Not Being a Trainer This Time

This magical phenomenon immediately caught the attention of a large group of Pokemon.

Naoki thought that Dragonite was about to undergo Mega Evolution and quickly ran over to check the situation.

But when he arrived, he saw that the light from the two working Dragonites was gradually dimming.

No, to be precise, the two lights separated from the two Dragonites, merged into one on the grass in front of them, and turned into an egg-shaped energy form.

Once the light fully disappeared, a Pokemon Egg with orange patterns appeared in front of all the Pokemon.

Naoki: ”!!!”

Whoa, a Dragonite laid an egg! What’s going on here? Do Pokemon lay eggs by combining their energy into one rather than mating?

This is so amazing...

Naoki was left standing there, dumbfounded at the scene before him.

No! How did these two working Dragonites suddenly become a couple?

He remembered that they just had a normal relationship. Did they suddenly fall in love while delivering goods?

Naoki didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Until one of the Dragonites picked up the egg.

That Dragonite gazed at the egg in its arms, then looked at its partner, and then both of them turned their eyes back to the egg.

What’s going on? Are they planning to take the egg back to Dragonite Island? wondered Naoki.

However, in the next second, he saw the Dragonite carrying the egg walking towards him, fluttering its big eyes and placing the egg in his arms.

Naoki: ”???”

Holding the egg, he was at a loss for what to do. What should he do now?

But the female Dragonite that had just laid the egg wasn’t worried about that.

To it, Naoki was a trustworthy human who was very friendly to Pokemon, so entrusting the egg to him was much better than taking it back to Dragonite Island to hatch naturally.

After all, they came to the ranch every day to eat Poffins, so taking the egg back to Dragonite Island would be too inconvenient.

Instead of doing that, it was better to leave the egg with Naoki. They felt relieved and, once it hatched, the baby could help deliver goods and eat Poffins with them.

So, after handing the egg to Naoki, the Dragonites and the Dragonair waved their claws at him and flew away.

Leaving Naoki and a group of Pokemon staring blankly at the freshly laid egg.

With no experience in egg hatching, Naoki looked around, tentatively asking, ”How do you hatch this...?”

However, no Pokemon in the ranch had ever laid an egg, so they had no clue about such matters.

Naoki had no choice but to call over Dragonite, thinking its kin might know something.

Dragonite was also stunned upon learning that the egg was laid by the two working Dragonites.

Naoki ate a piece of Translation Nuts Cake and asked, ”Have you ever had experience with egg-laying?”

Dragonite shook its head vigorously: ”Roar!” (No, I don’t lay eggs!)

”Then what should we do?” Naoki was troubled.

Dragonite carefully recalled what it had seen on Dragonite Island and said to Naoki, ”Roar roar!” (Just leave it on the grass and let it hatch on its own!)

Naoki: ”...”

Isn’t that a bit too casual?

After thinking for a moment, he took the Dragonite Egg back to the living room.

Upon seeing the egg, his sister Indeedee looked puzzled: ”Indeedee?” (What’s this?)

Naoki was speechless: ”A Dragonite egg, they just laid it and handed it over to me. I don’t know how to hatch it either!”

Hearing this, his sister Indeedee smiled: ”Indeedee~” (I see, then let my brother and me take care of it~)

Naoki was a bit surprised, eyes lighting up: ”Huh? You can do it?”

Sister Indeedee nodded and gently explained: ”Indeedee indeedee!” (Before coming to the ranch, mom and dad taught my brother and me. Not only can we take care of Pokemon babies, but if you ever have a baby, we can help you take care of it too!)
