Three Towers Game

He thought, although he and the fool were the same body, in some sense, it’s not accurate to say he was the fool’s brother...

But he should protect the fool, at least not let him be bullied.

Yet, Wen Xishu found that he couldn’t make a move.

Wen Tingyun grabbed Wen Xishu’s collar and mocked:

”I thought you were more capable? Tsk, waste will always be waste, look at you, so timid, tears are even flowing from your eyes, are you going to cry again?”

”Let me tell you, Wen Chaohua won’t die, he won’t come here to save you.”

Wen Tingyun’s tone became more and more agitated, he wanted to mock and humiliate this fool.

But those excited emotions, that resentment and sadness made him seem so hysterical. The fool’s eyes were misty, yet his own eyes were also red.

His grip was very strong, in the Upper Spirit District of the Netherworld, or the world of the dead, spirit bodies and spirit bodies wouldn’t have any conflict because they couldn’t cause harm.

But his reddened knuckles showed that he was really exerting great force, those emotions seemed to burst through the soul.

”Every now and then, I come to check... two names.”

”I never understood, Wen Xishu, I really don’t understand... why is it you?”

”Me, Wen Tingyun, where am I not better than you? I forgot the reason I died, but I remember! In the Wen Family, not a single one of us is cowardly. When Chaohua’s plan was proposed, even if it was so absurd, even if we didn’t understand what it meant! Even if that cost... was so heavy, we were willing!”

”But I just won’t accept it, I am just resentful!”

The word ’hate’ was said with such desolation and determination, Wen Tingyun’s eyes could almost tear:

”Everyone died, father died, mother also died! My brother Wen Xingfeng also died, all the Wen family members... all of them should have had a bright future!”

”But they, we... all died in this plan.”

”Only you... were taken out of this plan because Wen Chaohua couldn’t bear to lose you. From childhood to adulthood, you were his most treasured!”

”But why? Every one of us, who among us was not better than you, this waste? Who among us didn’t have more potential than you? Why are you the one who survived? Why can’t I be the one who survived?”

That absolute resentment and hatred were written all over the eighteen or nineteen-year-old Wen Tingyun’s face, he gritted his teeth, and tears unknowingly fell:

”You useless thing! You useless thing! How can you die!”

Sadness like a tide pulled by the moon drowned the anger on his face.

Suddenly, Wen Xishu understood...

The reason he couldn’t make a move was not out of fear, but because of... reconciliation.

The fool had long forgiven the Wen family members who had bullied him in the past.

Wen Tingyun cursed the foolish waste, but seeing Wen Xishu at this moment, he also cried uncontrollably:

”Everything is for you, everything is for you, for you, the waste... do you know, do you know Wen Xishu, I envied you since childhood, every time I bullied you, Wen Chaohua would always come to help you, then I went to complain to my brother, my brother would only say, don’t bully Little Tree.”

”I just don’t understand... why, having a brother of my own, can the relationship between you brothers be so good!”

”Wen Chaohua is the pride of the Wen Family, his ranks in the Three Towers are always at the forefront, he seems without flaws, an absolute genius.”

”I so wished I was his brother, I hoped I also had such a brother, I really wanted to let him know by bullying you how foolish and unbearable you are, like mud that couldn’t be shaped into a wall.”

”But he is always very very good to you, as if owing an endless debt.”

”The entire Wen Family... the entire family would have perished for that plan, but yet... he left you, the one who is still alive, is you, this fool.”

”I really can’t be reconciled, because I also wanted to chase those people, chase Xun Hui, chase Wenren Mirror, I also wanted to be the pride of the Wen Family. But facing that plan, just like everyone, I could only choose to die.”

”So...”

”How can you die?”

”Wen Xishu, how can you die here? You should carry the future of all of us and live freely, you waste, how can you die?”

Wen Tingyun cried bitterly, and the hand holding Wen Xishu’s collar, at some point, had already withdrawn. His tears could not be stopped.

As if the tears he had made the fool shed when they were young were all being returned to him in full.

But that kind of sadness and fear was far stronger than what the fool had experienced back then.

Wen Tingyun seemed to be utterly broken.

Wen Tingyun and Wen Xishu were actually born the same year. But Wen Tingyun... died in battle at the Slaughter Tower. While Wen Xishu, due to some defects, stayed in the Bunker.

In the Wen family’s entire plan, Wen Chaohua had mentioned more than once that Little Tree was the key.

Wen Tingyun was very jealous.

After death, he came to the Netherworld, he once vowed that if he saw Wen Xishu too early in the Netherworld, he would surely give Wen Xishu a good thrashing, making him a laughing stock without Wen Chaohua around.

To vent all his pent-up grievances and resentment on the fool.

But when he really saw Wen Xishu, he had to cover his sadness with anger.

Among the few who regularly checked the death roster, there was Wen Tingyun, because Wen Tingyun feared that Wen Xishu’s name would appear too early on the death roster.
