Chapter 1568: Noel’s Element

”The Moon Goddess would like to have a chat with you.”

Noelʼs expression turned solemn. If it were the Moon Goddess, it might not be a simple matter. Noel nodded his head.

”Please follow me to a more appropriate place.”

Noel didnʼt say anything and just followed Layla. He wondered what kind of matter was so important that the Moon Goddess would like to talk personally instead of letting Layla handle it.

Once they reached a room, Layla stopped for a few seconds. Then, she turned around, her eyes turned purple.

Noel straightened his back. He had seen the Moon Goddess, so he recognized these purple eyes. It was the same eyes that the Moon Goddess had.

”Noel Ardagan greets the Moon Goddess.” Noel politely placed his hand on his chest while lowering his head.

”Please be at ease.” The moon goddess smiled. ”To think that you have grown this much in such a short period.”

”You overpraised. Iʼm just lucky.”

”It is amazing to be able to reach this far at your age. You remind me of the Spirit God.” The moon goddess shook her head.

”Iʼm sure that you are busy with all the matters regarding the demon kings, so I wonʼt take much of your time.”

”Not at all,” Noel humbly replied.

”Do you know the origin of the demons?”

Noel paused for a moment. ”From what Iʼve heard, the demons are actually the followers of the demon god who escaped after the spirit god defeated him. And after my ancestor stopped blocking the power of the demon, the demons created a portal and invaded this world.”

”Indeed. The demon god has indeed fallen. His army scattered to survive. However, there is one thing missing.” She raised one finger. ”The portals.”

Noel raised his head. ”The portals?”

”The demons came from the portal. But where are the portals connected to?”

”The demon world?” Noel gave an obvious answer.

Unfortunately, the moon goddess shook her head. ”Not really. If you think about it, wonʼt the spirit god destroy the demon world after defeating the demon god? Without a leader, they wonʼt be capable of resisting.”

”Now that you mention it…” Noel looked down, contemplating. ”Then, where is this portal linked to? Besides, there is something weird. When I fought against Josephine, she could create a portal, but her ability was useless after she died…

”On the other hand, the portals had remained for a thousand years…” Something was amiss.

The moon goddess smiled. ”Why are there only 13 demon kings in your world? And the number has never changed?”

Noel frowned. ”Are you saying that the demons wonʼt multiply anymore?”

”Sooner or later, the demon crystals will just be history. Your priority right now is to defeat the demon kings, so I wonʼt tell you about the answer.”

”Well…” Noelʼs dream was to freely adventure to see every corner of the world. He thought about leaving the Muivell Kingdom after some time to fulfill this dream.

It looked like the Moon Goddess was trying to give him another reason to leave the Muivell Kingdom.

But this was weird. If it were this matter, the Moon Goddess could just tell him after the war was over. This way, he could start thinking about it.

”Your eyes are telling me that I should tell you about it after the war is over.”

”Ah!” Noel panicked. ”I donʼt mean to be rude. Right now, I have no time to think about such things.”

”Indeed. I was just telling you about it because I didnʼt know how to start a conversation..” The moon goddess covered her mouth while chuckling. ”The real reason I want to have a chat with you is to see your progress.”

”My progress?”

”Yes. It looks like you have been trying to completely fuse your elements.”

”Iʼm planning to take a trip to my ancestorʼs training place to try fusing my elements,” confirmed Noel.

”Ardagan possesses a downgraded version of Absolute Flame. Do you know what ʼabsoluteʼ means? It means no normal can go against it. And that ice is just normal ice.

”Trying to fuse them is nothing but a waste of time.”

”!!!” Noel was confused. Ardagan told him that Milinda had done it.

”Ardagan must have told you about using the cold to suppress his fire.”

”How do you know?” Noel gasped.

”Because Heisk told me.” The Moon Goddess chuckled.

”Ah!” Noel scratched the back of his head, feeling embarrassed. He was chatting with Heisk from time to time, but it was not as often as with Ardagan.

Then again, spirits were still in the spirit worlds even though they were linked to a humanʼs body. Ardagan was a special case. So, it was not weird for the spirits to speak to each other.

”In that case, what about the criminals? If you are able to speak with other spirits, you must know about criminals using the power of spirits to kill other spirit users, right?”

”Not necessarily. Someone I know just happens to be close to the clan Heisk is in. The Spirit World is so wide that it is impossible to keep track of everything.”

”I see…”

”Well, it doesnʼt matter much right now. If I use this body for too long, Iʼm afraid her vitality will be harmed, so I will focus on the important matter first.” The Moon Goddess raised two fingers. ”Your attempt will undoubtedly fail, but I wonʼt say there is no way to do it.

”Donʼt forget what you are right now.”

”A spirit king?” Noel tilted his head in confusion.

”No. Your body.”

”!!!” Noel came to a realization. ”Do you mean half-human, half-spirit?”

”Thatʼs right. Imagine the spirit body is the representation of the absolute flame while your human body is the representation of the normal ice. Do you think the two bodies can completely fuse into one?”

”Cannot…” Noel looked down.

”They can!”

”Pardon?”

”They can fuse.” The moon goddess paused for a moment. ”The spirits have one rule that canʼt be broken. Every spirit will have one element. You may find some unique spirits with uncommon elements, but they are still categorized as elements.

”At the same time, your body is now a spirit as well. In that case, what is your element?”

”!!!”
