Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 628: Chapter 342: Tachi Hero Farfetch’d, Heading to Unova

After confirming the time to depart for the Unova Region, Naoki began to get busy.

Before officially setting off, he still had some things to do.

The most important among them was preparing the Berry Platter for Farfetch’d for these days.

This journey to the Unova Region would take at least a week before coming back.

Farfetch’d eats three meals a day, three servings per meal, needing to eat nine servings of Berry Platter a day, which amounts to sixty-three servings for seven days.

With so many Berry Platters, the berries at home were somewhat insufficient, so Naoki simply headed to the Berry Garden and picked a few baskets of berries to prepare the Berry Platter Farfetch’d needed.

In the living room, Naoki stuffed the prepared Berry Platters into the fridge while instructing the Indeedee Sibling watching on the side:

”I’m going to leave the ranch for a few days, these Berry Platters are Farfetch’d’s food for the coming days, remember to give it three servings at a time, once each morning, noon, and evening.”

”Make sure not to give too much at once, or if Farfetch’d eats up all these Berry Platters in one go, it might die from overeating, becoming the world’s first Farfetch’d to die from overeating.”

”Indeedee~”

”Indeedee.”

The siblings responded in unison, indicating that they remembered.

”Very good, then I’ll leave everyone at the ranch in your care!” Naoki nodded and said, ”If there’s anything you can’t solve, consult with Calyrex, and if Mew and Teddiursa deliver items and Pokemon, just let them stay at the ranch, everything will be settled upon my return.”

”Indeedee!”

After giving his instructions, Naoki headed to the dummy zone to find Farfetch’d practicing moves and techniques there.

Farfetch’d held a leek, its expression serious, swinging the leek continuously, leaving the technique simple and unadorned, chopping the wooden dummy repeatedly.

Naoki stood by with arms crossed, watching until Farfetch’d emerged from its concentration and noticed him.

Naoki: ”How’s it going? Is practice going smoothly? Have you realized any impressive moves?”

”Quack!” Farfetch’d nodded, then shook its head.

The nod indicated smooth practice, while the shake indicated it hadn’t comprehended any impressive moves yet.

Every time Farfetch’d thought about this, it felt incredibly unlucky.

Clearly learning a couple of impressive moves at noon, only to forget them entirely by night.

The only comfort to it was that throughout this constant forgetting and realizing, its mastery of the sword skills it originally possessed had become more proficient.

And with each practice, Farfetch’d’s understanding of these moves was continuously improving.

Like Cut, Iaido Slash, Fury Cutter, Aerial Ace.

Just like now.

To showcase its realized skills to Naoki, Farfetch’d turned around, facing the wooden dummies in front, focusing its breath.

It held the leek, assuming a Sheathing the Sword posture, eyes sharp.

In the next moment, a flurry of Double Team quickly flew out from Farfetch’d, flashing white, with dozens of shadow clones simultaneously unsheathing for an Iaido attack.

These milky white lights enveloped the blade, transforming into Sword Qi that struck uniformly on the wooden dummies.

With a crunch, the battered wooden dummies finally couldn’t endure Farfetch’d’s drills, completely falling apart.

Farfetch’d sheathed its sword, and the surrounding Double Team disappeared in unison.

Naoki’s eyes shone.

This set of moves is impressive!

Double Team + Iaido Slash?

Yet, Farfetch’d’s moves made Naoki inexplicably feel familiar.

Sheathing the Sword, Iaido.

The subsequent move should be... Dragon Ascending?

But Farfetch’d didn’t have a follow-up move.

Naoki couldn’t help but say, ”Seems like something’s missing.”

”Quack?” Hearing this, Farfetch’d looked puzzled.

Naoki: ”After Iaido, you can completely follow with another move.”

Farfetch’d grew more puzzled, what move?

It looked at Naoki, inquiring, ”Quack?”

”After the strike, you can seize the moment when the opponent hasn’t reacted and charge to its front, jump high stepping on them, then chop down.” Naoki concisely explained.

Hearing this, Farfetch’d couldn’t help but fall into deep thought.

It gazed at the leek in hand, pondering the possibility of this move.

Its wings caressed the leek’s stem, and after a long while, Farfetch’d began to move.

It held the leek, focusing its breath.

Sheathing—

Farfetch’d’s gaze locked onto a wooden dummy, its eyes becoming sharp.

Iaido Slash—

A dense white glow enveloped the leek, with the leek acting as a sword blade performing a horizontal slash.

A gap instantly appeared on the wooden dummy, but the attack wasn’t over.

In a swift motion, Farfetch’d retracted the leek, charged forward, jumped high onto the dummy, leveraging over the top of the wooden dummy.

Then, chop—

”Beautiful!” Alder, watching from behind, applauded admiringly: ”I didn’t expect you’d have such unique insight into swordsmanship!”

Naoki: ”...”

Could he say he learned this from a certain two-character weapon?

Unfortunately, Farfetch’d can’t use Protect. If it used Protect in Sheathing the Sword state, maybe it could really see through incoming attacks like Tachi Hero’s Iaijutsu and perfectly defend against them.

Farfetch’d put away the leek, reminiscing the feeling just now, then looked at Naoki with an excited expression.
