Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 633: Chapter 343: Ursaluna Crossing the Sea? (Part 3)

On the way, it met Ogerpon, who was traveling to Kitakami with a man by boat, and had a brief exchange with Ogerpon.

So what would the fate of that Ursaluna be?

Did it sink into the sea, or successfully reach its destination?

Naoki did not know.

Unfortunately, Ursaluna no longer exists in this world because the Peat Block that evolves Ursaring has ceased to exist.

Speaking of the Pokemon Ursaring, Naoki thought of his own Teddiursa.

Looking at Teddiursa, it seems that it did not intend to evolve into Ursaring.

To prevent itself from evolving, Teddiursa has been carrying an Everstone.

Just as Naoki was deep in thought, a slightly excited female voice suddenly came from behind.

”Wow! What a beautiful and wild Pokemon!”

Naoki and a group of Pokemon turned around to see an elegant woman, dressed in an expensive pencil dress and wearing a hat, walking over, enthusiastically looking at Flutter Mane.

”If I’m not mistaken, this should be a big Misdreavus, right?”

”It’s called Flutter Mane.” Naoki asked, ”Is there something you need?”

”Oh haha! Don’t be so tense!” The woman laughed softly: ”Little brother, I really like this Pokemon, would you like to exchange it with big sister me? I can trade a very rare Snivy for your Flutter Mane!”

Naoki thought he heard wrong: ”What?”

The woman took out a Poke Ball, and accompanied by a flash of white light, a snake-like Pokemon appeared on the deck.

It has a green body, but its abdomen and feet are cream-colored, and a yellow stripe runs from its back to its tail.

”Trading Pokemon!” the woman said, ”Didn’t you know? Using that machine over there, you can swap Snivy and Flutter Mane into each other’s Poke Ball!”

Naoki understood and refused without hesitation: ”No thanks, I’m not interested.”

The woman glanced at the few Pokemon beside him and reluctantly said: ”Alright then, if you change your mind, be sure to come find big sister me!”

With that, the woman turned and left.

Flutter Mane squinted, belatedly realizing her intention.

Flutter Mane was angry, how dare this human treat it like a Berry to be traded!

It ground its teeth, about to rush out and teach that person a hard lesson.

Seeing Flutter Mane about to run off, Naoki quickly grabbed it: ”Stop right there!”

”Grrrr!”

Flutter Mane fiercely showed its little fangs.

Naoki: ”...”

Naoki struggled hard to hold Flutter Mane back, just as Alder returned and, surprised at the scene, asked: ”What’s happening?”

Naoki, somewhat helpless: ”Someone wanted to trade Pokemon with me, and Flutter Mane got angry.”

Hearing this, Alder paused for a moment, and when he saw the Pokemon next to Naoki, he immediately guessed Naoki must have refused.

After calming Flutter Mane’s emotions, Naoki finally asked: ”Alder, is exchanging Pokemon commonplace in this world?”

”No, but it happens sometimes.” Alder looked rather helpless: ”Because not every Trainer and Pokemon can become a good team.”

”Sometimes, after capturing a Pokemon, a Trainer might find they are not very compatible, and a captured Pokemon, without forming deep bonds with the Trainer, might occasionally prefer another kinder, more capable Trainer.”

”At times like this, they would exchange Pokemon to form a more suitable partnership.”

Naoki understood: ”I see, to be honest, this is the first time I’ve encountered this.”

Alder sighed, ”Of course, not everyone is like that. There are still people in this world who treat Pokemon as tools or pets. To them, as long as there’s a better Pokemon, the old one can be freely abandoned.”

This is common among some nouveau riche.

Whenever this happens, Alder thinks there might be some merit in Plasma Team’s advocacy for ”liberating Pokemon.”
