Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 360: Chapter 232: Paradise, Book of Scarlet and Violet, Attempt at Taming? (Part 3)

In that case, he decided to use the natural instincts of a predator, trying to tame it with food, much like ancient primitive humans tamed wild wolves into hunting dogs.

Accompanied by a flash of white light, the still-wounded Scream Tail appeared on the grass not far away.

As soon as it came out, Scream Tail let out a series of agitated howls: ”Awoo awoo awoo awoo awoo!”

Koraidon: Glare!

Naoki watched the scene unfold. Ordinarily, Scream Tail should have followed its biological instincts, avoided a confrontation with the stronger Koraidon, and turned to flee.

However, this Scream Tail behaved unexpectedly.

It showed no fear, glaring at Koraidon, then attempted to launch an attack.

Koraidon immediately lashed out, slamming Scream Tail into the dirt with a powerful claw.

Scream Tail cried out in pain, letting out a distressed, lengthy howl.

Naoki: ”...” He began to question his actions, because this Scream Tail seemed really brainless, wasting its adorable appearance.

Naoki remained silent for a moment, then instructed Koraidon to hold the wailing Scream Tail down with its fist and placed a steak in front of it.

Scream Tail’s attention was instantly drawn to the aroma, and it immediately opened its mouth, revealing those small sharp teeth, eager to tear into the steak.

Yet in the next instant, the steak was taken away.

Scream Tail bit down on air, angrily glaring at the human in front of it: ”Awoo awoo awoo awoo awoo!”

Naoki attempted to communicate with it, pointing at himself and then at the steak: ”Listen to me, and I’ll give you meat.”

Scream Tail: ”Awoo awoo awoo awoo awoo!”

Naoki: ”?”

He raised a finger, signaling: ”Stop, don’t howl!”

Scream Tail: ”Awoo awoo awoo awoo awoo!”

It suddenly opened its mouth, lunging towards Naoki’s finger. Luckily, Naoki was prepared and quickly withdrew his finger.

”Argh!”

Koraidon became furious, releasing its aura without reservation.

That overwhelming aura engulfed the Scream Tail like a tidal wave of terror.

Scream Tail finally began to show fear, eyes filled with alarm, emitting a wail like a small beast in distress.

”There we go.” Naoki was speechless. He looked at the Scream Tail, placed the steak in front of it, and tried to soothe its emotions: ”Don’t be afraid, as long as you don’t attack me, we won’t harm you. Eat!”

Biological instincts made Scream Tail shiver, submitting to Koraidon’s oppressive might; it dared not eat.

Seeing this, Koraidon reluctantly eased up a bit: ”Argh...”

Scream Tail immediately focused intensely, using sharp tiger-like teeth to tear into the steak, its eating manner wild and rough, contrasting sharply with its appearance.

Naoki patiently waited for Scream Tail to finish, but as he approached, Scream Tail suddenly bared its teeth, growling threateningly.

”Grrr —”

”Sigh.” Naoki sighed, slightly disappointed.

This low-intelligence wild Pokemon might really be unfit for human taming?

From Scream Tail’s behavior, it seemed only willing to submit to a Pokemon like Koraidon, who could overpower it.

But for Naoki, an unarmed human, submission from the Scream Tail was absolutely impossible.

Ancient Scream Tails couldn’t comprehend the relationship between Trainer and Pokemon, and naturally wouldn’t see him and Koraidon as a unified entity.

Naoki figured it out; if he wanted to tame this Scream Tail, make it submit, he’d have to conquer it with his own strength.

But the problem was, could a weak human like him defeat Scream Tail?

If this were the world of Monster Hunter, perhaps he could.

He could wear armor and wield weapons made from Koraidon’s scales to hunt Scream Tail and Roaring Moon.

But unfortunately, this is the Pokemon World.
