The atmosphere was tranquil beside the lake. Under the night sky, the wind breezed through the woman’s silky hair as she closed her eyes while feeling joyful.

Suddenly, she frowned with displeasure and lowered her head to have a look at her Battlefield Imprint. She wondered which fool had the guts to disturb her at this point. Soon, her expression changed.

“What happened?” asked the man impassively while fishing.

The woman glanced at him and reported cautiously, “My Lord, Lu Yi Ye has brought a law enforcement team to the Chen Family of Mount Mi. The Patriarch Chen Tianchui has enlightened him.”

The fishing rod in the Lord’s hand broke apart with a crack as he looked angrily at the woman. “How dare he!”

Although he didn’t raise his voice, his expression was ferocious. The woman quickly fell to one knee. “Please don’t be mad, my Lord.”

“He’s so useless!” The Lord was mad at Chen Tianchui for what the latter had done. “Has Lu Yi Ye been enlightened?”

Over the past decades, he had been devising a plan that could change the status quo in Jiu Zhou.

For this important plan, he had to look for a special person. Unfortunately, he hadn’t found a suitable candidate over the years. It wasn’t until Lu Yi Ye of the Crimson Blood Sect rose to prominence.

This made him realise that Lu Ye was the person he had been waiting for. That was why he gave an order that when his subordinates came across Lu Ye, they had to befriend him at all costs. However, his order clearly stated that they should befriend, not enlighten him.

That was because once Lu Ye was enlightened, he would lose his value even though he would never disobey their orders.

“I think so…” the woman replied cautiously. “For some reason, Lu Yi Ye has detected the anomaly, so he’s ready to leave the Chen Residence.”

“Has he detected the anomaly?” The Lord was surprised. “How is he able to do that?”

The move he had left behind could only be detected by Divine Ocean Realm Masters. Moreover, as far as he was concerned, Lu Ye had just ascended to the Fifth-Order Real Lake Realm. [How is he capable of doing that?]

“Chen Tianchui can’t figure it out either. He’s sent me a message asking how to deal with the matter.”

After a moment of silence, the Lord said, “The Chen Family is no longer useful.”

The woman felt cold all of a sudden. She knew that the Lord’s words could make a Tier-Six family like the Chen Family disappear from Jiu Zhou. No one knew better than she did how capable the Lord was.

“Tell them to spare Lu Yi Ye’s life and kill the rest.” The Lord soon made a decision and rose to his feet. “Also, you should head to Foggy Cliff. We have to execute the plan earlier than expected.”

Initially, the plan would only be carried out at a later time, but following what the Chen Family had done, it would certainly catch the attention of those from the Grand Sky Coalition. By then, many Divine Ocean Realm Masters would go over and look into the matter. Naturally, they would be reluctant to plunge into the fog, and it wasn’t likely that the secret at the bottom of Foggy Cliff would be exposed. Still, the Lord had to be cautious. He had to execute the plan sooner so that nothing would go wrong.

No success was guaranteed in this world. He had spent decades devising the plan and left behind many moves while controlling everything behind the scenes. He had the confidence that the outcome wouldn’t change even though he had to carry out the plan sooner.

“Yes,” the woman replied and shot into the sky. She was soon out of sight.

The Lord remained in the same spot and gave it some thought for a moment before flying in a different direction. He looked into the distance with a dark gaze. Despite the long distance, he seemed able to see a familiar face as he muttered, “You’d better not get in my way!”

A glint flashed across his gaze, which seemed as sharp as a blade.

In the reception hall of the Chen Residence of Mount Mi, Lu Ye felt some pressure following a buzz. Although the pressure soon disappeared, he realised what was going on.

“Aerial Lock Ward!” There was an Aerial Lock Ward in this place. Besides that, after the Ward was activated, a translucent light screen rose and covered a large area.

“Trap Ward!” All of them were shocked.

Lu Ye donned a serious expression and infused his Spiritual Power into his eyes. With the help of the Moonlight, he could see many figures outside the Trap Ward. The person at the head was none other than the Chen Family’s Great Elder, Chen Lie, who was still hospitable to them earlier.

As their eyes met, Lu Ye growled, “Is the Chen Family trying to go against the Ministry of Laws?”

This was something he couldn’t figure out. Chen Lie enthusiastically invited them to the Chen Residence. However, not only did he put some things into the tea, but he also confined them to this place using a Trap Ward after his wrongdoing was exposed.

Lu Ye couldn’t understand why this happened or what the Chen Family was up to. There were no feuds between the two parties, so the Chen Family didn’t have a reason to do such a thing.

[Is the Chen Family from Thousand Demon Ridge?] That was the only possibility Lu Ye could think of.

Those from Thousand Demon Ridge were resentful of him and eager to get rid of him for good. That was what they had been doing, but they had never succeeded.

An unsuspecting Lu Ye had entered the Chen Residence this time. There was no doubt it was a good chance.

Nevertheless, even if the Chen Family could kill the six of them, there would no longer be a place for them in Bing Zhou. Would it be worth it for a Tier-Six family to do such a thing?

While growling, Lu Ye made a gesture with his hand behind his back.

Lin Yinxiu moved slightly, ready to use Lu Ye’s body as a cover-up and send a message.

Regardless of the reason that the Chen Family was doing such a thing, the situation was perilous for Lu Ye and the others. As such, they had to quickly ask for help.

But as soon as Lin Yinxiu made a move, Chen Lie ordered, “Kill them!”

Naturally, he wouldn’t let them have a chance to contact anyone. Otherwise, nearby Divine Ocean Realm Masters would come over to help out. By then, the Chen Family would be destroyed.

While giving the order, he was paying attention to Lu Ye’s reaction. He felt that Lu Ye must’ve been enlightened, so the latter was part of them. The move left behind by the Lord had never failed to achieve the desired result. Although Lu Ye was famously powerful, he couldn’t resist the move as long as he wasn’t a Divine Ocean Realm Master.

Following the order, many telekinetic weapons and spells turned into rays of light and charged towards the reception hall.

Ju Jia bellowed and leapt to the front. As his vitality burned, his figure seemed to have expanded. He fully activated his Spiritual Power and pressed his hand against the Void. With his palm as the source, a protective barrier shaped like a turtle shell was formed to protect the people behind him.

The telekinetic weapons and spells continuously struck the protective barrier, which was originally bright. It soon turned dim and came apart.

There was no doubt Ju Jia’s protective barrier was sturdy, but it still couldn’t hold on for long when attacked by the cultivators of the Chen Family.

Lu Ye and the others made a move at the same time. In an instant, weapon lights crisscrossed one another and Spiritual Powers were in chaos.

Just then, somewhere in the crowd, Chen Tianchui stared fixedly at Lu Ye in the reception hall while feeling cold all over his heart.

The move was useless as Lu Ye wasn’t enlightened.

Initially, Chen Lie thought that Lu Ye had been enlightened, and Chen Tianchui shared the same sentiment. After all, they had seen Lu Ye drinking the tea.

Once the tea was consumed, one would inevitably be enlightened.

But now, Chen Tianchui could confirm that it never happened to Lu Ye. He had used the move left behind by the Lord, but he couldn’t feel any resonation coming from Lu Ye.

Presently, he appeared furious as a silver bug as thin as a thread was moving around his eyes, which was a strange sight.

If Lu Ye had been enlightened, he could have used this move to make Lu Ye betray his companions. When that happened, those five people would be caught off guard. Coupled with the Chen Family’s attacks, they could easily kill these five people.

By then, the crisis would be solved. As for how to deal with the mess and explain to the Ministry of Laws why the five people were dead, there would be a solution.

However, he couldn’t make Lu Ye do anything, and he had seen Lin Yinxiu sending a message. Instantly, he knew that regardless of what happened to Lu Ye and the others, the Chen Family would be doomed.

“Kill them all!” Chen Tianchui ordered while feeling flustered.

Since the Chen Family would be destroyed, he had to bring these people to Hell as well.

Following the order, the cultivators marched forward in front of the reception hall.

Whooshes were heard as Li Baxian cast his flying swords. The cultivators at the head fell to the ground after getting attacked, but Li Baxian frowned at that.

That was because most of these cultivators were in the Spirit Creek Realm and Cloud River Realm, so he could easily kill them.

Anyway, it wasn’t the right time for him to show any sympathy. Although he was reluctant to kill them, he never stopped attacking them. The Sword Lights flew around and ended these cultivators’ lives as their shrieks were continuously heard.

While Li Baxian appeared mighty, Feng Yuechan could also easily kill these opponents every time she cast her spells.

However, the Chen Family had gone all out this time. Even more cultivators were coming over from a particular direction to join the battle.

There was no doubt the Chen Family’s Sanctum of Providence was located in that direction. Those cultivators who stayed on the Spirit Creek Battlefield and Cloud River Battlefield were returning in a hurry upon receiving the order.

In fewer than ten breaths of time, the corpses piled up in front of the reception hall as blood dyed the ground red.

Presently, Lu Ye and the others were in a difficult battle.

The Chen Family was only a Tier-Six family, so they didn’t have many Real Lake Realm Masters. Apart from those who were elsewhere, there were fewer than ten Real Lake Realm Masters in the Chen Residence. Spirit Creek Realm Masters and Cloud River Realm Masters couldn’t even fend off one move from Lu Ye and the others. However, Real Lake Realm Masters were different. They were fairly powerful, after all. Lu Ye could kill one to two of them, but he couldn’t destroy all of them in a short time.

The members of Team D9 stepped backwards while contending with the enemies. Soon, they were at the entrance of the reception hall.

They couldn’t keep on retreating. If they entered the reception hall, they wouldn’t be able to fully activate their powers in such a small space. They would be trapped if the Chen Family cultivators besieged them, and they would be in a worse situation.

In just 30 breaths of time, all six of them were injured. Although it was nothing serious, it had affected their use of powers.

Looking at the crowd in front of him, Lu Ye took a deep breath and extended his hand into the Void. The next instant, a ball the size of a baby’s skull appeared in his hand.

Chen Lie’s pupils dilated when he saw that. Suddenly, a sense of unease washed over him.

“Stop him!” he bellowed and pounced on Lu Ye.
