Chapter 1599 - 25 Airships

The resistance in the Ardagan familyʼs territory was much greater than the rest of the world.

The people had filled the fortress, preparing themselves to fight against the demons.

However, those who were in the much deeper territory would see the same majestic sight.

The sun would be covered for a while as over 25 airships were flying to the outer border in a formation.

The people couldnʼt help but cheer as their lord was sending out one of their cards right away. And the one leading them was none other than Rui.

Grandel stood in front. Now that he had become the pillar of defense, he had become the commander of the Ardagan family.

As he looked at the distance, he noticed the demons gradually filling his vision. The attacks didnʼt come only from the land demons.

He could see that the demons were truly coming at them at full force as he found numerous plant-type demons that were known for their unique ability and countless flying demons that were notorious for their versatility.

Grandel raised his hand. ”Get ready to intercept the demons. Ask Pillar of Research, Dame Felicia, to get ready to intercept the demons. We will create a funnel that will guide the demons to the killing zone.

”Send the first squad, second squad, and third squad to the left. Have them linked up with the direction and cooperate with Miss Incetta. We will use Miss Incettaʼs city as an anchor.

”The fourth, fifth, and sixth squads will go to the right. Match their position with Sir Howardʼs city and Young Master Tristanʼs city.”

Grandelʼs order had changed, both in the depth of his plan and in the decisiveness.

18 airships immediately broke away from the formation as each squad took three airships. They lined up according to their original plan, preparing to intercept the enemy.

Rui was quite impressed with the armyʼs movement. ʼTo think something like this is possible. Grandel has grown so much in the past few months. No, Master must have foreseen this situation from the beginning.

ʼHe knows that Howard might be the wall that is hindering Grandel from growing to his full potential. Hence, he gave Howard a promotion to let Grandel grow.ʼ

Rui nodded in understanding before saying, ”You may go wild, Grandel. It looks like there are at least 600,000 demons coming toward us. Or there might be even more behind this one, so we have to go all out from the beginning.”

”Yes. Donʼt worry, Miss Rui. Before we left, I intentionally brought more demon crystals with us, so they might sustain us much longer than usual.”

”Good. There should be some ancient demons coming, so make sure you donʼt forget that. Incetta and I are here, but three of the battleships have the executioner runes.”

Grandel nodded. ”From what I have heard, Lord Noel has prepared another trump card to take down the ancient demons. Do you know anything about this?”

”I am aware of it, but he hasnʼt told me about the specifics.”

Grandel looked down, contemplating. ”I see. The lord might want to hide this from us, not because the secrecy is necessary, but because he wants to create a hope. The number of demons is so large that it wonʼt be easy for us to hold them back.”

Rui nodded. ”So, if people know we still have a trump card, they will feel more confident.”

”Indeed. Besides, we still have about 15 more airships. He must plan to send them to another territory.”

”Unfortunately, you wonʼt get anything from me. Even right now, no one has been able to see through our lord completely.”

Grandel smiled. ”Indeed. It looks like I have spoken too much. As a soldier, I only need to do one thing. Obey the commands.”

Rui nodded. ”In any case, you arrange everything.”

”Understood.” Grandel politely nodded as he watched Rui walk away.

Nine airships had been positioned to the left and created a diagonal line. Another nine airships mirrored their positions on the other side. The remaining seven airships stood in the center.

Grandel raised his hand. ”Get ready!”

The airships turned around, pointing the side toward the demons.

”Captain. The enemy is about to arrive.”

Grandel clenched his hand into a fist as if he wanted them to shut up. He was waiting a bit more until the demons couldnʼt change their direction.

Once they passed that distance, Grandel waved down his hand. ”Fire.”

”Oohhh!”

The airships activated the Rain of Light Runes at the same time. The firepower was more than 5 times the firepower the Demon Banner Army possessed.

After all, three of the battleships were bigger, focusing on firepower and strength rather than speed. It was like a moving fortress in the sky.

Still, the 18 airships on the side had a different task. Instead of eliminating the demons, their mission was to redirect the demons. Hence, they shot the sides, which lowered their killing count.

However, thanks to their efforts, the demons were moving and moving closer to the center and continued on a straight line.

”Start retreating! Be careful with your position!” Grandel continued giving his order.

All the airships gradually moved back as though they were retreating due to the immense number of the demons. But the real intention was to lure the demons deeper and let them fall into their funnel trap.

As they moved, the demons continued to be mowed down by the airships.

Finally, they reached the anchor cities.

Incetta and Tristan had been waiting for their arrivals. Howard was slightly further south, but he, too, was ready for the clash.

”Activate!” Incetta and Tristan shouted.

Suddenly, multiple runes emerged on the city wall, reinforcing its strength. This was the same reinforcement as Noelʼs Golden Dawn City, so it would be the sturdiest fortress they could find in this place.

Tristan had prepared a trump card for Noel, but the latter had sealed it for the time being. He was waiting until the time he could use that trump card.

On the other hand, Incettaʼs trump card was much more obvious. ”Letʼs go! Tell them to let us handle the left side.”

The Ardagan familyʼs navy sailed upstream, planning to take the airshipsʼ role.”

The first, second, and third squads immediately rejoined Grandell as Grandel smiled, ”Itʼs time. Kill them all.”
