Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 623: Chapter 340: Recipe Unlocked: Iceroot Carrot Pokeblock

The coronation ceremony is over, and now it’s time to return to one’s throne.

With a proud expression, Spectrier held its head high, ready to return to the stable in the pasture to eat a few Shaderoot Carrots.

Seeing that Spectrier was about to leave, Naoki didn’t even care about talking to the excited Allen. He said a few words casually to bid farewell and then got up to catch up with Spectrier.

”Want to go back?” Naoki asked.

Spectrier nodded slightly.

”Alright.” Naoki nodded, leading Spectrier to the exit of the horse race meeting, where they met Alder and a group of Pokemon waiting there.

Alder and the Pokemon stared at the golden trophy atop Spectrier’s head, suddenly dumbfounded.

”What... what’s going on?” Alder exclaimed.

Naoki: ”That’s the crown.”

Koraidon twitched the corners of its mouth: ”Ugh...” It was clearly a trophy.

Alder: ”Pfft—”

With a proud expression, Spectrier glanced at Alder in front of him, then continued onward with its head held high.

Hm, foolish human!

Alder was momentarily at a loss, wondering why he felt disdained by this Pokemon.

Naoki looked at Ogerpon, smiling and asking, ”Did you have fun today?”

”Boney!”

Ogerpon nodded its little head repeatedly; it was very happy today, as everyone wasn’t afraid of it, and it loved this place!

”That’s good then.” Naoki smiled slightly: ”Next time, I’ll take you to the Harvest Festival behind the mountain.”

”Boney~” Ogerpon looked forward to it.

Now, it’s time to go home.

On the way back to the pasture, Spectrier never entered the Poke Ball; it wore the trophy like a king surveying its territory.

Naoki and Alder walked behind.

The two could tell what this Pokemon was thinking—it was showing off.

”Could Spectrier have mistaken that trophy for a crown?” Alder posed as if he wanted to laugh but dared not let it out.

Naoki: ”...It seems so.”

Alder suppressed his laughter: ”It suits quite well.”

Naoki thought of Glastrier at home and wondered what reaction Glastrier would have upon seeing Spectrier.

Soon, Naoki got the answer to this question.

When they arrived at the pasture, Spectrier headed straight to its stable.

Glastrier, who had been sulking in the stable, raised its head and instantly saw the golden crown atop Spectrier’s head.

!!!

Glastrier widened its eyes in astonishment.

Spectrier glanced sideways at it and then walked into its stable, bowing to munch on the Shaderoot Carrots inside.

Glastrier’s gaze locked on the trophy, watching it as it moved.

That thing... is a crown!

Judging by Spectrier’s demeanor, it was evident it had won the horse racing meeting, becoming the mightiest Horse-type Pokemon in the world.

And that crown is proof of its ascension as the king among horses!

Glastrier’s heart was filled with envy and jealousy.

Its breath gradually became heavy, with a cold icy breath constantly spraying from its nostrils.

That crown rightfully should have belonged to it!

Spectrier ignored the increasingly agitated Glastrier.

Just as Naoki thought the two Horse-type Pokemon might fight over the ”crown,” Glastrier suddenly turned its head and gazed at him.

Glastrier had a resentful expression, then grumpily turned, showing him its rear.

Naoki: ”...”

He knew it!

Alder, standing by, could hardly hold his laughter. He found Naoki’s household far too entertaining.

Almost every day, he saw various Pokemon—happy, joyful, jealous, lazy, or having tantrums...

These are the troubles of capturing too many Pokemon!

But for a Trainer, it’s indeed a blissful trouble.

”What do you plan to do?” Alder asked with a smile.

Naoki let out a helpless sigh; based on past experience, he should go and comfort Glastrier now.

But knowing Glastrier’s temperament, it probably wouldn’t be easily coaxed.

Naoki found himself in deep thought.

In his mind, he pictured Glastrier’s favorite food, Iceroot Carrot, and recalled the cubed sugar other trainers fed the Horse-type Pokemon during the horse racing meeting.

Cubed sugar—a high-end sugar product made from refined granulated sugar, shaped into semi-square blocks.

Got it!

Naoki’s mind instantly came up with a plan to appease Glastrier.

He would merge Iceroot Carrot with cubed sugar, crafting them into Iceroot Carrot Pokeblock for Glastrier!

Thinking of this, Naoki went to the Iceroot Carrot field and picked a basket of Iceroot Carrots.

Now, both the Iceroot Carrot and Shaderoot Carrot fields were under the care of Calyrex.

The growth of these special carrots took a long time, so to ensure his two beloved horses could eat their favorite foods daily, Calyrex would routinely accelerate the ripening of the carrot seeds in these fields.

Naoki then harvested them and delivered them to the two horses’ stables.

He brought the basket of Iceroot Carrots into the kitchen and began preparations.

Iceroot Carrot is a particularly unique ingredient, growing only in icy, snowy lands with very demanding environmental requirements.

Due to its distinct growth environment, this carrot naturally contains Ice Type Energy.

The Ice Type Energy stored inside the carrot affects it, transforming the ordinary carrot seed into something mutated, with all colors turning a snowy pure white.
