Chapter 1583: Three Factions

”It might be the first prince!”

”!!!”

Everyone couldn’t help but widen their eyes in shock.

Obviously, those who supported the first prince couldn’t help but raise their voices.

”What the hell do you mean by that?”

”That’s right. The first prince is the most eligible person for the throne.”

However, there were people who supported the second prince as well. After losing his power from offending Noel, the second prince had been quietly biding his time for a comeback.

Without the other faction realizing it, they had grown to their former size.

They immediately struck back by pointing out their suspicion.

”If the first prince is really a traitor of this kingdom, we can’t forgive him.”

”If the first prince doesn’t have anything to do with this, he can always make it clear.”

The Grand Protector had two sons and three daughters. The three daughters weren’t eligible for the throne, so the court split into three groups. The two princes’ factions and the neutral faction, who either wanted the seat themselves or wanted to serve the person who won.

And the third group suddenly interjected.

”Still, there are two weird things. First of all, the message is Supreme 1st. What do you think about this?” One protector stepped forward, raising an important question.

”This is a very clear message. This must mean that the grand protector wants the first prince to reign supreme.”

”If that’s the case, shouldn’t it be 1st Supreme? I believe these are two separate people. The first one is Supreme, and the second one is the first prince.”

”You are creating quite a story. You should just stay back and watch how the first prince brings this kingdom to glory.”

Suddenly, one protector stepped forward and raised his hand. ”This is quite an interesting situation.”

”!!!” They couldn’t help but look at this person.

”Hulbert.”

”What are you doing, Hulbert? You are the leader of the neutral party. Are you going to stop being neutral?”

The old man simply smiled and waved his hand, as if asking people to give him time to speak. Once the room fell silent, he asked an important question. ”First of all, can we agree that this is murder?”

No one raised an objection. They all were convinced that with all the evidence, this was a murder.

”Since no one raises an objection, we shall conclude that this is a murder. In that case, let me ask you two questions.” Hulbert raised two fingers. ”What will happen if the grand protector dies?”

No one answered it, but they knew the answer.

Hulbert answered his own question. ”Of course, the two factions will be fighting against each other, and the Atracaeca Kingdom will enter a period of civil wars for the grand protector’s seat. This is very clear, but the problem with this is that the current period is very sensitive.

”That leads us to the second question. Who will benefit the most in this civil war?”

They fell silent for a moment until one protector gasped and spoke. ”The demons!”

”!!!” Everyone could feel chills down their spines.

”That’s right.” Hulbert smiled. ”In a normal time, the ones who will benefit the most in this civil war are the other three kingdoms. However, this period is rather special. We are at risk of a demon invasion.

”No one can confirm whether this invasion will happen or not, but the chance is not so low that we can disregard it either.

”Even the grand protector has been doing his best to prepare for the demon invasion, so he must believe that the demon invasion will occur.

”As such, this civil war will allow the demons to crush us. If we can’t unite, that is.”

They couldn’t help but agree with this assessment. Although the grand protector had made some mistakes, he wasn’t the type of ruler who would be paranoid about something. If he made preparations for such a thing, it was because he had a certain level of confidence that it would happen.

If it didn’t happen, then it was fine as well.

Hulbert raised one finger. ”Now that our thoughts have reached this point. Let’s return to the message that was left behind.

”Normally, I wouldn’t suspect such a thing, but because the matter has spread to all four kingdoms, I can’t help but realize something.

”This ’Supreme’ word... Don’t you think it resembles one person?”

Some people were confused, while some noticed there was actually one person who called himself Supreme.

One protector couldn’t help but ask, ”There is one person who has ’Supreme’ in his title. The master of the terrorist organization that has ended up threatening the whole world. Supreme Devil.”

”!!!” They gasped. Now that it had been pointed out, they had to agree that this ’Supreme’ referred to that person.

”Don’t tell me. Is this really a murder committed by the demons? The Supreme Devil is known to be working together with the demon kings. They should have the ability to kill our grand protector without us realizing.”

”Still, to infiltrate like this is impossible unless he has an inside helper. That’s why this ’1st’ must mean that the first prince has helped them. The first prince is the traitor.”

”You are accusing someone without enough evidence. This alone won’t be enough to prove that the first prince is the culprit.”

”This message might also be made by the demons to make us accuse the first prince.”

”Isn’t this easy? Why not just interrogate the first prince?!”

The people were arguing with each other. The accusation wasn’t light, so they were fighting desperately.

Hulbert had to step forward again. ”That’s enough. This is not a matter that can be resolved like this. If this is indeed a matter of a traitor, we definitely have to punish the traitor. However, there’s not enough evidence to point out the traitor.

”That’s why we have to get to the bottom of this. Protectors. I want to ask you one question. Do you still hold the Atracaeca Kingdom in your heart?”
