Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 663: Chapter 191: Heart Demon of Lifeforms_2

The silhouette at the front sitting in a wheelchair was a familiar face among familiar faces, the bionic man of Professor Han from the pre-civilization Research Institute.

Bionic Man Professor Han.

Meeting someone familiar naturally brings joy; at least these people were calling him ’Great Elder’ one after another, making Gao Gong reminiscent of the Iron Sand Desert.

Back then, he was just a little wolf with small ambitions and no great aspirations.

Now, he is a super little wolf destined to step into the interstellar and head towards the cosmos.

He has evolved into the ultimate form.

However, amidst the lively atmosphere, Professor Han in the wheelchair remained silent, expressionless, with the high posture of a mafia godfather.

”What’s up with this old man?”

Gao Gong looked at Fat Xiang, who is now a team leader at Du Gao Technology. With a body three stories high, dressed in an XXL suit, he looked like a mountain of muscles.

This is the result of his bloodline mutation after ’Carbon Fusion.’

He is now a legitimate level 34 Biological Hunter; even in normal circumstances, he can fight the large mechas developed by the corporation on equal terms, radiating a quite brutal aura.

Moreover, his personality is no longer as naive as before; with the increase in strength, his child-like intellect has returned to that of a normal person.

His current character is quite stable.

”In the past two years, Professor Han’s condition has worsened, and replacing bionic components didn’t help. At least half of the day, he is in a crashed mode.”

This state of the bionic man is similar to when a normal person enters old age.

Fat Xiang said heavily, ”We communicated with the neural network department, and his brain’s basic architecture is an ’ancient’ code language, so outdated it can no longer be corrected.”

”Is that so.”

Gao Gong nodded unsurprised.

Normal people have a lifespan limit, and so do bionic men.

Every system modification increases redundancy, and every bionic component adjustment similarly damages the bionic system.

Once the damage reaches its limit, the system can only be ’completely reset.’

At that time, the bionic man dies.

However, the ’death’ of a bionic man is somewhat special, because after death, a ’living person’ can be recreated on its corpse.

Whether this resurrected ’new bionic man’ can inherit memories from his previous life, and his past ’family ties’ depends entirely on his former life’s will.

This is probably a unique ethical view of the ’bionic man.’

Perhaps stimulated by the external environment, the sound of electric current buzzed within Professor Han’s body, and then, his plastic pupils lit up.

”Gao Gong, is it you looking for me?”

Professor Han’s voice remained as calm as ever, just like the old days, appearing not so aged.

Gao Gong smiled and nodded, ”I have something to discuss with you, so I took this opportunity to call you here. Shall I show you around first and then we can talk?”

Professor Han gazed deeply at Gao Gong, his neck creaking a few times as he nodded.

”Alright.”

...

”I’ve seen everything you’ve done these years. Are you certain that the ’monster with the ability to crush all information streams’ will descend?”

”Yes.”

”Information is everything. If, as you say, memories will disappear, senses will be confused, and the will shall melt like snow, is this the world of the future?” Professor Han paused, then said:

”Has it created a hell?”

Gao Gong pondered and said:

”This is just thinking from our dimension. From its perspective, it’s merely pure feeding.”

”Decomposing, melting, then absorbing the information to enhance itself. This is what it does in the universe, which is why it can exist for hundreds of thousands or even millions of years. Its information replacement speed is faster than the concept of ’time wear,’ thus it avoids death.”

”And now, it has simply changed its feeding ground to a planet, and coincidentally, that planet happens to be the Mechanical Split Star.”

”It really is a catastrophe,” Professor Han sighed.

Gao Gong was indifferent:

”A star system destroyed by the explosion of a Red Giant Star, a world where millions of planets were swallowed by dark matter tides, insect plagues, mechanical calamities, space rifts, and even remnants of high-dimensional wars, capable of destroying ascension civilizations.”

”Compared to these, what are we?”

”They are life, and so are we. The value of life is incomparable!” Professor Han said word by word.

Gao Gong did not argue with this old bionic man but laughed and said:

”You’re right, which is why I’m busy trying to save the planet, aren’t I?”

Professor Han was silent for a while, then said:

”If that monster needs to feed, then it has certain biological attributes.”

”Is there any way to deal with it before it matures?”

Gao Gong shook his head:

”Unless the entire planet’s population commits suicide, while the ’Memory Mother’ has biological attributes, it is ultimately a high-level information entity.”

”As long as we speak of it or think of it, it exists.”

”Everything we say now, it can hear 100%, so do you think it will agree?”

”Since we have already become a part of it, let’s not always think of ’cooperating with oneself to hang oneself,’ this goes against the information laws.”

”What an incomprehensible existence,” Professor Han sighed, ”Fortunately, it only has biological attributes without biological wisdom, or else I really wouldn’t know what other means we have to oppose it.”

Before Gao Gong could answer, Professor Han continued:
