Chapter 640: Chapter 346: The Young Lady Nemona Comes to Challenge!

”Hello, everyone.” Naoki greeted the three people in front of him with poise.

Holding a book in her arms and wearing black-framed glasses, Shauntal smiled gently in greeting.

Born into a wealthy family, Caitlin was naturally proud. Although she didn’t mean to make friends, she couldn’t help but glance at him when she heard he was a friend of Alder’s.

Beside them, Cynthia nodded politely, wearing a gentle smile that didn’t quite match her cold exterior: ”Hello there.”

Seeing this, Naoki couldn’t help but think: Cynthia doesn’t seem as aloof as she looks!

But then again, he remembered that Cynthia’s personality in the anime was just like this.

Though she appeared graceful and serene, like an ice queen, she was actually gentle and unassuming, without any airs of a strong person.

”Alright, alright, we won’t disturb you anymore!” Alder grinned and said, ”See you later!”

The three nodded, turned around, and left. Shauntal pulled Caitlin, preparing to find a quiet place to discuss novel details with Cynthia.

Before leaving, Cynthia looked somewhat surprised at the unfamiliar red Pokemon enjoying the feast.

Once the three left, Alder said, ”That Shauntal is not only an Elite of the Unova League but also a very accomplished novelist. She used to visit Cynthia with Caitlin to discuss novel details.”

Naoki curiously asked, ”Isn’t the League’s salary enough? I’ve noticed many Champion Elites take on side jobs while holding their positions.”

Like that big star from the Kalos Region...

”No.” Alder shook his head. ”It’s probably out of interest, right? Life is so long, you can’t be a trainer forever; you have to find other things to do.”

Naoki: ”Understood.”

As the sky gradually darkened, guests arriving for the banquet came one after another.

These people were divided into two groups: one composed of wealthy entrepreneurs from various regions, who gathered to chat and discuss industry-related topics.

The other group consisted of trainers from around the world. Alder said these people were talented trainers from other places, all quite skilled.

The host of the banquet prepared a large plastic battlefield in the yard for these trainers to interact.

The banquet hadn’t officially started, and those trainers were already friendly sparring around the battlefield.

Naoki and Alder, along with Koraidon and Volcarona, became spectators, enjoying the banquet’s food while watching the battles from afar.

Initially, Naoki felt a bit reserved, wondering if it was inappropriate to be a glutton at such a banquet, making him seem like he was just there for free food.

Then Naoki realized his worries were completely unnecessary.

Many trainers brought their Pokemon to indulge freely, even Alder joined in, gnawing on a steak with no regard for image.

Naoki finally felt at ease.

The two hadn’t eaten dinner, so they took the opportunity to fill their stomachs.

As soon as they finished eating, they saw the wealthy guests chatting in the yard begin to move to the banquet hall inside the manor.

In the banquet hall, the host Boss Clay stood on stage, smiling as he addressed everyone:

”Welcome to Boss Clay’s banquet. We’ve prepared rich food and wine for everyone and your Pokemon. The time has come; please, enjoy the banquet!”

Naoki and Alder stayed in an inconspicuous corner, watching the scene.

The real-life Boss Clay had little difference from his image in the game and was easy to recognize. Naoki remembered his appearance, so he immediately recognized him.

However, Naoki was surprised by the girl standing next to Boss Clay.

She was a girl with pink hair, wearing a pink knit sweater.

Naoki: ”Is that girl Boss Clay’s daughter?”

Alder nodded: ”Yes, her name is Lacey!”

”Lacey...” Naoki murmured the name.

Then, he looked around, trying to find other familiar faces in the crowd.

Soon, Naoki spotted several targets.

A handsome young man with a cape, a proper face, and a righteous aura was standing nearby, arms crossed, looking ahead.

”Lance.” Naoki’s mind popped up with the man’s name.

A man in a white lab coat, smiling while chatting with others—Professor Oak.

An exquisitely dressed person in a white evening dress, shining like a star on stage—Diantha.

And a person in a black suit, with meticulously combed hair, an eagle-like sharp, cool gaze, accepting a toast with a faint smile—Giovanni.

Whoa! Giovanni’s really here?

Even though he had expected it, when Naoki saw Giovanni’s strong presence, he couldn’t help but show a surprised expression.

Just then, Giovanni, who was chatting with the wealthy individuals, seemed to sense something, slowly turned his head.

The next second, their eyes met in mid-air.

Giovanni still wore that faint smile, as if he had casually glanced over.
