“Where are those people?” Lu Ye asked.

Lin Yinxiu was responsible for keeping an eye on the captives. Since she was there instead of watching over the criminals, they might run away.

She smiled confidently. “Don’t worry. The Nightingale is monitoring them. They can’t flee.”

The three of them then returned in a hurry. Upon their arrival, Lu Ye finally realised why Lin Yinxiu was confident.

In the Spirit Boat, the five criminals were restrained by the treasure that looked like a net. Besides that, they were surrounded by Explosive Fire Spirit Stones. A sweaty Nightingale was holding an Explosive Talisman Papart and looking vigilantly at them.

It was as though he was ready to activate the Explosive Talisman Paper at any moment and send them to Hell if they dared to move a muscle.

In such a situation, no one had the guts to run away. They obediently remained unmoving in the same spot.

Although the Nightingale had been bribed by the Zhou Family as he failed to deliver up-to-date information, he worked for the Ministry of Laws, after all. His wrongdoing had been exposed by Lu Ye, and he needed a chance to make up for it. Since Lin Yinxiu had given him the chance, he naturally wouldn’t miss it.

It wasn’t until Lu Ye and the others returned that the Nightingale was relieved.

Lin Yinxiu went over to retrieve the Explosive Fire Spirit Stones and her net.

Lu Ye tossed Zhou Wang into the boat and waited patiently.

Those from the Zhou Family were efficient. Not long after their return, Zhou Ze came over with a Medical Cultivator in a hurry.

While the Medical Cultivator treated Zhou Wang’s injury, Zhou Ze cupped his fists to Lu Ye. “Cultivator Niu, we’re at fault this time, and we’re sorry. I hope you’ll understand that we just wanted to protect a family member.”

“I understand that, of course,” Lu Ye replied impassively. “I hope you’ll also understand that it’s not easy for us to carry out our duty.”

They had captured Zhou Wang. Although the process wasn’t merry, Lu Ye wouldn’t want to be relentless when the other party had yielded.

He was only there to complete his task.

Zhou Ze nodded repeatedly. “I understand that.” He then looked around and whispered, “I have another request I hope you’ll agree to.”

“Tell me about it.”

“The things we’ve given you today… I hope you won’t report it to your leader. If word gets out, it’ll do both of us no good.”

“What are you talking about?”

If word got out that the Zhou Family members had bribed the law enforcers, their reputation would be tarnished, but it would also be terrible news for the law enforcers who had been there to carry out their tasks.

If an investigation was launched, the law enforcers who had come to look into the Zhou Family’s case would be affected as well.

Since Lu Ye worked for the Ministry of Laws now, everything he did would be offensive. However, he wasn’t willing to offend his colleagues for no reason, so he wasn’t going to report the incident to his leader.

Moreover, was Qian Wudang truly unaware of it? He might already know it and have chosen to turn a blind eye to it.

Since the Commander never punished anyone, Lu Ye wasn’t in any place to interfere in this matter.

Upon hearing Lu Ye’s words, Zhou Ze ran his fingers through his beard and smiled. “I’m sorry, Cultivator Niu. I must be mistaken.”

As they spoke, the Medical Cultivator was done treating Zhou Wang’s injury. Although he looked battered, he wasn’t badly injured. As such, it wasn’t difficult to treat his injury.

“Cultivator Niu, please take care of this useless disciple of our family while heading to Grand Sky City. I’ll thank you for that.”

“I’m only responsible for sending him to Grand Sky City. As long as he doesn’t do anything silly, I won’t harm him.”

“Don’t worry. He’ll behave himself.”

Lu Ye nodded and turned to look at the guilty Nightingale with a solemn expression. “You’ll go to Grand Sky City and be punished for your wrongdoing.”

The Nightingale was relieved. “Yes.”

Then, he summoned his Flight-Type Artifact and left hurriedly. He was indeed heading in the Grand Sky City’s direction.

“Farewell!” Lu Ye turned around and cupped his fists at Zhou Ze. Then, he boarded the Spirit Boat, which turned into a ray of light and shot into the distance.

After they were gone, Zhou Ze whirled around and flew towards Dingtian City. When he returned to the Zhou Residence, he met the current patriarch of the Zhou Family, Zhou Dingtian, in a forbidden area.

Dingtian City was named after him.

The forbidden area was where Lu Ye had felt the Divine Ocean Realm Master’s aura. It was also where Zhou Dingtian cultivated his power.

“They’re gone, Patriarch,” Zhou Ze reported.

Zhou Dingtian sighed. “It’s unavoidable.”

“If you were not willing to see Young Master Zhou Wang go, why did you let them leave?”

“So what if I weren’t willing to see Zhou Wang go? Could I make them stay?” Zhou Dingtian shook his head. “If they were average Real Lake Realm Masters, I naturally wouldn’t have any regard for them. However, they have the Ministry of Laws behind them. You shouldn’t even have tried to stop them. If I had made a move, things would’ve escalated quickly. Moreover, if I’m not mistaken, the brat surnamed Niu is the rising Star from the Crimson Blood Sect.”

“The Crimson Blood Sect?” Zhou Ze was shocked, but he soon came to his senses. “Are you talking about Lu Yi Ye? Why do you think so?”

Zhou Dingtian replied, “The Four Sacred Beasts!”

Lu Yi Ye of the Crimson Blood Sect had been on the rise in recent years. He was a menace to Thousand Demon Ridge on both the Spirit Creek Battlefield and the Cloud River Battlefield. Naturally, many people had been keeping tabs on him.

Zhou Dingtian was one of them.

The moment the Fire Phoenix was cast, Zhou Dingtian could confirm that the young man was Lu Ye. That was because he had received a piece of information regarding what Lu Ye had done in the Carnage Colosseum.

Lu Ye had used the Fire Phoenix while he was there.

As Zhou Dingtian recalled the information, he realised that Niu Meng was Lu Ye. If he never realised that, all the years he had lived would have been for nothing.

“Tang Yi Feng has made a comeback as he’s a member of the Elder Council. I’m sure you’ve heard of what he’s like. If I made things difficult for Lu Ye, he’d storm into our place the next day.”

Zhou Ze’s forehead was beaded with sweat as he appeared terrified. Fortunately, he had ordered the cultivators to only surround but not harm Lu Ye, considering that the latter was from the Ministry of Laws. If they had hurt Lu Ye, they would’ve offended Tang Yi Feng, and it would’ve been troublesome for them.

“But what about Young Master Zhou Wang?”

Zhou Dingtian sighed. “Send a message to Zhou Kui and tell him to help out. Zhou Wang can’t possibly be spared any punishment, but we have to ensure that he’ll stay alive at the very least.”

“Yes.”

…

“Junior Brother, are we going to Mount Ao?” In the Spirit Boat, Xiao Xinghe took a look at the ten-point map and discovered that they were heading to Mount Ao instead of Grand Sky City.

“It happens to be in the same direction. Also, I need to go back to the Sect and attend to some matters.”

“That’s great. I haven’t seen the Second Senior Sister in a long time.” Xiao Xinghe nodded. Suddenly recalling something, he fished out two Storage Bags from his clothes. “What about these things?”

Zhou Ze had given them the two Storage Bags which contained many valuable items.

“Just keep them for your cultivation use, Senior Brother. I don’t lack cultivation resources, and neither does Yinxiu.”

With Qian Wudang behind her, Lin Yinxiu would never run out of cultivation resources.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea. Didn’t you say…” Xiao Xinghe appeared hesitant.

“I was just saying. It’s not like we seriously can report the incident to the Commander.”

Xiao Xinghe was speechless at that. Previously, Lu Ye barged into the Zhou Residence and made a ferocious move. The Zhou Family members watched as he captured Zhou Wang. This made Xiao Xinghe think that Lu Ye was a righteous and upright person. Now, it seemed that he wasn’t so inflexible.

At the thought of this, Xiao Xinghe was relieved.

“Thank you for these, then.” He laughed and kept the Storage Bags.

Although Mount Ao was indeed in the same direction as Grand Sky City, they still had to make a detour to go there.

When it was noon the next day, they finally arrived at Mount Ao. They still had to move forward for a long time before reaching the Summit of Fortitude.

Despite how vast the place was, it was void of people.

Although the Crimson Blood Sect had many disciples, they were still new cultivators. As such, they were either cultivating their powers on the Spirit Creek Battlefield or the Cloud River Battlefield. That was the reason the main Sect was tranquil.

It was unlike other Sects. They had many disciples in both the main Sects and the two major Battlefields.

But soon, a familiar figure came into sight. She was none other than Shui Yuan, who had noticed their arrival.

When she made out the faces of Lu Ye and Xiao Xinghe, she put on a bright smile.

After they landed, Lu Ye leapt off the boat and said, “Second Senior Sister.”

Shui Yuan nodded and turned to look at Xiao Xinghe, who took a deep breath to suppress his excitement. Then, he flashed a smile at Shui Yuan and said, “I’m back, Second Senior Sister.”

Shui Yuan’s eyes were teary as she placed a hand on Xiao Xinghe’s shoulder. Due to the difference in their heights, she had to stand on her toes.

Just as Lu Ye thought he would witness a happy reunion, Shui Yuan suddenly pinched Xiao Xinghe’s ear and twisted it. Then, she said through clenched teeth, “You’re finally back, huh? I haven’t seen you in a few years. I thought you were dead!”

Xiao Xinghe hunched his back and gasped in pain before pleading, “Ouch! It hurts! Help me, Little Junior Brother!”

Lu Ye stepped backwards and quickly said, “I’ll look for my Honoured Master now.”

He decided to leave right away.

In the Spirit Boat, when Zhou Wang and the others detected the aura of Shui Yuan, a Divine Ocean Realm Master, they trembled uncontrollably.

On the other hand, Lin Yinxiu looked at the two of them with a smile as she had never witnessed anything like this before.

When Lu Ye arrived at the Summit of Clarity, he didn’t see Yun Xuechu. Only her Soul Clone, Tiea, was there.

Certainly, since Tiea was a Soul Clone, she was equivalent to Yun Xuechu.

According to her, Yun Xuechu was inspired when repairing the Dragon Throne. After Tang Yi Feng left the place with the Dragon Throne, she went on a retreat to comprehend the inspirations.

In that case, Lu Ye naturally couldn’t disturb her. Yun Xuechu needed to divert her attention to talk to him through her Soul Clone.

After receiving some guidance, Lu Ye left the Summit of Clarity.

Just as he was ready to return to the Summit of Fortitude, he received a message on his Battlefield Imprint. He took a look and discovered it was from Yi Yi.

When he headed to the Summit of Clarity, Yi Yi and Amber parted ways with him and went to the Summit of Bamboos, which was Lu Ye’s place. Since he rarely came back to that place, Yi Yi would clean it up every time they returned.

‘Come here quickly, Lu Ye. There seems to be someone here.’

‘Huh?’ Lu Ye was shocked. They were in the Crimson Blood Sect, and the Summit of Bamboos belonged to him. Besides that, Shui Yuan was in charge of this place all year round. Who could be allowed to go to the Summit of Bamboos?
