Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 365: Chapter 235: Homecoming (4k)

Naoki looked at the Fighting Tera Koraidon in front of him.

Hmm, how should I put this?

Mega Evolution is really cool, and the symbolism is quite nice too.

Z Moves are equally flashy when performed.

Not to mention, Dynamax and Gigantamax have exaggerated visual effects.

But now, with Terastal here, why does it feel a bit pulled down?

Having a crystallized giant fist on top of its head looks imposing, but it always seems like it could affect the battle stance.

With something like that on their head, wouldn’t Pokemon feel top-heavy?

At this moment, Koraidon noticed his gaze and couldn’t help uttering a puzzled growl: ”Ah-ga?”

Naoki smiled and praised, ”Very impressive!”

Having been together for so long, Koraidon has learned to discern some of Naoki’s hidden meanings in his daily words.

For example, right now, only when he’s complimenting someone against his will would he show this kind of smile.

Koraidon felt a bit gloomy: ”Ah-ga...”

The two professors nearby didn’t understand the little gesture between the two. Their attention was entirely focused on Koraidon after Terastal.

Professor Sada began to introduce, ”This is the research achievement we’ve obtained at the institute, Terastal is a capability that all Pokemon can use.”

As she spoke, Professor Sada looked at the Tera Orb in Naoki’s hand: ”After Terastal, the Tera Energy within the Tera Orb depletes, making the Tera Orb unusable.”

Hearing this, Naoki looked down and sure enough, saw that the black Tera Orb had dimmed.

”And then?” he asked.

Professor Turo picked up the conversation: ”We’ve signed an agreement with the Paldea League. In the near future, Tera Energy replenishment devices will be established at Pokemon Centers around the world. If a trainer’s Tera Orb runs out of energy, they can go to a Pokemon Center and ask Joy there to help recharge.”

”However, there’s another method besides this,” Professor Turo asked, ”On the way here, you’ve seen those crystallized growths on the rock walls and ground, right?”

Naoki nodded.

Professor Turo continued, ”As long as you approach those crystals and let the Tera Orb make contact with them, it can also recharge the Tera Orb.”

”But these crystals are rare in the Paldea Region, so most of the time trainers need to go to a Pokemon Center.”

Naoki understood.

The two professors had more research to do. After helping Koraidon with the physical examination, they handed Naoki over to Bucky, who would take Naoki on a tour of the institute, and then hurriedly left.

”Let’s go! I’ll show you around the place!” Bucky grinned and led the way.

Seeing this, Naoki could only symbolically follow behind him to tour the entire institute.

Just like in the game, the Area Zero Research Institute consists of more than one building, divided into different areas.

There are entertainment and dining areas for researchers to rest, an ecological zone for breeding and observing Paradox Pokemon, and a serious research institute.

Bucky took Naoki around, and Naoki saw a bunch of large machines he couldn’t understand.

Finally, Bucky pointed at a very special building, shaped like a hexagonal crystalline tower, and said to Naoki:

”See that? That’s where the Time Machine is located! The power of science is truly amazing, even such things as a Time Machine can be built!”

Hearing this, Naoki looked at that place, thinking: ”That must be where players battle the AI Professor in the game, right?”

Koraidon, following behind him, also looked there, its expression very complex, because it was there...

”Want to take a look inside?” At this moment, Bucky suddenly asked.

Naoki was slightly stunned, ”Can I?”

Bucky grinned, ”Haha, just kidding, that place is the most important place in the entire Area Zero Research Institute. Usually, aside from the professors and a few researchers, even we aren’t allowed in there!”

Naoki: ”...”

Bucky gazed at it with longing, ”It’s that Time Machine bringing ancient and future Pokemon to our world!”

”The Time Machine is always running, more Pokemon will come through it into our world!”

”The professors plan to build a paradise for them, and not only that, they’ve tasked Koraidon and Miraidon with guarding this place, protecting the Time Machine from being destroyed.”

Naoki quietly listened to these words, and hearing this, he suddenly spoke, ”Paradise Guardian Dragon?”

”Huh?” Bucky seemed surprised, after thinking carefully, his eyes lit up, ”That nickname is very suitable for Koraidon and Miraidon!”

Naoki: ”...” Oh well.

The research institute tour came to an end, and after lunch, Naoki began trying to develop Terastalization for Pawmot and Dragonite.

Fortunately, the Tera Energy at Area Zero Research Institute is abundant, so even without approaching those crystals, it can be replenished.

After a series of attempts, he successfully learned the Tera Type of the two Pokemon.

”Pawmot is Electric Tera, Dragonite is Flying Tera, both are their original types...”

”Both Pokemon were previously empowered by food, Lightning Steamed Bun enhanced Pawmot’s electric ability, Hurricane Steamed Bun strengthened Dragonite’s airflow, combined with same-type Tera, after Terastalization they become even stronger.”
