System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1574: Realization

Inside the cave, Noel, the Phantom, and the Arctic Queen sat surrounding the fire. Noel’s expression remained solemn the whole time, wanting to figure out her condition.

Noel began by explaining his own understanding. ”Your technique allows me to separate the mind, which grants me the ability to do two things at the same time. That’s why I have been able to utilize both elements at the same time.

”However, no matter how hard I try to figure out this technique, there are things that only the original creator can understand.

”I’d like to know how you came up with this technique in the first place and all kinds of experiences you have faced. From my understanding, I have gained enough to believe this technique is the clue I’m searching for.”

Melissa nodded in understanding. ”In that case, I’ll tell you from the beginning.”

She pointed at her own eyes, which were different in color. ”You may have noticed it in my eyes, but I’m not exactly one thing.

”For as long as I can remember, I have always seen the world in two colors due to my pupils. People are avoiding me because I’m different. I won’t talk much about my life, but you probably already know what happens to someone like me.”

Noel just remained silent, but he agreed with her. Melissa’s past would definitely be something she wanted to forget. With people avoiding her, she couldn’t do anything.

”It was at that time I decided that I would get away from my own tribe to get a life I deserved. At one point, I came across a person who taught me how to become stronger. I studied under him for five years before he passed away due to illness.”

”I’m sorry.”

Melissa nodded. ”Under him, I would always encounter one problem. It might be my pupils or it might be something else.

”However, I couldn’t really utilize spiritual energy. Whenever I tried to do it, the energy would disperse due to the imbalance in my body. To put it simply, if I moved my power to the right, the left side of my body would lack power, which would cause the power that had been directed to the right to return to the left.

”So, I kept trying to use the spiritual energy so that I could achieve my goal. After 7 years, I came across a certain way of thinking.

”What if I just separated them completely? In other words, what if I could separate two things within my body so that the imbalance wouldn’t occur?

”If I remained as one, it would cause the imbalance after all. It occurred to me that everyone in the Beast Kingdom was a half-breed.

”I might be just more half-breed than them, literally. The one half kept causing trouble to the other half.

”In that case, I should separate the two. The blood of the animals and the blood of the humans. I concentrated my power into this spot, but it couldn’t be done just because I wanted it. I need something to maintain the separation.

”That’s when I came up with the Mind Separation Technique. I split my mind in two so that one mind could take care of one side while the other mind took care of the other. This was the origin of my Mind Separation Technique.”

”...” Noel fell silent while looking down. If he ignored the story, the information made him doubt whether he could actually use it as a new clue to form the complete answer or not.

However, there was one thing that he had to keep in mind. The key to the success might not be in the mind, but in his flame.

This meant the body reconstruction required his flame, not his mind, to do it. When Ardagan fused with him, the Spirit God used the power of absolute flame to create that body.

”Two bodies... Fusion... absolute flame... two minds... separation...” Noel scratched the back of his head as he couldn’t find the answer.

”I don’t know if this can help you, but for my Separation Technique, there is one most important thing. This is not covered in the manual because this was the main problem I had to solve when I came up with this technique. It is the concentration on both sides.

”I concentrated on these two powers here.” She pointed at her own eyes. ”At that time, I chose my eyes because I hated them, so I gave a reason to like them. These days, people knew that my eyes were the reason I could become this strong.”

”!!!” Noel suddenly widened his eyes. ”The concentration of power...”

Melissa tilted her head, not knowing what he had just realized.

Noel looked down and asked inwardly, ’Ardagan. Do you remember the fact that both you and Heisk once fought for a position in my body?’

[Are you talking about the position of our Spirit Seal, Master? Yes, I do remember.]

’Now that I think about it, if I want the two elements to fuse, why would the Spirit Seal remain separated?’

Ardagan didn’t answer his question, but he seemed to notice the problem.

’The answer I’ve been looking for might be related to the spirit seal. Unlike the others, I should have only one spirit seal.

’This is where the concentration of my power is. Because I’m also a spirit, doesn’t that mean I should create my own spirit seal?

’My spirit seal will contain both of your seals. This will be at the core of the fusion. And since what we want is fusion, the core has to be linked to everything within the body, which doesn’t violate the principle of what we’re attempting right now.’

[If that’s the case, you have to create your own spirit seal. But how about them? Can you use that principle in their situations as well?]

’Yes. They are different from humans because their senses and their bodies are different. In other words, if I can just concentrate their power on those few parts, which are linked to the entire body, it will not violate the principle.’

Noel’s heart beat faster, wondering if he had just found the solution he was looking for.
