Chapter 1562: Telling the Truth

Noel walked across the building before noticing the lightning sparking around the garden.

He couldnʼt help but stop for a moment. Annaʼs figure was visible from the mansion.

She was floating two meters above the ground, meditating while holding her sword.

The lightning sparked violently, scaring people. The people would probably try to avoid going around the area, thinking they would get hit by the violent lightning.

Yet, despite its appearance, the lightning didnʼt harm anyone or anything. It didnʼt shatter the ground or electrocute the grass on the ground.

It looked violent, yet it was gentle.

”This is…” Noel muttered.

”Whatʼs wrong?” Rose tilted her head in confusion.

”My lord?” Elaine furrowed her eyebrows. She checked the documents she was holding again, thinking about reminding him that they had an important matter today.

Noel fell silent for a moment. ”Rose. Tell the people not to come close to the garden. Bring a few people to guard the garden.”

”I understand. Is there something wrong with Anna?”

”Not necessarily. She might have found her answer.”

”Ah! Do you mean…” Rose gulped. She just heard something incredible. There was only one answer he could talk about.

It was the answer to the mystery of the spirit king. If Noel confirmed it, it meant Anna would soon become a spirit king. This meant they would have the chance to go to an all-out war with the two demon kings.

Noel just smiled, mesmerized. It looked as if their plan was about to succeed. The reason Anna could do this was probably the gem of immortality. Thanks to the other half, Anna could strengthen the soul, which was needed to reach her answer.

Meanwhile, Noel didnʼt need to strengthen his soul because the answer they found was different.

Anna wanted to combine the violent and the calm side by constructing her spiritual energy to accommodate her answer. Meanwhile, Noel fused his two elements by using the Everchanging Emotion Sword Style as the foundation.

If Noel gave Anna the clue, Anna would try to come up with an answer with the clue. And that answer might not be what she currently gets.

That was why Noel didnʼt want to say anything. He had shown her enough during the battle. The rest was up to her.

”Congratulations, my lord.” Elaine calmly bowed her head. ”However, you shouldnʼt forget about todayʼs matter. There are two things that need your immediate attention.”

”...” Noel smiled. That was right. He could be happy, but he definitely needed to finish his work. ”I know. Letʼs go to the office right now.”

As they walked, Noel extended his hand as Elaine handed over the documents.

”This is a defense pact with several lords. With this, you may send your troops to their place as a reinforcement.

”It looks like they are also scared of the fact that they have to face an ancient demon.”

Noel carefully read it before saying, ”Do we have enough people to handle it? We donʼt know how many ancient demons will appear…”

”According to you, my lord, we have three spirit transcendence. There is also Marshal Conrad and Duke Lorelei along with Commander Oscar and Miss Milfa. That means we have seven spirit transcendences.

”Of course, if you want to take into account Saintess Layla, we will have eight people.

”The Greenwood Kingdom has 4 people, including your respected grandfather. The Atracaeca Kingdom is the weakest right now because it has only one Grand Protector. On the other hand, the Zaecuria Kingdom has 3.”

”We will probably have one more.” Noel raised one finger, believing Laufey would succeed. He was already close to becoming one when he was still in the organization anyway.

And Anna was the only person who knew about Leysha.

Noel thought for a moment before raising one more finger. ”Never mind, there will be two people. This is why I have to clear up my family name in the first place.”

”Pardon?” Elaine was perplexed.

”My mother is already a spirit transcendence. Besides, I believe my uncle will become one soon.”

”!!!” Elaine was shocked. ”Your uncle… Your mother… My lord…”

”They are still alive.” Rose smiled wryly. ”Well, I know Laufey Ardagan is that masked man, but your mother…”

Noel shrugged. ”There you have it. Now you two know about it too.”

”Noel… I mean, my lord, please donʼt drop something that heavy without any warning. We are not even in your office. The wall here has ears…”

”Do you think they can have ears with me here?”

”Thatʼs not what I mean…” Rose facepalmed before letting out a long sigh.

”But my lord… I apologize if Iʼm being rude right now, but arenʼt they…”

”Executed?” Noel shook his head. ”No. They have been tracking the organization all this time. In the last battleʼs report, you have read about the two reinforcements, right?”

”Yes.”

”Both of you know Melissa, right?”

”Yes.” They nodded at the same time.

”She is not completely human. You can say she is half-beast and half-human. She is an existence artificially created by the people in the past.”

”...” Both of them felt their hearts just drop. They simply couldnʼt endure Noel dropping such heavy news so casually.

”One of the reinforcements is coming from the kingdom where people like Melissa reside. They had 7 spirit transcendence experts apparently, but one of them died because of the Sky Demon King.

”The other reinforcement came from a mercenary group that my parents had been cultivating in the shadows.

”You may think that this matter is important, but you may have underestimated the importance. It is time for me to reveal everything to both of you.

”Regarding my parents, I had planted the idea of them doing ʼsomethingʼ in peopleʼs minds, right? Elaine, it will be your job to handle everything regarding the laws when they return. We needed their help.

”Letʼs go to the office first to discuss this matter.”

Elaine was too shocked to react. She just stared blankly, without knowing anything to say.

On the other hand, Rose simply shook her head helplessly. ”Letʼs go, Elaine. Stop standing there. Rule number 1 as his adviser. If you think you have known anything about your lord, think again. You will probably only know what he wants you to know.”

”...”
