Three Towers Game

The Upper Spirit Realm, to Wen Xishu, feels very much like a bustling ancient city.

Of course, this is undoubtedly just one part of the Upper Spirit Realm.

According to the multicolored crow, the world of the deceased is just a door, yet infinitely vast. The worlds it contains are truly the grand multiverse.

What we see now is likely a place from ancient times.

The souls here dress in a very antique fashion.

But occasionally you can see some dressed in more advanced modern styles, or even very post-modern ones.

Walking out of the dark alley, the place where Wen Xishu stands seems to be a very famous ”snack street.”

The fact that dead people also need to eat surprises Wen Xishu. And it seems that some ”tourists” from other timelines come just for the food.

”Time travel causes significant bugs in the world of the living, but indeed, in the world of the dead, it’s not an issue.”

[These spirits are living leisurely lives, but what surprises you more is that spirits actually need to eat. Is it possible for the already dead to starve? Well, let me tell you the answer. They eat desire. The Upper Spirit Realm is a world for those deemed ’good people’ while alive. However, you will find many ’bad people’ in your eyes here. Time changes everything, doesn’t it?]

Prompt?

Wen Xishu wasn’t too surprised; he immediately guessed the result, an ability brought by the multicolored crow.

”Suddenly, it feels like a word game... The crow mentioned earlier that this uses a bug to attempt a one-time successful smuggling of the dead.”

”So who was it who initially contacted the crow?”

Wen Xishu thought of the constellations.

The concept of the Upper Spirit is similar to paradise.

In paradise, naturally, reside the souls considered good people.

Of course, good, bad, kind, evil—all these will change over time. And indeed, defining a person’s goodness or evilness is quite challenging.

”They eat desires... that’s quite reasonable. Many good people couldn’t fulfill their desires while alive, so naturally, they get to satisfy various desires after death.”

Wen Xishu didn’t linger too long and headed toward the inn.

Time carriages have different names in different eras. In the post-modern era, they are called time travel trains.

In front of the inn, it was naturally bustling, with a long queue. From a distance, it didn’t seem noticeable, but upon entering the inn, he was instantly transported to a vast area filled with human souls.

Wen Xishu arrived at the inn and merely took a ticket that stated there were still 194,551 people ahead.

Wen Xishu frowned:

”That’s a huge number of people...”

Wen Xishu had heard something about NetEase’s ”one hundred thousand ghost soldiers” before, but today he truly witnessed what a grand scale ten thousand is.

The inn could process around seven hundred people per minute, so it wouldn’t be a long wait, but Wen Xishu still wasn’t keen on waiting.

At this moment, a person wearing an extravagant hat, taller than a human, and dressed in a white robe akin to a funeral robe, shouted, ”Six merit coins can get you into the VIP waiting area, thirty merit coins to the VVIP area, one hundred and twenty-eight merit coins for a VVIP monthly pass, and six hundred and forty-eight merit coins to board immediately.”

Wen Xishu was a bit confused, realizing that even in the world of the dead, they need to earn.

Although they can enjoy some ”desires,” clearly not everything goes smoothly.

[In the world of the deceased, everyone needs to accumulate merit. As a beginner, you will have one thousand merit. Your time is tight, so you better make a choice.]

A text prompt appeared again.

Wen Xishu wasn’t truly dead, and according to the multicolored crow, bull-headed and horse-faced creatures might come to capture him at any moment.

Therefore, he really couldn’t stay too long in one place.

”I’ll pay 648 merit coins; I need to board immediately.”

The tall-hatted creature’s eyes glowed:

”Really? Oh! Although I have never seen your face, at this moment, you are so magnificent! You must have saved the world while alive to be able to spend merit so lavishly after death.”

In fact, after death, all souls are equal, at least in terms of wealth. In life, only morality determines which Spiritual Area they venture into.

Merit is something that can only be earned after death.

Wen Xishu said:

”Lead the way. I’m in a hurry.”

”No problem.”

The tall-hatted creature, dressed like a mourning attire, led Wen Xishu deep into the inn, attracting many envious glances along the way.

Wen Xishu wasn’t sure what a thousand merits truly meant, but the current emotional value was indeed overwhelming.

The envious glances, even slight sourness and jealousy, made Wen Xishu realize the multicolored crow was very generous.

Or rather —

The person who bribed the multicolored crow was very generous.

What puzzled Wen Xishu was why, in a one-time rescue with only one possibility of success, that person didn’t specify a target but rather allowed the tower climbers to seek freely?

What if I save someone incompetent, won’t he explode?

Of course, Wen Xishu wouldn’t save someone incompetent. But he couldn’t help but grow more curious about which constellation’s handiwork it was, and even more curious about what experiences lie ahead.

The carriage stood right before him, the coachman’s head resembling a starlit sky, albeit small, but looking at it was akin to gazing at the stars.

”Guest, which timeline would you like to travel to? You have a rather special identity, possessing the starting point of two timelines. It truly is astonishing.”

The coachman, with his starlit head, gazed at Wen Xishu.
