I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1799: 24.60 Sixth Violet Star - Reason for Betrayal

Long Clan’s Territory. Detached Manor.

The current Marshal, Long Tian, upon realizing that he had almost killed the son of the seniors staying at the clan and how he was almost killed and even affecting his clan showed fear on his face. It was not only surprising but also horror as if he had done something he shouldn’t have. Even the old marshal didn’t expect for his son to do such a thing and flared in anger.

Long Huang hit the back of his son and bellowed, ”You bastard! How can you target a young life! Even if they are from an enemy race, you shouldn’t have done such a thing!”

”Father, it was just instinct. They are too powerful and already beast kings at such a young age. I-I forgot their age when I thought of danger,” said Long Tian.

Long Huang kicked his butt and said, ”Don’t give me excuses!”

”It’s alright. He stopped at the right moment. It’s good that he did. That disciple of mine is overprotective of our son. If your attack had landed then... The Long Clan would have perished~” The World Eater, An Shizhe said with a teasing tone.

However, Long Huang and Long Tian knew that he wasn’t kidding around when he said those words. Clearly, that young cub who can control the darkness was someone so ruthless and vengeful. Exterminating a clan for harming the person he cares the most for is simply seeking death. That’s what Long Tian had tried to do.

The Ancient God of Chaos, Hunluan, had spoken. ”There shouldn’t be anything from the beastmen’s side after this. You can focus on that human child from Pei until the end of the year. Then you can make preparations for the appointment you made with the beastmen race.”

”We will go with you when you send a team with that silly demonic beast from before. It would be better if we can bring Long Juedi with us when the time comes. Don’t worry about his safety. Unless it’s something powerful enough to destroy the world, nothing would affect us,” The World Eater, An Shizhe said.

Hunluan pointed at the old marshal and said, ”You can go as well. Leave your son to supervise this place. You are about to breakthrough to another realm as well and need another beast to reach that stage.”

”But if I leave the house, those enemies will know that I am cured,” Long Huang said.

The World Eater suggested, ”Is it that hard? Spread the news that you are bedridden and sick. That should do the work.”

”It would be better for someone else other than the Long Clan to spread the news. That young one from the Mercenary Tower would do. Tell him that in exchange I will treat his father’s injuries. You do not want to cure that boy’s father don’t you?” Hunluan asked.

Long Tian showed a pissed expression when the man that betrayed his father was mentioned.

”He is a traitor! That old thing!”

”It is true that he had betrayed you. However, you know the reason for it,” the Ancient God of Chaos said.

He narrowed his eyes at the old marshal whose expression turned serious under this question. There is no way for him not to know. After the betrayal of his most trusted aide, he investigates all those who had betrayed him. He realized that most of them had no choice while the others were truly traitors.

”Father, what does this mean? Is there something I don’t know?” The current marshal, Long Tian said.

The current marshal looked uncomfortable with a frown. He didn’t believe that his father had hidden something about this problem. Those who had abandoned them at their lowest, he remembered every single of them. He had never given them a good face since then.

Long Huang looked at his son and said, ”Regardless of reason, the fact that they have betrayed us is real. The trust we have from them before can never return. However... Will I be more understanding? Rationally, I think I should. But... I decided that there is no need to understand them. The choice had been chosen after all.”

”There is only one reason for my aides to suddenly betray me at my lowest. The scum ones are bought with money while the others... Their families are in danger. Faced with a choice between your own family and your boss. Of course, they had chosen the former.”

Long Tian instantly understood his father’s reaction. Forced to choose between the two where only one side would survive, they had all chosen their families and abandoned him. Even though he understood, the feeling of being in mud only to be kicked deeper into it made the old marshal’s heart turn to stone.

The current marshal turned silent at his father’s words. ”...”

The world eater looked bored and leaned to his wife while feeding the latter some fruits.

He commented, ”You were betrayed. Alright you are no longer friends. How come you are not willing to use them anymore? Since you can no longer treat them as friends then treat them as tools. As long as they are useful, as long as you make proper preparation, there is no need to fear being betrayed again. The perks of having a disposable tool doesn’t involve feeling anymore.”

Long Tian knew that Senior An was not a good person. Now hearing his cold hearted words, he felt that his man is a heartless monster. As if sensing the emotions in Long Tian, the world eater sneered.

”I am indeed heartless. My kindness is only for my wife, my son, my disciple and my grandchildren. As for the others, I do not care whether they live or die. It would be better if I didn’t offend you. I am merciless towards my enemies~” said An Shizhe.

The arrogant smirk at the corner of thin lips and his dangerously narrowed eyes staring at them. His eyes were murky with indifference and madness. No one had noticed this kind of danger coming from this senior. Long Tian unconsciously swallowed his saliva in nervousness.

The old marshal on the other hand felt that this suggestion is the most rational of them all.

”Senior An’s words... sounds right. I should just use them for their worth and in exchange I will give them what they want. Senior Hunluan, is there a way to slowly yet fully heal one’s missing limb?” Long Huang asked.

Long Tian felt nervous that even his father was acting this coldly. ”Father!?”

”Shut up. I have decided!” The old marshal said.

The Ancient God of Chaos threw diluted regeneration pills towards the old marshal. ”Eat once every day and a few inches of flesh will grow on its own. After a whole month a limb will be regenerated.”

”Thank you, Seniors!” Long Huang said. ”It’s already getting late. Please excuse us for taking too much of your time.”

”Hm. Inform your youngest about the plan. This is to find the right main beast for him. He needs to be around to get the most compatible one,” said Hunluan.

Long Huang and Long Tian promise to do so before taking their leave. On their way to the mansion. The current marshal was sneaking glances at his father about what happened before. The old marshal noticed his son’s gaze and sighed.

”Speak. What is it that you wanted to say?” The old marshal, Long Huang said.

Long Tian asked, ”Father, were your words before serious?”

”Yes, I am serious,” Long Huang answered.

The current marshal couldn’t accept his father’s response and said, ”Father, Uncle Mu had been your aide for a long time. Just one mistake you are not willing to forgive him?!”

”This one mistake has almost ruined your life, your brothers and your descendants! You want me to forgive him!? No way in hell!”

”I’ve left your safety with him and when I returned crippled he threatened me with your lives! This is all just to force me to abdicate!”

”Do you know how I feel when he uses the beasts I gave to him to threaten your lives?! I feel too sick! I gave him a powerful beast because I thought I could trust him with your lives. What the hell did he do!?”

The words of his father made Long Tian speechless. He never knew the details of how Uncle Mu and others betrayed them. He thought they only sided with the opposite faction to force father to abdicate, but who would have thought that their lives were in danger.

Long Tian said, ”Father, I...”

”You now know. Stop acting like you are willing to forgive them as there is now relationship between us that can be repaired!” Long Huang said as he walk ahead in rage.

They were near the mansion when the Old marshal lost it. Long Tian stood outside in shock until his brother, Long Kian come out from behind the pillar and pats his shoulder.

Long Kian said, ”Father’s temper, you already know. Don’t make the fire bigger.”

”Brother, that wasn’t my intention at all,” said Long Tian.

Sigh~

”I know. However, you need to accept the fact that the original relationship between the Long and the Mu Clan is no more. Now you know why Mu Patriarch felt awkward when you treated him amiably.”

”He had long accepted that the old man would not forgive him and here you are still treating a good uncle when he betrayed us. He felt embarrassed coming to the meeting because of this reason,” Long Kian said.

The current marshal grips his hand with strong emotions and said, ”I understand everything now. I know what to do next, brother.”
