Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 397: Chapter 247: Adaptable Glastrier (4k)_2

Naoki released Cyclizar from the Poke Ball and sat with it and Koraidon on the wooden tatami, enjoying their meal while watching the beautiful snow scene falling quietly outside the eaves.

”Calyrex hasn’t returned yet...” Naoki murmured to himself, deep in thought, ”It seems it still hasn’t found any trace of Spectrier.”

According to the game’s plot, both Glastrier and Spectrier actually reside in the Crown Shrine.

However, for various reasons, Calyrex has always been avoiding, so it doesn’t know the exact location of the two horses.

However, Naoki wasn’t worried.

After all, it’s the great Calyrex; it will inevitably find Spectrier’s location.

All he needed to do was to wait patiently here.

After dinner, the snow outside had lessened considerably.

Looking at the vast expanse of white snow in the courtyard, the innkeeper’s wife smiled and suggested, ”In this kind of weather, it’s not too cold. You can take the Pokemon out to make snowmen and have a snowball fight!”

Naoki initially thought it was too childish, a game for kids, and he was already in his twenties, a full-grown adult.

But the moment he turned his head, he saw the eager expressions on Koraidon and Cyclizar.

Naoki: ”...”

Alright then!

He stood up, ready to take the two Pokemon out to the snow to play for a while.

”Ah gah hiss!”

Koraidon let out an excited shout and dashed outside.

Cyclizar tentatively stepped one paw onto the snow, then immediately drew back in fear, looking pitiful.

”Gah oww...”

The effect of the Translation Nuts Cake had already been used up by Calyrex, Koraidon, and Glastrier, so Naoki couldn’t understand what Cyclizar was saying.

But judging from its tone and expression, it seemed to fear the cold.

With its hairless body and bare skin, Cyclizar indeed dreaded the cold.

Naoki thought for a moment, first comforting Cyclizar, asking Koraidon to wait for a little while, then approached the innkeeper’s wife to borrow her kitchen.

The innkeeper’s wife gladly agreed.

So, Naoki made several bowls of soup with cold resistance effects in the kitchen and distributed them to the Pokemon.

Glastrier also got a portion, but it seemed uninterested in the food, snorted, and turned its head away.

Naoki didn’t mind.

After finishing a bowl of soup, Cyclizar’s body warmed up, and finally, it could go out and play in the snow.

Cyclizar dashed happily into the snow, leaving a series of clear paw prints on the ground.

Meanwhile, Koraidon had already started rolling snowballs on the ground with its large paws, building two rough snowmen. It was anyone’s guess where it learned that from.

Seeing Naoki walk out, Koraidon immediately turned back and shouted, ”Ah gah!”

”What’s up?” Naoki stepped forward.

Koraidon pointed at the smaller snowman, then at itself, ”Ah gah hiss!”

Next, it pointed to the bigger snowman and then towards Naoki.

Naoki understood. He raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, ”This one is you, and this one is me?”

”Ah gah hiss!” Koraidon nodded its big head happily; they would always live together!

Cyclizar was drawn over by this scene, looking at the two snowmen with a naive expression.

After a moment, it started rolling snowballs with its paws, also wanting to build a snowman.

However, Cyclizar had never built a snowman before. After trying for a long time, it couldn’t roll out a decent snowball.

”Gah oww...” Cyclizar looked disheartened.

Naoki, seeing this, walked up helplessly and said with a smile, ”That’s not how you do it. Watch closely—”

He then molded a small snowball in his hands and placed it on the ground, continuously rolling it around, and gradually, the snowball grew bigger and bigger.

Cyclizar watched this scene with admiration.

When it seemed big enough, Naoki stopped and asked, ”Would you like to give it a try?”

Cyclizar began to try it out.

It formed a round snowball with its paws and then placed it on the ground, rolling it constantly.

Soon, a large snowball came together on the snow.

Naoki came over, rolling the two snowballs to where Koraidon had built the two snowmen, then put the smaller snowball on top of the larger one.

Thus, the third snowman was completed.

Naoki pointed at the snowman and said to Cyclizar, ”This is you.”

”Gah oww～”

Cyclizar was delighted; now it could also stay by Naoki’s side like Koraidon!

Koraidon, standing nearby, watched this scene with a moved expression.

For once, it did not feel jealous.

Because this scene was something it had experienced a long, long time ago.

Back then, Naoki had taught it to build a snowman just like now...

”Alright, you all continue playing!”

Naoki stood up from the snow and walked over to Glastrier with the reins, but Koraidon unexpectedly followed him.

Looking at Glastrier before him, Naoki thought inwardly.

”I remember that Calyrex transferred its power into Glastrier’s body through the Reins of Unity, then merged with it.”

So the question arises, if other Pokemon did the same, could they merge with Glastrier just like Calyrex?

Thinking of this, Naoki, intrigued, placed the reins around Glastrier’s neck.

Noticing the human’s malicious gaze, Glastrier’s heart skipped a beat.

Before it could react, the next second, it heard the human say, ”Koraidon, try riding on it!”
