Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 636: Chapter 344: Arrival in Unova, Breeder Advanced Studies! The Mysterious Pokeblock!

Naoki roughly understood.

He carefully washed and peeled the Berries, then placed them into the Berry processor.

After waiting for nearly fifteen minutes, with a ding, a few dozen Pokeblocks, about the size of glass marbles, rolled out from the outlet at the bottom of the processor.

Naoki picked up one.

In the next second, the information of this Pokeblock appeared in his mind.

[Sturdy Pokeblock (C): A Pokeblock made from Aspear Berry, Lapapa Berry, and Pinap Berry, with a sour taste.

Cooking Effect: Level 1 Strong Polishing, after eating, the Pokemon will polish its strength, the nutrients inside will make the body stronger, gradually building muscle.

Evaluation: The most basic Pokeblock, the first choice of Coordinator Trainers participating in the Glamorous Contest.]

”Looks like you succeeded on your first try!” Yu Hui laughed, ”These Pokeblocks are almost impurity-free, meaning their quality is quite good.”

”Humans can eat these Pokeblocks too, right?” Naoki asked.

”Of course.”

Upon hearing this, Naoki tossed the Pokeblock in his hand into his mouth and chewed twice, then... frowned at the sourness.

Yu Hui chuckled, ”Very sour, right? This is just the case for us humans. The tolerance of Pokemon is completely different from that of humans. Some foods that are hard to swallow for us are rare delicacies for Pokemon.”

Upon hearing this, Naoki fed a Pokeblock to Koraidon, who also stuck out its tongue at the sourness, starting to salivate excessively.

Naoki: ”...” Is there something wrong with his production process?

Yu Hui smiled, ”It seems you’ve successfully learned how to make Pokeblocks, so next, try developing your own Pokeblock recipes!”

”I have other things to do. If you need anything, you can contact me via the phone over there. Feel free to use the Berries here.”

After saying this, Yu Hui turned and left to attend to her own matters.

Naoki wasn’t worried. Now that he roughly knew how to make Pokeblocks, it was time to practice and become proficient.

So, after Yu Hui left, Naoki stayed behind and continued to practice, trying to develop his own Pokeblock recipes.

This process was not smooth.

The first time, an excessive amount of Berries caused the processor to explode and emit smoke, halting operation.

The second time, the wrong mix of Berries resulted in Pokeblocks full of impurities and an extremely awful taste. Koraidon spat it out after one bite and almost fainted.

The third time, Naoki learned from past mistakes and used several Berries he was more familiar with.

This time, he finally succeeded in making Pokeblocks again.

[Nutritious Pokeblock (D-): Effect, provides minimal nutrition needed for Pokemon’s body, Evaluation: The low compatibility of the Berries led to very poor quality Pokeblocks.]

Looking at this hard-earned Pokeblock, Naoki couldn’t help but wipe the sweat from his forehead.

Indeed, making Pokeblocks without a recipe was incredibly difficult.

This was not something an average person could produce.

But Naoki did not give up. He discarded these unpalatable Pokeblocks and continued exploring.

As time ticked by, the process of randomly combining Berries to make Pokeblocks felt like a lottery, truly addictive.

After countless failures, Naoki finally succeeded in making a second kind of Pokeblock.

This one was a strangely colored Pokeblock, blue-pink with purple spots, resembling a poisonous mushroom and looking downright awful.

Moreover, this Pokeblock emitted an indefinably awful smell.

The moment Koraidon saw this Pokeblock, it immediately retreated several meters, pressing itself against the wall and looking over with a face full of fear.

Naoki: ”...”

It’s just a Pokeblock, is it really that frightening?

While grumbling inwardly, Naoki looked down, and the information of these Pokeblocks emerged in his mind.

[Poipole Delicacy (B+): A foul-tasting Pokeblock that can make a Pokemon faint upon consumption, but for Poipole, it’s a rare delicacy.

Cooking Effect: Poipole Special Attack, Poipole’s favorite flavor, placing it in the wild has a chance to attract Poipole, this effect is only effective for Poipole.

Evaluation: A Pokeblock exclusively for Poipole.]
