System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1561: Lord Tristan

”Isn’t this amazing? No, this is beyond amazing... You have done the impossible.” Sandra’s eyes brightened. ”This is why you have been isolating yourself in your workshop?”

”Yes. For the upcoming war, we won’t be able to win with a normal technique.” Tristan nodded.

”What do you mean?”

”Do you think the only thing I did in my workshop was improve the rune cards? It was because I read the report about Master’s victory that I knew we might not be able to win normally.

”This whole time, the enemies had thought that they had enough preparation to take down Master. But Master surprised them by showing his cards.

”He managed to win this whole time because the enemy thought there would be a next time. But right now, the enemy knows that they have been backed into a corner.

”To borrow Master’s words, even the gentlest deer will fight back. If they lose this time, Master can trample them at any time because he progresses faster than they do.

”Hence, this is their last chance. If this is their last chance, there is only one thing they will do. This time, they will prepare things like no one has ever seen before. The scale of the upcoming war might surprise all of us.

”Master has probably seen through the enemy’s plan. Although I don’t know what’s going on, I think I can pretty much guess. Let’s see... Is there an arrangement for my junior sister?” He asked.

”That’s... nothing I’m aware of.” Sandra shook her head. ”Is there something wrong?”

”That means Master is planning to forgive her. In the end, she is Master’s second disciple. Although I still hold the title in the academy, it’s going to be replaced soon. Junior sister is basically running the academy.

”If she still tries something funny, Master might not hesitate to cut her off. However, if he forgives her, this means the little relationship with the Greenwood Kingdom can be maintained.

”Master must have thought that the scale of the war would be unprecedented, so he can’t afford to have a conflict with the Greenwood Kingdom at this point.”

”Hmm...” Sandra looked down, contemplating. ”I didn’t hear anything about the Atracaeca Kingdom and the Zaecuria Kingdom as well.”

”If you can’t, that means you just haven’t dug deep enough.”

Sandra couldn’t deny it. Her skill couldn’t be compared to the pillars of the Ardagan family. It took her everything just to run the city.

”Anyway, what about the others who have received territory from Master?” Tristan asked.

”Hmm... Let’s see...” Sandra looked up, recalling the information. ”Miss Incetta doesn’t seem to be planning to govern the city right now. Master Noel has sent a mayor to handle the matters for the time being.

”While it’s true that she is not the governor, she still holds the title. In fact, a lot of soldiers have been sent there for training. Currently, there are two big training centers. The first one is the former training center built by Mr. Raven, whom Master invited.

”The second one is Miss Incetta’s training center. This way, even though she doesn’t handle the territory yet, with her overwhelming presence there, the people will recognize her as the true lord in that territory by the time the war is over.”

”Indeed.” Tristan nodded. ”As expected of Master, such an arrangement.”

”As for Sir Howard, he has been studying both as a noble and as a governor. Because of his limited time, he can’t help a lot with the army, so it can’t be helped.

”However, from what I have heard, his city has been progressing the fastest.”

Tristan nodded. ”How about Miss Rui?”

”Miss Rui... She has actually given up her title.”

”What?” Tristan widened his eyes. Giving up the title she was given by the grand duke should be seen as treason. Rui might not look like it, but Tristan believed she highly regarded Noel, so he couldn’t understand why she returned the title and the land.

”Yes. According to Teacher Dimitri, he seemed to find Miss Rui as a good successor to his pillar. You can say that Miss Rose is the one managing the inner city while Miss Rui handles the outer matters.

”Because I am supporting you, I am not considered a successor anymore.”

”Ah!” Tristan rubbed his cheek. ”Sorry...”

”It’s fine. I like living this way. Besides, you are with me now. I promised you back then that wherever you go, I will follow.”

”Sandra...” Tristan couldn’t contain his smile.

”Hmph.” Sandra snorted while looking away, feeling embarrassed. ”Anyway, what do you want to know next? If there’s nothing else, we should go to Master Noel to present him with your new creation. This will definitely help a lot of people on the battlefield.”

”There is one more thing.” Tristan raised one finger. Since Rui and Rose had become the next generation of Charlotte and Dimitri, there was still one important factor that he needed to know.

”What about the trains? The trains must have been developing quickly, and the number of trains going around the kingdom must have increased significantly. Who handles the logistics? Is it Madam Anna?”

”Actually, Madam Anna has isolated herself for training. It looks like she is planning to become another spirit king. The report mentioned there were two demon kings, so by the time they attacked, the other demon king would have restored its full strength. There was a need to have another spirit king to stop them.”

”That’s understandable. But who handles it then?”

”That’s...” Sandra scratched the back of her head. ”Miss Rui.”

”What?” Tristan gasped.

”I’m sorry... I can’t do the same thing as her...” Sandra looked down. She didn’t know that Rui was actually similar to that of a noble in her hometown, so it wasn’t weird for her to know how to do it.

This was the hidden reason Dimitri considered her a successor. With her insight, she could handle not only the logistics but also the movement of their soldiers. In other words, by sending the troops by airship or train, they could instantly change the outcome of battlefields.

This was a strategic placement by Noel instead of Dimitri.

Tristan misunderstood it as Sandra feeling inferior to Rui. He awkwardly grabbed Sandra’s wrist and pointed up. ”That’s right. Let’s visit Master. We have to bring this new creation to him.”
