Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 507: Chapter 293: Shrine and Cemetery, The Legend of Houndstone!

The actions of the Paldea League are astonishingly swift.

When Rika mentioned building a shrine for Calyrex, a truck drove into the back mountain that very morning.

Out of curiosity, Naoki followed Rika over to watch.

He saw several burly men in blue work uniforms open the truck door and jump out, hammering away at the mountaintop.

Soon, a super luxurious shrine was completed.

The statue of Calyrex was placed in the center of the shrine, and the statue’s face was smiling, exuding an aura of gentleness and kindness.

Naoki was stunned.

”Isn’t this a bit over the top?”

Rika, standing beside him, smiled slightly. Perhaps the two had become more familiar through their chats because her tone was not as formal as it was initially.

”Yes~ That’s the speed of the Paldea League’s operations! Every member of the League is working hard!”

”And this is just the beginning!” A glint of anticipation flickered in Rika’s eyes: ”Next, these gentlemen will build stairways leading down the mountain on the path, constructing a large shrine!”

”Huh?” Naoki was dumbfounded: ”Isn’t this too extravagant?”

He initially thought only a small shrine would be built, like the one deep in the Glimwood Tangle.

”Haha!” Rika smiled and said earnestly: ”But compared to what Calyrex has done, these are just minor gestures!”

The ecosystem of this mountain was severely damaged. Restoring it would require a lot of manpower and a considerable amount of money.

Calyrex used its great power to restore everything here, saving the Paldea League a lot of expenses.

Therefore, whether on the surface or deep in their hearts, they sincerely thank Calyrex and Naoki.

”The Chairwoman told me that Calyrex once lost its faith, was forgotten by the world, and wandered alone on the vast snowy plains... Such legends are also circulating in Porto Marinada Town.”

At this point, Rika paused and then softly asked: ”With this, it should help Calyrex, right?”

Helping it gain belief, restoring its power.

Naoki nodded: ”That’s correct.”

But Calyrex’s power has already returned to its peak now, regarding these beliefs...

If there are more, it could accelerate its energy recovery and help the World Tree grow faster, but it’s okay if there aren’t any.

Hearing the definite answer from Naoki, Rika nodded gently: ”Ah~ that would be the best!”

”Calyrex should also be very happy to know that,” Naoki said, regretting that Calyrex remained at the ranch and did not come along.

”Ah~” Rika sighed, then remembered something and turned to ask: ”Do you wish for the Paldea League to tell the world about Calyrex being by your side?”

Naoki had already considered this matter before.

Hence, he shook his head and refused: ”Let’s just let it be.”

For instance, if Trainers hear about the legend of Calyrex and become interested in it, they might visit the shrine on the hillside in Porto Marinada Town.

Rather than rushing to the ranch to challenge Calyrex just because of its title as a Legendary Pokemon.

If that happened, Calyrex, who transitioned from a King to a farmer, would surely be very troubled.

Upon hearing this, Rika nodded: ”Because of the previous forest fire incident, many people are concerned, and they have sent many supplies for the surviving Pokemon.”

”Therefore, the Paldea League plans to tell the people living in this place through television news—a Legendary Pokemon with a loving heart couldn’t bear to see such a tragic situation, so it used its great power to rejuvenate the back mountain and restore the forest. What do you think of this?”

Naoki nodded, approving.

In that case, the deeds of Calyrex will forever be passed down in the Paldea Region?

Now is no longer the era of ancient kingdoms but a more enlightened era of the League, not to mention that newspapers and television can record the legend of Calyrex.

Even as the Chairwoman of the League, Geeta would find it difficult to erase the traces of Calyrex’s existence under such circumstances.

This way, no matter where Calyrex goes, it will no longer fall into its past plight.

Forgotten by the world, abandoned by its beloved horse, and lonely wandering on the Crown Tundra.

This was all Naoki could do for Calyrex, he thought.

At that moment, the men finished building Calyrex’s shrine.

Naoki originally thought they would turn and leave, but unexpectedly, they drove deeper into the forest.

Seeing this, Naoki was slightly puzzled, ”Where are they going?”

Rika sighed: ”The Paldea League intends to build a Pokemon cemetery deep in the forest to mourn those that perished in the fire, hoping that the Pokemon that lost their lives can rest in peace... It’s quite sad when you think about it.”

Naoki also remembered those deceased Pokemon they found while rescuing in the forest last year.

At that time, he dug a pit to bury them, offering prayers for those Pokemon alongside Pawmot and the others.
