Not Being a Trainer This Time

It feels cold to the touch, and you can vaguely see the chill emanating from it.

Naoki cuts the Iceroot Carrot into pieces and then blends it into a snowy white radish puree.

Next, he puts it into a pot and starts to boil it, adding white sugar during the process and constantly stirring.

When it seems about right, Naoki takes out the Iceroot Carrot puree and then places it into square molds.

After waiting for a while, blocks of pure, white, shiny Iceroot Carrot Pokeblock, exuding a cold aura, are completed.

Naoki originally thought the candy would feel like jelly candy, but instead, he found it hard, like hard candy.

”Could it be influenced by the Ice Type energy inherent in the Iceroot Carrot?”

Naoki thought while looking down.

The next second, information about the candy emerged in his mind.

[Iceroot Carrot Pokeblock (B): Candy made from pure Iceroot Carrot and white sugar, possessing a unique flavor absent in ordinary radish candy, favored by certain Pokemon.

Cooking Effect: Cold, cold, cold. After being consumed by Pokemon, there’s a certain chance they will learn Ice Type moves, restoring the Ice Type energy in their body. This effect is only effective for Ice Type Pokemon.

Additional Effect: Improves the favorability of Ice Type Pokemon.

Evaluation: Slight.]

”Huh? This effect is similar to cream ice cream?” Naoki was somewhat surprised.

But the effect of this Iceroot Carrot Pokeblock is distinctly better than cream ice cream, making it a superior dessert.

Moreover, its production method is very simple, allowing for large quantities to be made at once. Whether it’s Glaceon or Glastrier, they can eat it as a snack anytime.

So here comes the question, if the candy is made with Shaderoot Carrot, will it be a Ghost Type exclusive enhancement?

Thinking of this, Naoki immediately took out two Shaderoot Carrots to experiment.

Soon, neat rows of pure purple pokeblocks were arranged in front of him.

[Shaderoot Carrot Pokeblock (B): Candy made from pitch-black Shaderoot Carrot and white sugar, possessing a unique flavor absent in ordinary radish candy, favored by certain Pokemon.

Cooking Effect: Dark, dark, dark. After being consumed by Pokemon, there’s a certain chance they will learn Ghost Type moves, restoring the Ghost Type energy in their body. This effect is only effective for Ghost Type Pokemon.

Evaluation: Slight.]

”Just as expected!” Naoki thought.

There aren’t many Ghost Type Pokemon in the ranch, counting the Gimmighoul, there are three.

If you add the friendly neighbor Giratina, that’s four.

At this time, the observer Alder couldn’t help but ask: ”Are those the energy cubes that Pokemon eat?”

Naoki was slightly taken aback, then shook his head: ”No, these are treats I made called pokeblocks for Glastrier and Spectrier.”

”I thought they were energy cubes!” Alder was a little surprised, he looked at those pokeblocks and continued: ”Their texture looks very much like top-grade energy cubes, all very pure.”

Naoki’s eyes lit up: ”Mr. Alder, do you know how to make energy cubes?”

Alder shook his head with a smile: ”I don’t know how to make those things!”

Seeing Naoki’s expression, Alder suddenly realized: ”You want to learn how to make energy cubes?”

Naoki nodded: ”Because I heard that energy cubes contain nutrients very beneficial to Pokemon.”

”You’re not wrong.” Alder recalled carefully, explaining: ”However, each type of energy cube has a different formula, and the effectiveness of these energy cubes varies with the formula.”

”For some top breeders, they develop special energy cubes based on the different conditions of Pokemon, and the exclusive formula for those is quite expensive!”

”However, generally, those breeders won’t sell their formulas.”

Upon hearing this, Naoki became interested: ”Formula?”

”That’s right!” Alder nodded: ”There are many Berries in this world, some of which only grow in specific regions, and each Berry can combine with others to create a type of energy cube. If really counted, there are probably several thousand formulas!”

Naoki understood.

Seeing his curiosity about energy cubes, Alder promptly said:

”When we get to the Unova Region, I’ll arrange for a breeder to teach you!”

Naoki felt a bit moved but hesitated: ”Wouldn’t that be troublesome...”

He’s never really pulled strings before!

”What are you thinking!” Alder laughed: ”Of course it’s in my personal capacity. The person is a friend I met when I was Champion; she’s a top Pokemon breeder!”

Seeing this, Naoki didn’t decline: ”I’ll leave it to you then, Mr. Alder.”

”Aren’t you going to give those candies to Glastrier? Go on! Then we can discuss when to set off for the Unova Region.” Alder said.

Naoki nodded, putting away the Shaderoot Carrot Pokeblock, planning to give it to Spectrier tomorrow.

If he gives them together, Glastrier might get more upset.

With the Iceroot Carrot Pokeblock in hand, he approached the stable.

Seeing him coming, Glastrier immediately turned his back.

Nearby, Spectrier seemed to enter a sage mode, with a trophy balanced on its head.
