Chapter 253: The Struggle and Success!

Even for Xator, dying so many times began affecting his laidback attitude. Even for him, dying so many times was too much to take, so unaware, the lazy appearance his body carried all the time had turned straight.

Not even a hint of laziness could be seen from his body or eyes as he expressionlessly looked at the guard Valkyrie when she called him for the umpteenth time.

Even though his body forgot the sensation of facing the pressure after every death, his mental strength had gotten stronger as well as the pressure couldnʼt catch him off guard.

Despite the pressure beginning to affect him, he didnʼt even flinch and took a step forward. In less than a second, he completed one step, now only four steps away from completing the quest.

His feet had just landed on the ground when the pressure on him doubled. He still didnʼt show any change on his expressionless face and took another step.

Again, it took less than a second for him to complete it. Finally, a struggling change appeared on his face as the pressure had now quadrupled.

Gritting his teeth, he raised his right foot, and cracking sounds began erupting from his body. Xator could feel his bone cracking due to the pressure and which in turn was uncomfortable and painful for him.

Xator still didnʼt put his foot down and completed the third step when suddenly he couldnʼt help but stumble. He knew if he fell in this situation, he would never be able to stand up again since the pressure had increased by eight times.

Before he could fall, he used his hands to balance himself, which in turn made him stand in a weird posture. His left hand touched the ground while his right hand was in the air.

The pressure released by the guard Valkyrie was strongest at the bottom and gradually weakened as it went up. So when Xatorʼs left hand touched the ground, it wasnʼt ready or able to handle the pressure at that intensity, and his veins began rupturing.

Xator couldnʼt help but scream in pain. Despite feeling the pain with even more intensity during the quest, the feeling and pain remained the same as if it was the first time he felt such.

Xator didnʼt give up and continued to hold his ground steady. A few seconds later, when he could finally stand straight, he had a crushed hand instead. His hand had gotten mashed to such an extent that with a slight touch, it would burst.

As expected, with only a slight pressure, it exploded. Xator greeted his teeth and raised his left foot to complete his fourth step.

”Ugh!”

”Ugh!”

”Ugh!”

He continuously groaned in pain as his left foot went past his right foot and then landed on the ground.

The moment his foot landed, the pressure on Xator doubled and was now sixteen times the initial pressure. His toes werenʼt able to handle pressure with such intensity and exploded in blood mist right away.

Xator screamed his guts out in response and raised his right foot to take the last step. He knew he had no time to wait since it would only take seconds for his entire left foot to burst into a blood mist and then his leg.

His scream continued as his left foot continued bursting while his right foot continued and went past his left foot.

”AARGH!”

His screams turned louder with each passing moment. At one point, it turned into a shrill, but Xator didnʼt give up.

His struggle continued as his right foot finally landed on the ground.

The moment his foot landed on the ground, his left foot entirely exploded into a blood mist. Xator didnʼt feel anything this time as he noticed the blood mist freezing in the air, the sixteen times pressure on him disappearing, the guard Valkyrieʼs face freezing, and a blue window appearing in front of him.

[Congratulations, Adventurer, for completing the quest.

You have shown grit and successfully reached the weakest guard of the Townhead, braving past the pressure and pain.

You now had two choices:

If you continue and take one more step, you will get the bonus reward.

Or, you can complete the quest here and only get the mission reward.]

Xator expressionlessly looked at the screen in front of him.

”Do you think Iʼm a Masochist?” Xator muttered as he decided to complete the quest here and chose the second option.

Even though he had already felt so much pain, it wasnʼt of his choice. If he were to let go of the pain, he wouldʼve failed the quest, but now that Xator had completed it, why would he face thirty-two times the pressure and see another part of his body bursting into blood mist.

After he had chosen his option, the time that had frozen for him began flowing again.

The next moment, a blue light suddenly engulfed him.

Xator felt so much comfortable that he moaned in pleasure, but the feeling didnʼt last for long, and before he could savor it, the feeling and blue light surrounding him disappeared.

All the body parts he had lost due to the pressure had gotten restored, and Xator could also feel that he had gotten stronger than when he began the quest.

The air around him also looked different as earlier what looked nothing to him, but now he could see several blobs of lights in the air. He tried to call them, but unfortunately, the particles remained steady in the air.

”Hmph, one more step, and you wouldʼve gained an increase of ten levels and an evolution.”

A sudden scoff filled with disappointment broke Xator out of his thought process. He looked and saw the guard had an expression of looking down on him.

He didnʼt care what the guard felt, so he ignored her reaction and instead looked around his surroundings. It had already been more than three hours since he appeared in the town, but he still hadnʼt seen anything in this town other than the Saint Valkyries.

Time flew by.

Aakesh has just concluded the introduction of his store products for the umpteenth time for today in front of another new customer.

The customer then asked for what he wanted and left the queue, while another new customer took his place, and Aakesh began his usual routine of introducing again.
