Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 512: Chapter 295: Surging Faith (Bonus Chapter)

Meanwhile, in the Glass Greenhouse, Calyrex, who was resting with eyes closed, suddenly opened them as if sensing something.

What on earth... has happened?

How could there be so much Power of Faith?

Feeling the warm energy continuously pouring into its body, Calyrex’s pupils trembled.

This sudden surge of faith left it somewhat incredulous.

With a slight mental shift, Calyrex’s body appeared in the pasture.

It looked into the distance, trying to find the source of the power, but when it saw the surrounding situation clearly, it stood there dumbfounded.

Because that faith was not coming from any specific person but from all around the land simultaneously!

It was the people living on this land...

While moved at heart, Calyrex was also very surprised.

Because this amount of faith was so great that it far exceeded the faith it once received in the Galar Region!

This wave of faith, as vast as mountains and seas, transformed into a pure energy that surged into its body.

In just an instant, Calyrex felt its power becoming stronger than ever before.

Even exceeding its peak period!

”How could this be?” Calyrex couldn’t help but murmur.

To explore the truth of the matter, its form disappeared from the spot and reappeared beside Naoki, recounting the changes it experienced.

”I... I feel that more and more people have faith in me, and as a result, my power is rapidly increasing!”

Compared to the shocked Calyrex, Naoki was much more composed.

He smiled and invited Calyrex to sit down, then made it a cup of tea and began explaining what was happening.

”Because you previously used your abilities to restore the forest on the back hill, the Paldea League... which is akin to the king of this land, they built a shrine for you on the back hill to thank you.”

”This news reached some reporters, and they came to tell the people living on this land about what you did before.”

The ”old antique” Calyrex suddenly felt somewhat out of touch with the times.

It asked puzzledly, ”What is a reporter? How can they spread my deeds to so many people in such a short time?”

”Uh...” Naoki thought for a moment, then gave a detailed explanation to Calyrex: ”A reporter is a kind of profession, similar to an ancient messenger.”

”They specially look for some memorable or other important events to report, record them as programs, and then play them on television, which is this.”

Saying this, Naoki pointed to the television that was playing Pokemon mini-cartoons.

The so-called Pokemon mini-cartoons are just some small dramas of daily interactions between Pokemon and humans.

For instance, ”The Slugma-Powered Home,” ”Pancham Who Wants to be a Hero,” ”Snowy Summer Vacation,” and ”Song of Jigglypuff.”

Pawmot and Glaceon were watching intently.

Following the direction of Naoki’s finger, Calyrex gazed over there.

Although living on the farm, it had seldom interacted with these unfamiliar things and never asked about them. It had always stayed in the Glass Greenhouse that Naoki prepared for it, admiring flowers and enjoying tea.

At this moment, since leaving the Crown Tundra, Calyrex felt for the first time how much the world had changed.

Naoki continued: ”That’s a television, and the programs played on it are animations created by other humans and Pokemon. If they are broadcast on television, then any family with a television can see them.”

Hearing this, Calyrex roughly understood.

”So the reporter broadcast my deeds on television, and then those people watching television saw it,” he said.

”Exactly!” Naoki nodded, worthy of being Calyrex; it understood in just one go!

”I had never seen such things before.” After a brief moment of stupefaction, Calyrex remarked with an amazed tone, ”Who would have thought that in just a few thousand years, humanity would develop to such a degree? Truly admirable!”

Naoki smiled.

The era when Calyrex was active was still during the ancient, backward kingdom era.

At that time, there were no televisions, no internet, and no telephones; the speed of information transmission took a lot of time, incredibly closed off.

Even if Calyrex used its powers to make plants bloom and grow, there was probably no way to quickly spread the news.

Besides, Calyrex clearly wasn’t the type to deliberately show miracles in front of people.

Whether it was searching for Zacian and Zamazenta or transferring the power to the forest, it was certainly done quietly behind the scenes.

Even if someone witnessed it with their own eyes, there probably wouldn’t be many people.

In that era when communication with distant friends relied on sending letters, it was hard to spread such news.

Thinking about it like this, Naoki could roughly understand why the Galar Royal Family could so smoothly erase Calyrex’s achievements.

But such a situation will never occur again!

Even without him, Calyrex would not fall into the previous predicament again.

The plan to pave the way was perfectly realized, and Naoki couldn’t help but feel very happy inside.

Pokemon like Calyrex truly deserve respect.

He hoped Calyrex could have a better future, so he was willing to do these things for it.

It wasn’t in vain to have the identity of the Great Preacher of the Calyrex Crew!

At this moment, Calyrex also came to understand everything.

It knew in its heart that behind all of this, there was undoubtedly this little believer pushing things forward.

Calyrex was deeply moved and slowly said, ”Thanks to that faith, my power has now reached a new level.”

Naoki nodded and then said, ”There should be considerable growth following this.”

After all, this news had just been broadcast, and in the future, it would undoubtedly appear as headlines in various newspapers. Then, through word of mouth, more people would definitely know about Calyrex’s existence.

This was just one Paldea Region. If Calyrex’s deeds were promoted to other regions, making more people aware of its existence...

Then the kind of power Calyrex would possess was something Naoki didn’t dare imagine!

This is the greatness of divine faith!

The more faith there is, the stronger it becomes.

Moreover, Calyrex is different from traditional deities of faith. It does not need others to truly worship it; as long as someone knows of its existence and name, it can derive power from it.

Impressive!

”For now, the internet isn’t that developed, and Calyrex’s deeds can only circulate in the Paldea Region.”

”When the live broadcasting industry emerges and online forums thrive, then Calyrex’s name can be spread worldwide,” Naoki silently thought.

Whether it’s the Sinnoh Region, Hoenn Region, Unova Region, or the even farther Kanto Region and Johto Region, the tale of Calyrex will eventually reach there.
