Not Being a Trainer This Time

Next, after knocking and striking those wooden dummy posts a few times, once everything was completed, a practice area specifically for Farfetch’d was set up.

There were a total of nine wooden dummy posts, arranged in three rows both horizontally and vertically, looking very orderly.

Naoki had agreed with Farfetch’d last night that to avoid letting the Berry Platter affect its body, whether by being overfull or becoming a fat duck with thick fat, it would only be provided with six portions of Berry Platter each day.

Twice each in the morning, noon, and evening.

But Farfetch’d did not agree, as it patted the fluff on its chest, assuring that it could eat more!

So Naoki had to change six times to nine times.

Even so, Farfetch’d still couldn’t stop thinking about the Berry Platter. Having endured so much yesterday, it swore to master that move of Divine Sword Techniques, or else all the suffering would be in vain!

Naoki called the Farfetch’d back here from its daze over a Berry and said to it:

”Practice those moves right here!”

Farfetch’d held its leek, with a serious expression and determined eyes.

After a night’s rest, it once again regained its full swordsman demeanor.

Hearing Naoki’s words, it suddenly raised its leek and vertically slashed at one of the wooden dummy posts.

Feeling the impact and heaviness in its hand, Farfetch’d was very satisfied with this place; it was even more perfect than the waterfall it used to train its sword techniques before.

”Quack!” Farfetch’d nodded at Naoki, then its agile figure quickly shuttled among the dummy array, continuously striking the wooden dummies with the leek in its hand.

Seeing this scene, Naoki hesitated as if wanting to say something.

Actually, he wanted to tell Farfetch’d that it could pause the training first, and then start retraining the forgotten moves after gaining usable skills through the Berry Platter.

After all, it only knows Sword Dance now; even if it forgets, it would be a loss...

But seeing Farfetch’d’s serious and hardworking appearance, Naoki swallowed back these words.

Forget it, just let Farfetch’d continue practicing, constantly increasing its move proficiency is also great for it.

When it practices these moves to an exceptional level, even if forgotten, it can quickly relearn them.

Keri watched this scene with great interest from the side: ”What a hardworking Pokemon it is!”

Naoki smiled, thinking indeed, this Farfetch’d worked so hard to master its moves yesterday that it almost ate forty Berries, nearly bursting itself.

The two turned and walked towards the house.

Next, they’d help Slugma build a residence.

On the road, Keri looked into the distance, her gaze landed on the other side of the river, and suddenly said to Naoki:

”Haven’t you thought about expanding the ranch? That way, the Pokemon would have more space to move about, and you could raise more Pokemon.”

Naoki was slightly taken aback: ”Expand the ranch?” How?

Following Keri’s gaze, he saw that open area across the river.

Naoki instantly understood, surprised: ”Can those lands be bought?”

”Of course.” Keri nodded with a smile, ”However, it would require a significant amount of money, but there’s an advantage. Once you buy it, that land is yours, perfectly suited for a rancher planning to expand their operations.”

Naoki was deeply intrigued.

If he bought that land, he could raise more Pokemon!

He’d always wanted to raise some Wooloo and Tropius, as well as other Pokemon.

But due to the limited space of the ranch, these ideas had never been realized.

And now...

Naoki was somewhat excited but soon calmed down because there were still some details he didn’t understand.

”What about the property rights?” Naoki asked.

”Property rights?” Keri was a bit puzzled by this question.

Naoki explained, ”If I buy that land, would there be a time limit, like after seventy years the land no longer belongs to me?”

”How could that be?” Keri, a bit confused but still explained, ”Once you buy that land, it’s yours! The League will issue you a land deed and register the information online.”

”Even when you get old, you can pass it down to your descendants, it’ll always be yours. If anyone encroaches on your land, you can report it to the League, and they’ll send someone to deal with it.”

”Perpetual land?” Naoki felt as if his breath nearly stopped.

”Unless you sell it to someone else.” Keri laughed.

”Where can I go to make the purchase then?” Naoki asked.

”It’s simple... Uh, you can ask Mayor Thomas. He’s the mayor and can help you resolve this issue,” Keri said.

”Alright, I understand.” Naoki decided to find Mayor Thomas soon and bring that piece of land across the river into his ranch.

By then, he’d hire several more Diglett workers, then plant a few plots, grow fruit trees, crops, and flowers, creating an area similar to the Apple Garden in Kitakami.

Besides planting, he could also raise more productive Pokemon.

Like Tropius.

Tropius grows fruit on its neck, with two harvests a year. Although the fruit from one Tropius might not yet exceed what it usually eats, it’s a Pokemon! Whether it makes money doesn’t matter, as long as it’s kept at home he’s happy.
