Not Being a Trainer This Time

The issue with the World Tree was resolved, and Naoki couldn’t help but sigh in relief.

Next, it’s just a matter of letting the World Tree grow slowly in the Reversed World.

As for what Giratina said about changing the world’s rules and being noticed by Arceus...

Naoki felt that Arceus, being the Creator God, couldn’t be so petty, and besides, the World Tree is beneficial and harmless to this world, so there was really nothing to worry about.

With the tree gone, fewer Trainers came to visit the ranch, and Naoki’s life returned to its original state.

The development of the ranch still needed to continue.

This morning, after finishing the daily work at the ranch, Naoki set off for the ranch shop in town to buy a batch of production Wooloo.

However, when Naoki arrived, he found only Xiaomei there.

This surprised Naoki, and he casually asked, ”Where’s your grandpa?”

Xiaomei replied, ”Grandpa went to the Kalos region to attend a funeral. A friend of his passed away a few days ago, and now I’m taking care of the shop.”

”I see...” Naoki nodded and didn’t say much more.

Xiaomei smiled and said, ”So, Mr. Naoki, is there any Pokemon you want to bring back to the ranch today? I can help you with that.”

”Wooloo, do you have Wooloo?” Naoki asked.

”Yes, we do!” Xiaomei nodded and turned to push open the back door. ”Please follow me!”

The shop’s back door connected to a spacious ranch where a large number of production Pokemon lived.

Naoki had visited a few times before and had an impression of the setup here.

Noibat resting in the woods, Miltank on the grassland, Nacli in the caves, Smoliv in the bushes, and so on.

Along the way, besides these production Pokemon, Naoki also saw many regular Pokemon that weren’t for production.

For example, Fighting Type Machop, Rock Type Sudowoodo, and Floette holding a flower.

This caught Naoki by surprise.

”What are these Pokemon?” he asked.

Xiaomei glanced back and softly introduced, ”Those are Pokemon that Grandpa rescued from the wild. Mr. Naoki, do you remember the wildfire on the hillside last year?”

Naoki suddenly understood.

Xiaomei continued, ”Of course, many people from the town went over to help! Grandpa and I went too and rescued quite a few Pokemon.”

”Grandpa originally planned to return them to the wild once they recovered, but these Pokemon seemed curious about the human world.”

”So, Grandpa decided to keep them to see if he could find Trainers for them, or send them to farms to assist the farmers.”

”I see!” said Naoki.

He was very clear about the nature of this ranch shop.

It’s definitely not a black market Pokemon Hunter shop, so the Pokemon sold here are very affordable, more like an adoption fee.

If placed on the black market, the price of a Miltank would probably not be less than five figures.

Xiaomei asked again, ”Would Mr. Naoki like to take a look at these Pokemon?”

Gazing at the Pokemon, Naoki paused.

Xiaomei waved with a smile, and the Pokemon that had been on the grass came running over.

Machop, Sudowoodo, Floette, Oddish, Poliwag, Eevee...

Naoki’s eyes were drawn to the fluffy Eevee.

Feeling his gaze, the Eevee looked up and cheerfully greeted him.

”Eevee!”

”It’s a very outgoing Eevee!” Naoki thought, completely different from the Glaceon at home.

Xiaomei then stood before the Pokemon and introduced them one by one:

”This is Machop. It’s very strong and can help move things with ease.”

As if to prove its strength, Machop flexed its muscles.

Xiaomei moved to the next Pokemon.

”This is Sudowoodo... well, it can’t help move things like Machamp, but it can serve as a decorative bonsai in the ranch! Haha, just this Pokemon is very afraid of water and hides away when it encounters it.”

Sudowoodo immediately froze in place, looking just like a real tree.

Bonsai... for a moment, Naoki didn’t know what to say, but he remembered that some people really liked Sudowoodo.

There’s even a magazine dedicated to Sudowoodo, with enthusiasts very particular about the length and angle of its arms.

It’s said that the larger the green parts on Sudowoodo, the more popular it is among those people.

”This is Floette, don’t be fooled by its small size; it’s very good at taking care of flowers!” Xiaomei said, patting Floette on the head.

Naoki looked at the Floette and immediately thought of AZ’s Eternal Flower Floette.

A special variant of Floette with formidable powers, the only one of its kind in the world, with no way to obtain it even in the games.

Xiaomei continued, ”And this is Oddish, it’s a weed Pokemon, but its evolved form, Gloom, is very beautiful!”

Oddish, Gloom, Bellossom.

Naoki felt a bit tempted, but thinking about the stinky nature of Gloom, he dismissed the idea.
