Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 540: Chapter 310: Geeta’s Plan, the Arrival of Zapdos!

Naoki asked Leon to wait for a while in the living room while he went to the wine cellar, where he retrieved several glasses of brewed Berry Wine and arranged them in a line in front of Leon.

Leon’s attention was immediately drawn to these wines with their mixed fruit aromas.

”Are these the Berry Wines you brewed with magical effects?” he inquired.

Naoki nodded and introduced them one by one, ”The bottle on the left is Pecha Berry Wine, drinking it will enhance a Pokemon’s resistance to Poison Type.”

”The one in the middle is Cheri Berry Wine, similar to Pecha Berry Wine, it boosts paralysis resistance for a Pokemon, reducing the likelihood of being paralyzed by opponent’s moves like Thunder Wave or Stun Spore.”

”The one on the right is Aspear Berry Wine, which warms a Pokemon’s body, making it less susceptible to being frozen.”

Hearing about these, Leon couldn’t help but widen his eyes, disbelief written all over his face.

”Do these Berry Wines really have such effects?!”

In the Galar Region, some stores also sell Berry Wine, so for Leon, these wines weren’t uncommon.

What surprised him were the effects these wines could offer.

It’s known that some strict trainers push their Pokemon through grueling training to enhance resistance and endurances to different types.

Like making Fire Type Pokemon, which are afraid of water, swim in rivers, or having Poison-fearing Pokemon endure poisoning, achieving training goals that way.

And now, according to Naoki, this power enhancement could be achieved without such training?

Leon couldn’t help but look up.

Naoki smiled, nodding, ”Indeed, as the first Trainer to complete the Grass Trial, you deserve these rewards.”

Grass Trial... reminded Leon of the original trial rules Naoki mentioned earlier: ”Does what I did count as passing?”

A single Gogoat could be countered by Charizard, two Gogoats were barely a victory, but facing three at once wouldn’t be so easy.

Naoki realized his implication and sighed, ”I didn’t consider this thoroughly at first, so I plan to modify the challenge rules later.”

The stages remain unchanged, but challengers only need to defeat one to win a reward and gain qualification for the second stage, challenging two Gogoats simultaneously.

If the second stage is won as well, their strength is recognized, and more rare dishes will be presented as a reward.

And so on.

”I see!” Leon realized, smiling brightly, ”Thank you very much!”

Naoki gave the three Berry Wines away, ”From now on, they are yours, and you can decide which Pokemon to give them to.”

Without hesitation, Leon fed these Berry Wines to Pokemon like Dragapult, Charizard, and Haxorus.

Seeing the lively Pokemon, all spirited and without a trace of weakness, Leon once again felt astonished by the effects of the Life Sheep Milk.

”Is this Life Sheep Milk really produced by Gogoats?”

”Yes.” Naoki nodded slightly, ”In the Paldea Region, it has a lovely name, called Life Sheep Milk.”

”This Life Sheep Milk has the effect of instantly helping Pokemon recover strength, even curing hidden injuries that a Pokemon Center cannot heal.”

”To think that such a Life Sheep Milk exists in this world!” Leon was astonished beyond measure.

Speaking of this, Naoki suddenly remembered something.

He casually asked, ”Does Mr. Leon know the Champion Alder from the Unova Region?”

”Alder?” Leon slightly froze.

Naoki explained, ”I heard from the chief that Mr. Alder’s Volcarona has been overstrained and has become weak from battle, I was thinking maybe this Life Sheep Milk could help.”

Hearing this, Leon immediately understood Naoki’s intent.

After a brief daze, he grinned and said, ”Although I am not very familiar with Alder, I will contact the Unova League when I return to the Galar Region and have Alder come to see you!”

Naoki really is a kind Trainer! Leon thought, not only powerful but also willing to help others, such talent... it would be great to have him in the Galar Region.

”I would appreciate it.” Naoki expressed his gratitude.

”No trouble at all.” Leon beamed, eyes bright, seeming expectant, and asked, ”If someday my Pokemon suffers an incurable injury, you will help me too, right?”

Naoki: ”...”

”You’re always welcome at the ranch,” he replied.

”I will!”

Next, Naoki and Leon talked about other matters.

Like Calyrex and the shrine in the mountains.

When Calyrex was mentioned, Leon pulled a small wooden sculpture from his pocket and said to Naoki:

”This was a souvenir recommended by an uncle when I first arrived in the town. To be honest, I was surprised to see it. I didn’t expect Calyrex to be so famous in the Paldea Region!”

Upon hearing this, Naoki glanced at the sculpture, momentarily unsure of what to say.

”Because not long ago, Calyrex performed a miracle on the mountainside, and as a token of gratitude, the Paldea League built a shrine for it on the mountainside.”
