Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 689: Chapter 214: Future Realm

”Sister Du.”

”President Du.”

”President Du.”

The sound of footsteps ’pah-pah’ echoed, this is the sound of flat cloth shoes hitting the floor, which, compared to the ’da-da’ of high heels, is not crisp but rather monotonous.

”President Du, based on our current investigation, there are a total of 11 large mercenary teams, including our old adversaries, Tabor Defense System and Marubeni Global Security.”

Sunx Hong handed over the list, Du Zhaodi glanced at it and indeed saw many familiar names, these are all her old opponents in the global arms market, basically old-school military contractors.

”These people all have their service patrons in corporate warfare, how did the Eternal Life Conglomerate manage to gather them together?” Du Zhaodi asked.

”These military contractors are all publicly listed companies, and each one is backed by a large number of foundations and financial organizations holding shares, behind these organizations, there is essentially the shadow of the Eternal Life Group; they can be considered the force branches of the Eternal Life Group. In fact, according to our understanding, many high-level members of mercenary organizations also only recently realized this.”

”Didn’t they resist? From what I know, they have cooperation agreements with a number of super corporations, breaching them at this time could very likely lower their credit ratings.”

”In the face of Eternity, all problems are not problems,” Sunx Hong suddenly quoted a saying about the Eternal Life Conglomerate.

”Heh.”

Director Du coldly sneered, ”That’s why I’m unwilling to let these vipers in.”

The two women pushed open the door, high-ranking members of the Du Gao Group appeared either in person or via holographic projection, showing various expressions upon seeing Du Zhaodi; some were excited, some worried, some thrilled.

”Sister Du, are we really going to fight those military organizations?”

”Let’s kill them!”

”Are we really going to stick our necks out for the Holy Brain Group? We are on Ms. Ye’s side.”

With just a glance from Director Du, all high-ranking members immediately fell silent, her presence was something a certain young wolf would never possess in his lifetime.

Without wasting words, Director Du got straight to the point: ”All departments, first report your current situation, including your weapon counts, production efficiency, and distribution and status of your production lines.”

The first head of the Mecha Department, Helli Wilder, stood up first and began:

”Currently, the total number of all model mechas is ninety-four thousand sixty-one units; among them, large mechas account for twelve thousand units, unmanned mechas for thirty thousand units, medium and small mechas combined for fifty-two thousand sixty-one units. We have a total of seventeen production lines globally, and in the Southern Hemisphere, factory production efficiency is one mecha rolling off the line every minute...”

Many people were startled by this amount, which seemed so massive; even during corporate warfare, at most, they would deploy over a thousand mechas, but now being told that the global mecha stock is close to one hundred thousand units seems exaggerated!

”How about you,” after listening to Helli’s report, Du Zhaodi looked toward Sunx Hong and Daisila, who are heads of the Hunter sequence.

”Currently, there are 2211 Blood Hunters in the biological sequence.”

”Whereas the mechanical sequence has 1411 Blood Hunters.”

With the rise of alliance levels, the three ranks of Hunters - Hunter Level, Mad Hunt Level, Blood Hunter Level - have all seen upgrades. Hunter Level is above level 25, Mad Hunt Level above level 30, and Blood Hunter Level above level 35, requiring completion of the carbon fusion ceremony.

Undoubtedly, these numbers exceeded many people’s expectations.

Little Woman raised her brow with pride, these are all her accomplishments. As for Radiation Beast Bloodline, no one on the planet knows it better than her; without her (to be precise, the Brain-in-a-Vat) assistance, how could they have produced so many experts?

Director Du nodded, her expression serene as she looked at an unfamiliar face: ”It’s time to convene the ’Hunter Conference’.”

”At your command.”

”Sister Du, do you intend to utilize those reinforcements?” a high-ranking member asked in surprise.

”Hmm, after doing so many good deeds, it’s time to reap some rewards.”

The ’Hunter Conference’ has developed to the point of not just being a closed-door meeting, in fact, many super mercenaries friendly to Du Gao Technology choose to attend; it has become a platform for mission releases, resource exchanges, and weapon sales.

And with no middlemen to cut the profits.

The main reason why the ’Hunter’ alliance can attract so many experts is because they treat ailments.

In the Cyber Era, most mental illnesses are signs of mental health, but there is one illness that not even the mentally ill can withstand, which is human rejection brought by various modifications, among which the most typical is ’cyber psychosis.’

Interestingly, Du Gao Technology’s research experience in this area is quite rich, for one reason: a long illness makes a good doctor, as a certain young wolf often has ’more severe’ symptoms, providing the alliance ample opportunity for research.

Being able to resolve rejection issues naturally wins over experts, especially those independent specialists.

To know that those who can stand alone under a super corporation are essentially the strongest among the strong.

Du Zhaodi possessing their goodwill is a huge asset at crucial moments.

Among them, many are quite renowned NPCs in a previous life.

As more and more of the alliance’s resources get revealed, everyone gradually shifts from surprise to numbness, not because Du Zhaodi suddenly unveiled some mind-blowing black technology, but due to the sheer volume and abundance brought by super industrialization. No matter the type of soldier species, or weapon, adding a 0 or even two 0s behind it is enough to stun people.

These are the 3 boss templates, and it’s the boost the logistics templates bring to the alliance.

When the quantity reaches a certain point, it crushes everything.

Director Du’s gaze gradually turned indifferent, as if she had become connected with every machine and production line in her domain; from mining to refinement to production, they formed a torrent-like industrial blood, merging into her body.

Industrial AI is inherently a camp-type AI, and when Du Zhaodi upgrades from an industrial AI to an industrial shipgirl, this enhancement will only grow faster.

It’s important to know that as a Tier 3 powerful soldier species, an industrial shipgirl has a very formidable trait, that is, one person is an industrial nation, and all materials can be stacked for self-modification.

And now, Du Zhaodi attempts to further upgrade all production pipeline processes once more, reaching the level of ’interstellar military supply production’.

At this step, it can even preliminarily reach the logistics standard of ’interstellar war’.

...

Just as Director Du was preparing to make miracles happen, Gao Gong and his entourage had arrived at the edge of the virtual realm.

A plethora of digital illusions disintegrated in place, either breaking back into sensory signals or merging into a string of unknown purpose code, then sinking into the ’brain infrastructure’, forming strange thoughts in some unlucky person’s mind.

Cyber Space is a physical-level non-existent, yet virtually wrapping the entire planet virtual world.

And now, with the fusion of virtual and reality, it also means Cyber Space will ’disappear’, this ’disappearance’ is certainly not permanent, but for AI, digital life, and virtual personalities living in the virtual realm, it represents a doomsday.

’2 million for a stable digital node, 5 million for a bionic human body, want it? If so, get on board quickly!’

A train formed by a large network cloud hovered rapidly through the sky, with the conductor’s shout echoing in mid-air.

”What is the ticket?” Gao Gong inquired with interest.

”Open your source code!”

”Oh.”

Seeing Gao Gong not responding, the train quickly lost interest in him and rushed toward another soon-to-be-destroyed data node.

”I sensed danger from that network cloud,” ’Ye the Big Lolita’ suddenly stated.

”Of course, that’s a virus cloud, who knows how many electronic viruses it nurtures inside. It hides pretty well, wonder how many people it has harmed in the dark.”

In Gao Gong’s eyes, at the soon-to-disappear carriage position, unknown how many heads were peeping from windows and doors, their complex gazes deadlocked on the surrounding virtual personalities, with expressions of either pity, malice, or eager anticipation.

”Come on, let’s enjoy it, anyway, there’s a Big Bus of time.”

Soon, another ’Big Bus’ arrived from afar, exuding lascivious vibes through the pink curtains, one could faintly see countless men and women, and inappropriate scenes for children.

Among them, a naked beauty flirtatiously gazed at Gao Gong and extended her palm toward him.

’Pink lovers’ dating website’

[You have been tempted by ’digital illusion’, but your perception surpasses 100 points, granting immunity]

[You have been tempted by ’digital illusion’, but your perception surpasses 120 points, granting immunity]

[You...]

A flash of light suddenly appeared on Gao Gong, directly blocking their summon.

That was the protection of the ’Sensory Queen’.

Then, a cold snort resounded.

The beauty sensed the ’Sensory Queen’s’ aura, her expression changed, preparing to flee, but unfortunately, it was too late, as Black Rose’s voice sounded, she exploded into countless faces, then absorbed by the men and women behind the curtains.

This seems to be an existence interfacing between virtual personalities, user data, and digital authority.

Uncertain how many levels it possessed, but being entangled would surely be troublesome.

Soon, amid a ’giggling’ laughter, another seductive woman stepped out from the Big Bus, flirtatiously blinked at Gao Gong, then vanished into the digital realm.

Gao Gong remarked with some empathy:

”With virtual and reality united, we’ll have to directly deal with these things in the future.”

Initially, Cyber Space and the real world were separated by a sea of data.

Now, that ’ocean’ has vanished, and those virtual beasts that could only live in Cyber Space have poured into reality along with the sea waters.

More troublingly, for survival, these virtual beasts merge with one another, forming even more terrifying monsters.

This is the world of the future.
