Not Being a Trainer This Time

In the villa courtyard, surrounded by people on the battle arena.

Two Dragonites with distinctly different looks stood facing each other, both filled with fighting spirit as they gazed at their opponent.

”Dragonite too?” Lance didn’t expect Naoki to send out a Dragonite to battle him in this last match.

The many trainers and the professor watching also showed surprised expressions.

”Two Dragonites, huh…” Professor Oak’s gaze wandered over the two Dragonites, thinking this is going to be interesting.

As everyone knows, the Dragon Taming Clan’s specialty is the Dragon Type Pokemon.

In terms of breeding and training Dragon Type Pokemon, not many trainers in the world can match them.

But now, another trainer has brought out the same Pokemon to battle the Dragon Elite...

For a moment, Professor Oak didn’t feel like researching those never-before-seen Pokemon.

He suddenly became very curious about the outcome of this match.

”Wow wow wow! That guy also brought out a Dragonite!”

On the second floor of the manor, Shauntal, who constantly watched the battle below, shone brilliantly in her eyes, adjusted her glasses, and focused entirely on the coming battle.

Caitlin’s eyes showed an interested look: ”A champion from the Paldea Region? Cynthia, have you heard of him?”

Beside her, Cynthia shook her head: ”I haven’t heard of him.” Paldea was too far from the Sinnoh Region, and the connection between the two regions isn’t as close as Kanto and Johto.

”Then who do you think will win?” Caitlin changed the question.

Upon hearing, Cynthia cast her gaze at the two Dragonites warming up below, then honestly shook her head: ”I can’t tell, but soon there will be an answer.”

Because the little girl serving as the referee had already raised the flag high and then blew the whistle:

”Pheeeew—”

Nemona’s eyes gleamed: ”The final battle, Dragonite versus Dragonite, officially begins!”

”Dragonite, it’s time to test your special training results. The opponent is a famous figure in the Kanto Region, give it your all!” Naoki fiercely extended his hand, pointing at the opposing Dragonite.

”Roar!” Dragonite responded, clearly feeling Naoki’s mood, his hard training over the past two years had made a marked difference!

Naoki: ”Come on, greet the opponent with Extreme Speed!”

”Roar!”

Dragonite’s body instantly turned into a white blur, the accumulated experience over time made it very familiar with this move.

Everyone only saw a flash of white light, and Naoki’s Dragonite had already reached Lance’s Dragonite.

Lance’s Dragonite was on guard in advance, quickly crossing its arms in front to try to defend, but still staggered from the strike.

”Full of fighting spirit, huh?” Lance’s expression remained unchanged, taking the chance while Naoki’s Dragonite hadn’t escaped, he immediately ordered: ”Slam!”

”Roar!”

The Dragonite that had retreated several steps quickly adjusted its stance, its wings flapping swiftly, it suddenly charged above Dragonite, a surge of white light erupted from its long tail and then slammed down on Dragonite’s face.

With a crisp ’snap’ sound, Dragonite retreated several steps, but soon, it stabilized its form and then charged towards the opposing Dragonite.

”Thunder Punch!” Naoki’s command intertwined amidst the chaos.

Dragonite clenched its right claw into a fist, the power of thunder rapidly surged, swinging forcefully towards the opponent.

Facing this frontal strike, Lance’s Dragonite showed its battle-hardened advantage, it slightly tilted its head, letting the thunder-powered fist brush past its body.

”Strong enough, but lacking battlefield experience.” Very familiar with Dragon-type Pokemon, Lance instantly recognized the shortcomings of that Dragonite through the contact just now.

Seeing the Thunder Punch miss, he coolly ordered: ”Fire Punch!”

Covered in burning flames, the fist smashed into Dragonite’s abdomen, Dragonite grimaced, retreating continuously, breathing heavily.

”No, Dragonite’s practical experience gap with the opponent is too big!” Seeing this scene, Naoki frowned slightly.

Dragonite’s close combat was clearly no match for the other Dragonite.

He quickly pondered strategies in his mind.

What if using Rain Dance and Thunder? After all, Thunder is guaranteed to hit during rain, if executed properly, it might deliver a fatal blow to the opponent.

”No, no! Lance’s Dragonite knows Thunder too… once Dragonite uses Rain Dance, given his experience, he would definitely react immediately, by then Dragonite might suffer a backlash!” Naoki immediately dismissed this idea.

On the other side, Lance didn’t plan to give them any breathing room.

”Dragonite, Hyper Beam!”

”Roar—”

With the command issued, that determined-looking Dragonite immediately opened its mouth, a beam filled with a desolate aura rapidly gathered within, and then transformed into a robust beam, shooting out fiercely.

”Quick, dodge!” Naoki was forced to stop thinking, commanding Dragonite to try to evade.

—No, it’s not just Dragonite’s battle experience, compared to Lance, his own command experience was lacking too!

Dragonite felt a bit nervous at the moment, staring at the oncoming Hyper Beam, instinctively flying upwards.

A second after it left the ground, that Hyper Beam brushed past where it had just been.

Dragonite narrowly avoided the move, swiftly turned back while shouting: ”Roar!”
