Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Amidst everyone’s gaze, the nuclear missile carrying humanity’s last hope traced an arc across the sky, then descended as if from the heavens, fiercely slamming onto the top of the Number One assault ship.

In an instant, a dazzling blue flash flared up from above the Number One assault ship!

The entire sky trembled and twisted!

The ground below was also affected by a terrifying power, leading to a violent quake.

Even space began to crack and roar violently in that moment!

An almost blinding light suddenly illuminated the sky and earth, engulfing everything.

The blast’s brilliance was more dazzling than ten thousand suns!

The temperature soared to an extreme in an instant, becoming scaldingly hot!

In the sky and in the air, everything illuminated by the light vaporized instantly.

The Number One assault ship was thoroughly engulfed by the massive fireball produced by the 25-million-ton nuclear explosion.

...

Inside the command room.

Admiral Douglas was staring seriously at the screen.

With humanity at its most perilous moment, upon receiving orders from above, he immediately activated the missile silo, launching Earth’s most powerful existing nuclear weapon in an attempt to obliterate the alien’s Cosmic Battleship.

Although this might lead to the disappearance of the world’s financial capital, New York, in the explosion, not taking action could result in the extermination of the Earth’s eight billion people by the aliens. Old Ugly had no choice but to resort to near self-destructive measures in a life-and-death struggle with the extraterrestrials.

Admiral Douglas was not alone in the command room. Many high-ranking officers also watched the screen intently with serious expressions.

To be honest, they feared that the alien Cosmic Battleship might have some ”teleportation” ability, allowing it to dodge this immensely powerful missile.

Fortunately, the surveillance footage showed the nuclear missile hitting the top of the Cosmic Battleship with pinpoint accuracy.

As the missile struck, the sky above the Number One assault ship turned chaotic, with thunder and lightning.

A blinding light that seemed capable of piercing eyes even through the screen, brightened the entire world in an instant.

The world changed colors because of it!

Right after that, a deafening ”boom” erupted suddenly.

Accompanied by this tremendous noise, a terrifying gale picked up.

Earth and sky began to shudder violently.

All of this happened in an instant.

If someone were to look out from a high place toward the assault ship’s top at this moment, they’d have seen something resembling clouds, interspersed with small explosions that rolled and surged in a crescendo, speeding upward into the higher altitudes.

Mushroom clouds raged across the sky, with flames everywhere, enveloped in dust and smoke.

Thick smoke billowed, mixed with blue flames, obscuring everyone’s vision and blinding various monitoring instruments.

An odor of burning rushed down from high above, so those in New York City below, upon taking a breath, inhaled a burning hot taste, as if it would sear their insides.

The tremendous commotion made many instinctively think an asteroid had struck Earth.

Shockwaves swept outward in all directions, crushing everything within range.

This was the scene displayed on the screen.

The entire command room erupted in huge cheers.

”Oh, God!”

”Oh, my God! Finally hit that Cosmic Battleship!”

”Haha, it’s a 25-million-ton nuclear explosion, generating instantaneous temperatures of tens of millions of degrees, it could melt an entire Cosmic Battleship made of solid steel, this time, the alien battleship must be destroyed!”

”Yes, the aliens are doomed!”

”Turns out we have means to counter the aliens!”

”Earth doesn’t rely solely on Ancestor for salvation, nuclear weapons can too!”

The senior officers, initially stoic, were now too excited to restrain themselves, loudly celebrating the nuclear triumph of destroying the Cosmic Battleship and safeguarding humanity.

Some senior officers even believed that as long as humans possess nuclear weapons, any powerful alien daring to invade Earth would be annihilated by the mighty force of nuclear fission or fusion.

Therefore, whether Ancestor would intervene to deal with the aliens was not important at all.

The important thing was that it refrains from launching attacks on Earth.

Yes, everyone knew that Ancestor possessed terrifying defenses capable of withstanding nuclear blasts.

They were basking in the festive mood.

Suddenly, new images appeared on the screen.

The cheers of celebration abruptly halted as if a pause button had been pressed on a radio!

Douglas and a group of high-ranking officers were utterly shocked to find that, as the smoke and flames gradually dispersed on the screen, a gigantic shadow remained motionless, suspended in the high sky!

A faint white glow flickered around this gigantic shadow.

Although they didn’t know the purpose of this faint white glow, their eyes saw the state of the Cosmic Battleship—it was intact!

What?

A 25-million-ton nuclear explosion couldn’t destroy the alien Cosmic Battleship?

No, it’s not just that it couldn’t destroy it.

Douglas and the high-ranking officers all saw on the screen that the Cosmic Battleship was...completely unscathed!
