven-colored crow had unknowingly appeared on Wen Xishu’s shoulder.

Wen Xishu said:

”The correct answer?”

The seven-colored crow said:

”Greed is a great taboo. Being able to enter the Land of the Dead proves you have extraordinary abilities in your world.”

”Such people often think they can achieve miracles.”

”You probably have a similar mentality, but in the end, you made the right choice.”

Wen Xishu was startled:

”If I had really decided to take someone... would I likely die?”

The seven-colored crow laughed:

”I couldn’t tell you this before you made the decision, but since you made it... I’ll let you know.”

”Not likely, but certain death. Tell me, why did you suddenly give up? If the one you sought, Jin Zhenyuan... truly existed here, would you have taken him?”

Wen Xishu felt a chill down his spine, suddenly realizing that this journey itself might have been a conspiracy.

”Perhaps? I’m not certain. Indeed, I gave up taking someone because, for one, there’s no one here I would risk my life to take...”

”Secondly, my family warned me not to try taking anyone away from here.”

”His warning was meaningful.”

”Previously, I didn’t carefully consider the question. Now thinking back, the answer seemed implied from the start?”

”You mentioned earlier that this is a bug, and there won’t be a second time.”

”At the time, I wondered why someone from the Underworld like you didn’t fix this bug. Which god in the living world is bribing you?”

”But later, I realized something was off... because it was too free. You even gave me a time difference of three years.”

”Too many choices could be made here, and you offered no hints, no directions. It seemed you just wanted to see me take a dead person away, regardless of who it was.”

”If it was really a god of the living world connected with you... he should have some agenda.”

”Now it appears, you might not be refusing to fix it, but wanting to use this bug to test something? Your care for me wasn’t because I’m a living person, but because you are the one setting the question.”

”Throughout this journey, I faced many perplexities, and you explained them in text. When the first soul dissipated, normally, the Minotaur should have come for me, but he didn’t…”

”You also hinted through text, telling me not to seek revenge, to focus on my own task.”

”You helped me a lot because I had not yet entered the test phase, so I couldn’t die.”

The seven-colored crow exclaimed:

”Impressive, I suddenly became very curious about your adventure in the world of the living. But unfortunately, I can’t see it. I’ll clearly tell you, no one bribed me~”

”It’s just that in the Obsession World, indeed, some obsessions seeped into the Netherworld, but the Netherworld is a realm with stronger rules.”

”We wanted to test the difference between the two worlds. The absolutes of life and death must not be shaken. If you truly attempted to shake them—”

”As I told you, I’d take care of you. Provided you died.”

”By letting go of your obsession with the dead, you could leave this obsession journey alive. You did well.”

Wen Xishu smiled, was it really like that?

”Since I didn’t take anyone, the process of my return should be relatively smooth, right?”

”Also, could you tell me your status in the Netherworld?”
