Chapter 356: Chapter 231: The Mysterious Creature Called Roaring Tail (4k)

Naoki had a look of shock on his face, prompting Pawmot beside him to appear puzzled.

It moved closer, wanting to see what was happening over there, but Naoki covered its eyes.

Pawmot asked, confused: ”Paw?”

Naoki shook his head: ”Children shouldn’t look.”

The scene just now seemed to him like the Nergigante in Monster Hunter devouring small herbivorous dinosaurs.

Saying so, Naoki again looked through the telescope toward the opposite hillside.

The figure of Roaring Moon was nowhere in sight; it seemed the hunt was over and the Pokemon had left.

The surroundings returned to a silent calm.

After Roaring Moon had left, the group of Donphan and Phanpy cautiously returned to the large rock where they had been sleeping.

”It seems that Roaring Moon is at the top of the ecological hierarchy in this area,” Naoki murmured.

What’s more intriguing is the feeling that Roaring Moon gave him, completely different from other Pokemon.

Like a primal creature from ancient times, not yet fully awakened, full of wildness and ferocity.

Comparatively, modern Pokemon have evolved to be more complete than Ancient Paradox Pokemon.

Living with humans over the years, they’ve evolved to be more harmonious for coexistence with humans.

Their character differences are as vast as those between ancient wildmen living in dense jungles and modern office workers living in cities.

Not just Roaring Moon, if the setting holds true, other Paradox Pokemon are also far from benevolent.

”Indeed, primordial!”

Suddenly, Naoki lost interest in further observation.

He felt he could no longer view these Paradox Pokemon with the same stereotypes he held for normal Pokemon.

Just then, intense explosions erupted from the deeper valley below.

Snapping out of his thoughts upon hearing the commotion, Naoki quickly ran to the edge of the cliff with a few Pokemon, peering down from the fence.

Amid the blazing light, a group of weak Pokemon was scrambling in panic.

Suddenly, a beam of heat swept across them, igniting nearby trees and grass in an instant, creating flames that blocked the Raichu’s path.

One Raichu raised its head in anger, looking at the sky, electric currents crackling furiously on its cheeks before transforming into a spark shooting upwards.

But it missed.

Naoki moved the telescope.

In the night sky, he saw a mysterious Pokemon radiating fiery light, with red horns on its head, a tail shimmering with silver metallic luster, and three pairs of radiant wings floating behind it.

”Iron Moth... the futuristic form of Volcarona...” Naoki thought of the Pokemon’s name: ”Is it feeding again?”

No, it doesn’t quite look like that!

Like a UFO, the Iron Moth tightly pursued the group of Raichu from above, occasionally using heat beams to force them to move, seemingly trying to herd them somewhere while observing their behavior.

At this point, the Raichu were already driven to the edge of a waterfall.

Iron Moth’s glow intensified, and then its wings fully spread, transforming into a deity of flame, gathering an overpowering heat ray.

As the Raichu watched this scene.

Perhaps, like humans facing crises, they too could unleash unprecedented power.

The Raichu suddenly emitted intense sparks.

Electric Type Energy resonated, storm clouds converging above, and in the next second, a thick lightning bolt struck directly at Iron Moth.

Iron Moth’s attack was interrupted, smoke billowing like a damaged machine, then it plunged into the unfathomable Giant Pit below.

The crisis was averted, and the Raichu panted heavily, not staying for long, quickly running off into the complex terrain and disappearing.

Seeing this, Naoki couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

”Thankfully, these modern Pokemon aren’t entirely defenseless to resist.”

The scene below was witnessed by Pawmot and Dragonite, and seeing their expressions, Naoki seriously warned: ”Did you see? It’s dangerous here, be careful not to run around recklessly.”

”Paw!” Pawmot nodded repeatedly.

Compared to the wild aura of Ancient Paradox Pokemon, these futuristic forms seemed more troublesome.

Because the ancient type’s intentions are easier to guess—the primitive hunting instincts.

Whereas the image of futuristic Pokemon, merging high-tech metal with biological traits, presents a chilling vibe, making it hard to discern their intentions.

”Let’s call it a day. Tomorrow we must continue our journey.”

Naoki no longer wanted to watch, so he packed the telescope and headed back to the observation post.

The next morning, the Paldea Giant Pit regained its holy appearance full of light.

Seeing the breathtaking scene bathed in glow, it was hard to believe that it would transform into a brutal and terrifying hunting ground by night.

Naoki packed up his belongings, slung his travel backpack, and set off again.

By noon, they arrived at a forest covered in colorful crystals.

Looking at the roots completely encased by crystals, Naoki murmured quietly: ”It seems the crystallization of energy has also affected these trees.”
