Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 635: Chapter 344: Arrival in Unova, Breeder Training! The Marvelous Pokeblock!

”Follow me!” Yu Hui said, ”I’ll take you to the baking room where we make Pokeblocks.”

The two of them went downstairs, and as they passed the hall, Naoki saw several young people there participating in some examination.

”That’s the breeder’s examination.” Yu Hui paused and guided Naoki closer to observe, asking, ”Do you know what a Pokemon Breeder is?”

Naoki was slightly taken aback and then replied, ”Someone who takes care of and raises Pokemon?”

”Yes and no,” Yu Hui smiled, ”A Pokemon Breeder refers to someone among Pokemon Trainers who specializes in cultivating and managing the health of Pokemon.”

”Helping to groom Pokemon to make them look vibrant, and crafting different Pokemon foods according to each Pokemon’s needs, are all easy tasks for a breeder.”

”In addition, the field of breeders also includes Pokemon Researchers and Pokemon Doctors. In short, it’s a profession with a very broad scope.”

At this point, the two arrived next to the examination area.

Naoki saw a Pokemon standing in front of each of the young people.

They were walking around these Pokemon, as if observing something.

Yu Hui: ”This is a skill that must be mastered to become a Pokemon Breeder, determining their condition through their appearance and expressions, and providing corresponding improvement plans.”

Naoki became interested immediately: ”Can you really tell so much just from appearance and expressions?”

”Of course.” Yu Hui smiled slightly, lifted her foot, and walked toward Koraidon, who was standing next to Naoki, beginning to observe this unfamiliar Pokemon.

”A strong aura of Dragon Type Energy... This Pokemon is a Dragon Type Pokemon.”

”Its body is very robust, those well-developed muscles and body prove the richness of the nutrition and calories in its usual diet.”

”Its eyes are bright, this Pokemon is currently in a very good mood. It seems it is very happy by your side, its eyes glow when it looks at you. This Pokemon must really like you.”

”It looks like you take good care of it!” Yu Hui smiled, ”If you regularly polish the scales on this Pokemon, its condition would become even more perfect!”

”Clap clap clap!” Naoki clapped his hands in admiration, ”Miss Yu Hui is amazing!”

”May I know the name of this Pokemon?” Yu Hui asked.

Naoki nodded, reached out to pat Koraidon’s head as it approached, and introduced, ”Its name is Koraidon, a Pokemon that has always been by my side.”

”Koraidon...” Yu Hui murmured the name once and then said, ”I’ll remember it. Let’s go! Next, I’ll teach you how to make Pokeblocks!”

With Yu Hui leading, Naoki arrived at a baking room.

It was filled with many specialized machines and refrigerators.

Yu Hui introduced, ”To make Pokeblocks, you need a specialized berry processor. This machine mixes the berries put into it, and after a series of processes, it makes them into Pokeblocks that drop out from the exit.”

The berry processor... it reminded Naoki of the Berry Blender from the games.

He asked, ”Does the machine make Pokeblocks automatically?” If it’s all automated, then making Pokeblocks seems too simple?

Yu Hui shook her head, ”Although the machine is fully automated, if you just put in berries randomly, it will produce Pokeblocks so unpleasant that they can make a Pokemon faint. Your ranch should also grow berries, right?”

Naoki responded, ”Yes, that’s right.”

Yu Hui: ”Then you should also know that different berries have different flavors, nutrition, and uses. Some berries are spicy but very nutritious, while some are sweet but don’t contain much nutrition.”

”A qualified breeder will select berries with high compatibility and make use of all the berries’ strengths. Only this way can you make high-quality Pokeblocks.”

”Although hundreds of berries can be combined, sometimes just one different berry can dramatically change the effect of the Pokeblock.”

Naoki asked with interest, ”So, Pokeblocks are made by randomly pairing those berries?”

Yu Hui nodded slightly, ”You could say that. I have a basic Pokeblock recipe here, give it a try!”

With that, Yu Hui handed over a note.

Naoki reached out and took it, seeing that it read:

[Pokeblock Recipe: Aspear Berry x1, Lapapa Berry x1, Pinap Berry x1, Effect: Pokemon consuming this Pokeblock over a long period will become stronger in body.]

”To make Pokeblocks, first wash the berries clean,” Yu Hui instructed.

Naoki nodded, went to the washing area, and began carefully cleaning the skins of the three berries.

When washing the Pinap Berry, Naoki suddenly thought of a question, ”Do these berries need peeling?”

Yu Hui: ”Some require peeling, and some don’t. For Pinap Berries, you need to remove the excess peel and only use the flesh. The same goes for Nanab Berries, whereas Pecha Berries don’t need peeling. The specifics depend on the properties of each berry.”
