I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1766: 24.27 Sixth Violet Star - Letter

Marshal’s Palace

A guest from the Mercenary Tower, the Tower Master himself, Mu Liao, had come to visit the Long Clan. He had used the two young masters of the Long Clan, Long Juedi and Long Teng, as an excuse to see the elders of the Long Clan, especially the Old Marshal. It can be said that before the Mercenary Tower was created, Mu Liao’s father was a beast master under the Old Marshal. Because of the last battle against the beastmen and losing badly, he was forced to abdicate as this failure caused a half of his soldiers losing or dying under the fist of the beastmen race.

A lot of the beast masters at that time had suffered a lot even after surviving the ordeal of life and death. They ended up like the old marshal, crippled or losing a few parts of their body. That’s why My Liao was surprised to see the old marshal no longer crippled. It can be said that among the beast masters that had survived that day, the one within worse state was the old marshal whose both legs were personally crippled by the leader of the beastmen race, Huzi.

Huzi is a rare mythical beast man of the fox race. He is a nine-tailed fox who is well-known for his strength in controlling ice and seduction. It can be said that he is also the most beautiful beastman in existence due to his ancient bloodline of a Nine-tailed fox who was said to possessed divinity and considered gods among the foxes.

That’s why at that time, when the beastmen race declared war against the human race, the old marshal immediately ordered a retreat. However, despite that order half of them were still purged. The old marshal knew that the beastman called Huzi had given them mercy. After all, it wasn’t hard for him to exterminate them all. They were left alive as a warning to the human race.

That’s why when Tower Master Mu Liao saw the old marshal state he instantly realized that the Long Clan had found a way to cure one’s wounds and injuries. If it’s in the past, the Mu Jia wouldn’t have to use the descendants of the Long Jia to meet the elders. But because of the people aht had forced the old marshal to abdicate was his father, the Mu Clan and Long Clan lost their original relationship as vassal and master. Becoming a stranger is closer to becoming an enemy instead of a good neighbor.

That’s why to gain the old marshal’s favor, Mu Liao had told them everything about the two mercenaries that had accepted Long Juedi’s mission and accomplished it just within one night. The more the people of the Long Clan hear information about the two men, the more their expression turns serious yet mixed with disbelief.

Long Kian said, ”Getting a beast egg from the ancient forest just overnight? Impossible! It’s more believable that the egg was bought somewhere else for a high prince just to make contact with our clan!”

”I thought so too... However, it is not possible. I’ve already checked with the auction houses and all hidden facilities. No one owns that egg. Moreover, such a beast egg with rare ability, it would have been used as a main attraction anywhere. But that couple gave it away without care. When I said I wanted to check the egg, they gave it away without hesitation even treating it as a common toy for children. They never cared about that egg,” said Tower Master Mu Liao.

The current marshal, Long Tian, said, ”It was intentional. The one they wanted to meet was Long Jia and not my son. Giving him a powerful support beast egg was to gain our favor. What do you think, father? It’s not a surprise that a beast egg will be used as a favor after all it was well-known that we had cancelled Jue’er’s hatching ceremony before.”

”However, why offer a support beast egg rather than a main beast egg?” Mumbled the old marshal. ”Intentionally gave support type beast eggs or...”

If it was before it wouldn’t be surprising that one wouldn’t gift a beast egg for a main beast as usually only the elders of the family can prepare those kinds of beast and this is to match their family line of beast. LIke an inheritance. However, it is different nowadays. In this era where beast eggs are extremely sparse, even a normal ranked egg can be used as a main beast as there is no other choice.

Moreover, those two high ranked beasts living in their place promised to give Long Juedi the most suitable beast egg as his main. It just won’t happen this year as the beastman cub among the two is still unable to come out with its weak state. A year is needed for his bone to gain strength.

However, what the Long Clan didn’t know was that this was just an excuse so these mortals wouldn’t think that the two of them are heavenly-defying. They didn’t want to be treated as a god as like the God of Destruction and the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness, they aren’t on anyone’s side.

No one was able to answer the old marshal’s question and instead asked, ”Is there something else?”

”Yes. There should be a letter. Though I do not think it was addressed to the old marshal,” said Tower Master, Mu Liao.

The old marshal and the people of the house said, ”A letter?”

”Where is it?” The current marshal, Long Tian asked.

Tower Master Mu Liao replied, ”The letter should be with your son.”

Everyone’s eyes looked for the figure of Long Juedi and saw the two young masters checking on the gorgeous egg in Long Juedi’s embrace.

Long Teng said, ”What kind of beast possessed healing powers and size this small.” They were told that this egg is already at its hatching state and the size of the beast might not be as large as a human head.

Confused, Long Juedi said, ”Maybe a mouse? Mice are small.”

”Ordinary mice are indeed small. But I don’t think a beast type mouse would be smaller than your head,” said Long Teng.

All of a sudden they noticed their elders all looking at them. Because they are seated on the carpet and the adults are all standing, they looked like they were being looked down upon by giants and making the two children flinch.

Long Teng cursed in surprise, ”What the he–!!” His mouth was covered by his younger brother and he also held back his words when he saw their elders glaring at him.

The old marshal, Long Huang asked, ”Jue’er, was there a letter given to you by the ones who gave you that beast egg?”

”Letter? Was there something like that?”

asked Long Teng.
At that time he was so focused on the gorgeous looking egg and didn’t notice the letter the two wardens had given to Long Juedi.

”Dad? (Grandpa?)”

The two were calling different dads but the same grandfather.

Long Juedi recalled something like that. He gave his egg to his brother to hold and pat his clothes. He remembers putting it somewhere in his clothes before leaving the mercenary tower. He felt some kind of paper in his pocket. Unexpectedly, when the letter was pulled out from his pocket it wasn’t crumpled by the little space his small pocket had. But he didn’t think about such a weird phenomenon and gave the letter to his grandfather.

He said, ”Here it is, Grandpa. But that uncle didn’t say to whom I should give it to. Grandpa can have it instead.”

After the young ones had passed the letters to the adults, they no longer looked at them and waited for the egg to hatch. As for the old marshal who received the letter, he felt something strange about it. This letter gave him the feeling that they wouldn’t be able to read it at all.

As expected, the moment he opened the letter an unknown language was written on it. To avoid mortals from being able to read the letter, the two wardens and two systems decided to write it using ancient language only gods can read and understand.

Long Kian was the one who commented first upon seeing the weird letter. He mumbles, ”What kind of language is this?”

”Father, can you read it?” asked Long Tian.

The old marshal shook his head and frowned. ”This is the first time I saw this kind of language.”

”For some reason, I feel like I saw a script similar to this. Where did I see it again?” murmured the Tower Master, Mu Liao.

Long Tian said, ”Are you sure you saw it somewhere? Not imagining things again.”

”Nonsense! Unlike you, I love reading books. I just don’t remember where I saw it. I need to check the places where I read the books before,” said Mu Liao. ”Old Marshal, can I borrow that letter?”

The old marshal thought of something to hide the letter. ”There is no need. I think I know the right one to ask about it. If even they couldn’t read this thing then I will give it to you.”

The tower master wanted to ask who it was, but he knew that the relationship between the two families is no longer the same as before, He can only leave the Long Clan’s Palace after receiving the promise to summon them once the healer agrees to cure his father.
