Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 363: Chapter 234: Terastallize, Koraidon! (4k)

The variety of food at the institute isn’t extensive; it’s evident that the researchers don’t have a strong desire for indulgence.

Under the guidance of Professor Sada, Naoki and Koraidon arrived at the institute’s dining area.

It was mealtime, and this place was already filled with quite a few researchers holding trays, both men and women. They nodded and greeted Professor Sada upon seeing her.

Naoki looked at this group of researchers and saw a sense of admiration in some of their eyes.

”It seems that Professor Sada and Professor Turo have a high level of prestige here! But they do indeed have the strength to back it up,” Naoki thought to himself.

Professor Sada walked with a commanding presence, responding to her team of researchers while she said to Naoki:

”Due to limited ingredients, the dishes here might not compare to those outside; you’ll have to bear with it for the next few days.”

Naoki didn’t mind; he looked at Koraidon and said with a smile, ”No worries, we’re not picky eaters.”

Professor Sada curved her lips into a slight smile, ”After the meal, I’ll have someone show you to your accommodation. Tomorrow morning, we’ll take you on a tour of this institute.”

Naoki was very polite: ”Then I’ll have to trouble you a lot in the coming days!”

”No need to be so formal. By age, Turo and I are only eight years older than you, so the gap isn’t that big.”

Professor Sada found Naoki to be quite interesting and continued:

”Also, if it weren’t for you, we probably wouldn’t have been able to quickly master the method of communicating with Paradox Pokemon.”

Naoki smiled but didn’t speak. He thought that even without him, the two professors could have made Miraidon adapt to them.

Professor Sada took him to the dining area, introduced him to the chef at the window, and said: ”In the next few days, you can come here to eat if you’re hungry.”

The bearded chef inside the window waved his ladle and flashed a welcoming smile at Naoki and Koraidon: ”Don’t worry, Professor, I’ll take good care of our guests!”

”Thank you for your hard work.” Professor Sada nodded at him and then called over a relatively young researcher, telling him: ”After your meal, show our guest to his accommodation.”

”Yes!” The young researcher nodded respectfully in agreement.

After saying this, Professor Sada bid farewell to Naoki and turned to leave.

And the young man then shot Naoki a bright smile: ”Hello, I’m the professor’s assistant, Bucky. I’ll be responsible for showing you around here!”

As he spoke, he looked at Koraidon and said: ”This Koraidon must be number one, right?”

Naoki was a bit puzzled: ”Number one?”

Bucky explained: ”It’s the first Koraidon summoned by the professor. Besides number one, we also have a number two Koraidon and a number one Miraidon here at the institute, though their personalities clash, so the professor separated them.”

Hearing this, Naoki was slightly taken aback.

Does this mean there are currently two Koraidon and one Miraidon at the Area Zero Research Institute?

Wait, that doesn’t seem right! How does this differ from what he knew?

According to logic, if this is a fusion world, there should be four in total, two Koraidon and two Miraidon.

If following the game’s storyline, these four Pokemon would have a fierce conflict over territory, causing number one to flee the Giant Pit and be picked up by the game’s protagonist.

”Could it be that the fusion of the Scarlet and Violet Version worlds caused some automatic changes in certain places?”

Naoki was puzzled but did not show it.

He released Dragonite and Pawmot from their Poke Balls and took some Pokemon food for them before casually choosing a spot to sit down.

To his surprise, while the food for humans in the institute wasn’t great, the variety of Pokemon food was quite rich.

For example, dessert poffins, the magical Pokeblock, delicious Pokemon cookies, and fresh berries, everything was available.

Naoki guessed that the professor specially prepared these to tame the Paradox Pokemon.

Bucky was a cheerful young man, about the same age as Naoki. As Naoki ate, he sat across from him and shared a lot about Professor Sada and Professor Turo.

For instance, how they are incredibly talented, invented Terastal, and risked their lives to contact Paradox Pokemon.

Naoki listened while recalling the events that happened after he met the two professors.

Putting aside their actions of summoning ancient-future Pokemon to the present for their dreams, they indeed were very good people.

Bucky’s face showed yearning: ”Everyone at the institute admires the professors! That’s why I applied to become the professor’s assistant; I also want to become a great researcher like them in the future!”

Naoki: ”...”

He was just about to say something when suddenly he heard a complaining murmur from behind.

”Really, those Paradox Pokemon are so terrifying, and Professor Sada and Professor Turo still plan to study them and let them live outside the Giant Pit. I’ve heard that many researchers have been attacked and lost their lives. I’m very scared; I can’t die, my wife and daughter are still waiting for me at home.”

Another researcher asked: ”Do you want to quit?”
