Chapter 533: Chapter 306: Flutter Mane’s Survival Instinct, Leon’s Arrival (4000)_2

The midnight ranch was silent, except for an occasional Bug Buzz from the grass, there was no other sound.

Moonlight poured down, illuminating the night so brightly, it wasn’t as clear as daytime, but one could barely make out the surrounding things.

In the middle of the night, Glastrier had already fallen asleep, while Spectrier hadn’t yet drifted off.

Three Gogoats lay in the shed, resting their heads on the soft grass and peacefully dreaming.

The Combees burrowed into the hive, dreaming sweet dreams in their sweetly scented wooden house.

Butterfree alighted on a branch of the World Tree, standing there, deeply asleep.

Naoki followed behind Flutter Mane, watching as Flutter Mane looked around, then began to levitate outside the ranch.

He helplessly raised his feet to follow, one trainer and one Pokemon turned into a dense forest.

Flutter Mane levitated in the shadows, then glanced back baffled at Naoki who walked boldly on the main road.

——How does this human catch so many prey? With this reckless running outside, the prey would all be scared away.

Naoki finally couldn’t help but ask: ”What are you doing?”

At this moment, the grass rustled ahead.

Flutter Mane’s attention was instantly captured, it turned its head, ready to start capturing prey.

Seeing Flutter Mane’s action, Naoki instantly understood its thoughts.

It was engaging in a hunting activity!

This was Flutter Mane’s survival instinct! The ecological nature bred from its ancient species!

”No!”

Seeing Flutter Mane about to attack the Nymble emerging from the grass, Naoki hurriedly stopped it.

The Nymble, startled by the sound, quickly used its super jumping ability to leap ten meters high, fleeing in panic.

The hunting action was prevented, Flutter Mane wasn’t angry but looked over in puzzlement.

Seeing this, Naoki asked: ”Were you catching prey just now?”

”Dream.” Flutter Mane nodded.

Naoki shook his head and said: ”No, you don’t need to catch prey anymore, I told you before, I will raise you, which means I will provide food for you, and you will never need to hunt by yourself again.”

Flutter Mane still felt puzzled.

Naoki didn’t explain further, but took Flutter Mane back to the ranch, to the living room, and opened the storeroom and refrigerator doors, showing it the food inside, piled like a mountain.

Looking at the heap of food, Flutter Mane widened its eyes in shock.

”Dream...!”

This human’s hunting ability is amazing!

It looked at Naoki in admiration.

Naoki: ”...It seems you still don’t understand the meaning of Trainer and Pokemon.”

Just then, a few Pokemon were awakened by their voices and came out.

Naoki looked at them, explaining to Flutter Mane: ”For Pokemon, a Trainer will be its most important companion, friend, even family throughout its life.”

”After living with a Trainer, Pokemon no longer need to go out to get food because Trainers will prepare all kinds of delicacies to feed them, nurture them.”

In the darkness, Naoki looked into Flutter Mane’s eyes and said to it: ”You have become my Pokemon, so I will take care of you like that.”

Flutter Mane listened, somewhat understanding, through Koraidon’s introduction, it gained some understanding of this entirely different world these past two days.

Like this world has humans, and humans live with Pokemon.

But it still didn’t understand, how can humans acquire prey without the ability to fight or hunt?

Naoki roughly guessed Flutter Mane’s meaning.

So he took it to outside the Berry Garden and farm: ”Food comes from these places, as for meat, I will go to town and buy it with money.”

Naoki felt Flutter Mane might not understand these things, so he explained carefully and patiently:

”To be precise, it’s an exchange with others, like if someone only has meat but needs berries, I can use these berries from the ground to exchange for meat, now do you understand?”

Flutter Mane only found these things very complicated, listening until it felt dizzy, at the end it understood nothing.

Naoki: ”...”

He took a deep breath and then said to Flutter Mane:

”Nothing else matters, you don’t need to understand, everything is up to me.”

”All you need to remember is that I am your Trainer, from now on I will provide prey for you.”

”What you need to do is just sleep well and play happily with Koraidon! Understand?”

”Dream...”

Flutter Mane stared blankly at the human in front of it, still not understanding what a Trainer is.

Is a Trainer just a human who hunts for Pokemon? Then what are they for?

Flutter Mane couldn’t understand, in its perception, humans were really strange creatures.

Naoki noticed Flutter Mane’s confusion, pondering for a moment before speaking to it under the moonlight:

”Because human Trainers like Pokemon and want to live with them, that’s why they do these things.”

Like? What is like?

Naoki continued: ”I don’t know if you know what like is; for us humans, liking is being willing to do anything for the other party.”

Upon hearing this, Flutter Mane’s mind suddenly recalled the ”ghost” that vanished to protect Koraidon when it first met Koraidon.
