Three Towers Game

Level · Orange. Just like the Scorpion Knife, it can also be upgraded.

It can be enhanced by certain special effects from the Mad Dice, such as ”Quality Upgrade,” achievable only when two prime numbers are among the three dice.

The effect of the Competitive Horn is also difficult to evaluate with fixed scores.

Although Wen Xishu was pleased to obtain two orange items, judging by the description, it was hard to say the Competitive Horn would necessarily be a divine aid.

The item’s description is as follows:

”Taurus always loves various competitions and events. When you explore the Deceit Tower, regardless of the current Deceit Tower rules, a special contest favorable to you will be generated in that area. Note: Not only you, any creature in the Deceit Tower can participate in the contest and obtain competition prizes. The prizes are extremely abundant and can even influence the difficulty of Deceit Tower levels.”

”Note: The targets who die in the contest will be sacrificed to the item’s maker (not the holder).”

Upon reading this description, Wen Xishu began to ponder.

”The Scorpion Knife, making all Deceit Tower explorations gamified.”

”This Competitive Horn seems to be at the same level, making all Deceit Tower explorations contest-like?”

At first glance, it’s somewhat troublesome.

If the first time climbing the tower, facing Jack’s pursuit, a prompt suddenly popped up: On the top floor of Jack’s Mysterious Tower, the object of this competition is hidden; whoever finds it first can win the competition...

Then Jack obtained it, Jack was strengthened, and the risks I face became even greater.

Thinking about it this way, there indeed seems to be a feeling of charity work; without a doubt, this thing increased the risks and uncertainties of Deceit Tower exploration.

But Wen Xishu speculated, considering it mentioned ”rules favorable to you,” presumably... in some scenarios, it can have miraculous effects.

Unable to win a fight, but can surpass through other competitions, thereby exceeding in strength.

”Not bad; basically, it changes some Deceit Tower mechanisms, at the same level as the Scorpion Knife, quite reasonable.”

The Competitive Horn was indeed a genuine orange item.

Wen Xishu also guessed—or rather knew directly—that this thing came from Taurus.

”Taurus is quite generous.”

Wen Xishu began examining the second item.

A scale.

This unbelievably light scale was also a genuine orange tool.

The item’s description is as follows:

”Libra always loves chaos; if there are chess pieces of two colors on the board, what he loves most is to make a third color appear.”

”When exploring the Deceit Tower, you can temporarily abandon an item this round; the item will be disabled until the next exploration of the Deceit Tower, and the item does not need to belong to you as long as you can place it on either side of the scale.”

Seeing this, Wen Xishu realized this thing could have a silence effect; in other words, if there was a way to seize someone else’s item and place it on one end of Libra, the item could be disabled, losing its original function.

Of course, if it were only for silencing and locking items, it wouldn’t be a match for Ding Dong’s gloves.

The greatest effect of this item lies in chaos.

”The Sacred Scale of Chaos will create a corresponding level ’Third Force’ based on the level of the item. The Third Force will constantly disrupt and disturb the battlefield but will remain neutral and friendly towards the owner of the Sacred Scale of Chaos for the first two hours.”

This is the complete description of the Sacred Scale of Chaos.

After reading this description, Wen Xishu understood the use of this item.

”If I were to place Taurus’s Competitive Horn on the Sacred Scale of Chaos... the Sacred Scale would summon a powerful third-party neutral chaotic evil unit.”

”It would constantly destroy everything in the original Deceit Tower level, attack the bosses in the Deceit Tower, but also attack me exploring the Deceit Tower.”

”In other words, what this scale can do is create chaos, create third-party forces to disrupt the situation.”

”And just like Taurus’s Competitive Horn, there are benefits for me, which is that in the first two hours... the third-party forces will not attack me.”

It also seems like a troublesome thing, after all... the Third Force variable is too large. Moreover, destroying the Deceit Tower scene is likely to lead to the loss of some key information.

For example, if a third-party force is summoned in the Reversed Seven Mansion, causing the inhabitants to die... then the clues would be cut off.

But from another perspective, as long as it’s used well, it can also be a unique force.

Wen Xishu suddenly thought of the Ark; if he had placed a pile of orange tools on the other side of the Sacred Scale of Chaos while on the Ark then...

Would the summoned third-party force be able to violently eliminate the captain?

However, Wen Xishu still considered some risks:

”The introduction only mentioned how to summon but did not mention how to cancel. There are two possibilities: the summoned creatures have a duration, disappearing after a while...”

”But it’s also possible they are permanent. If permanent... means that every time I use this thing, it permanently creates a new force for the world.”

Combining the first item... Wen Xishu suddenly realized that using the power of the constellations comes at a cost.

Undoubtedly, he can use the Competitive Horn to create a contest, obtain extra rewards, but during this process, participants who die will be sacrificed to Taurus.

Similarly, if using the Sacred Scale of Chaos, the chaos in this world will permanently increase.

Competitive Taurus, Chaotic Libra...

Wen Xishu has to admit, this is quite different from the personalities of Taurus and Libra that he had in mind.

Yet similarly, these two orange items possess enough power to change the situation.

Wen Xishu is just very curious...

”What is the cost of using the Scorpion Knife?”

To date, he has obtained three constellation items.

Scorpion Knife, Competitive Horn, Sacred Scale of Chaos.

He has already figured out the cost of the latter two, but what about Scorpio?

”Have I already fallen into his game?”

Wen Xishu suddenly remembered Scorpio had made him fight Pisces earlier and would later make him confront Lion...

Is the cost of using game power to become part of the game?

Are these constellations really worth trusting?

Shaking his head, Wen Xishu quickly turned to the guide:

”What level of completion?”

The guide said:

”Level 6. Apart from supplies, there are no other rewards. The exploration of this Deceit Tower has already been quite abundant; you now... can be said to be a very peculiar existence.”

Truly so.

Wen Xishu pondered, realizing there were indeed many bizarre means on him.

”How long have I stayed in the competition?”

”Two days.”

”So long...” Wen Xishu slightly surprised, feeling like it hadn’t been that long.

The guide said:

”The bizarre competition, which has operated for decades, was overturned by you in just two days; you truly are a super big variable. No wonder some big figures are fond of you.”

Wen Xishu couldn’t help but think, in those two days... how had things gone with Mr. Jin? Upon returning to the bunker, would he receive news that Mr. Jin had already gone to the Slaughter Tower?

And... how to interact with Xiaojin after awakening? Suppose Mr. Jin dies, truly as he said, his death could reset everything—would Xiaojin disappear?

How would the old principal react?

Wen Xishu had a feeling that the bunker was about to undergo significant events.

”I should go back.” Wen Xishu bid farewell to the guide.

The guide smiled:

”Yes, you should go back; in fact, some history is already changing. Some things haven’t happened yet, but in this process, everyone is already aware that you are a variable.”

”How much longer can your secret last?”

”What do you mean?” Wen Xishu was puzzled.

The deceitful head shrank:

”It’s hard to say. It’s hard to say, not saying is better~ Good luck, Tower Climber, see you next time.”

Wen Xishu said no more; after all, guides have always been like this, and he decisively activated the login device.
