Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

To be honest, as things have progressed to this point, those netizens who previously doubted the Ancestors have now completely believed that everything said by the Ancestors at the press conference was true.

Unfortunately, most people are unwilling to admit their own mistakes, so these netizens are still stubbornly denying it.

”I believe it’s possible that the Ancestors saved the world from a gamma-ray burst previously, but even if he doesn’t take action this time, humanity might not necessarily perish.”

”Exactly! These cosmic battleships are just hovering in the sky, not too far from the ground. If countries use nuclear weapons to attack, maybe they can blow them open.”

”Everyone, don’t worry. The countries didn’t react in time initially, so they couldn’t counterattack. Now that so much time has passed, they must have responded by now, and soon various fighter jets, bombers, and even intercontinental missiles will be launched. We’ll be fine.”

”No matter how powerful the aliens are, they can’t withstand the power of nuclear weapons!”

These netizens, though reluctant to admit it, use the word ”possibly” to cover up the fact that they actually believe in the Ancestors saving the world.

But being stubborn is a human instinct. They are still hoping that Earth’s technology can destroy the cosmic battleships in the sky, rather than relying solely on the Ancestors.

Indeed, anyone from Earth knows how powerful nuclear weapons are.

Although the aliens’ energy attacks just now were indeed more ferocious than nuclear weapons, the ferocity of your weapons is one thing, but whether my ”primitive weapons” can destroy your battleships is another.

For instance, you can easily slaughter primitives with a rifle.

But if a primitive’s spear can pierce you, wouldn’t you also be killed instantly?

The same logic applies: alien firepower is very strong, but that doesn’t mean the defenses of cosmic battleships can withstand nuclear weapons.

This is the last stubbornness of those tough-talking netizens!

The reason is that they know once humanity truly has to rely on the Ancestors for survival, they will forever live under the other’s dictatorial rule.

Therefore, even when aliens have come knocking, these people still long for ”freedom,” unwilling to admit the Ancestors as the only savior!

The phrase ”not crying until seeing the coffin” precisely describes these stubborn netizens.

The unfortunate thing is, they are about to see the coffin being brought in!

...

Admiral Carona is the commander of this Spiritual Race’s invasion of Earth.

The attack ship he is on is hovering above Old Ugly New York, not in a hurry to attack, but rather staying to coordinate.

He plans to launch the giant cannon on New York after the other nine attack ships have finished their attacks. After all, he is the commander.

The attack ship received signals showing the situation over in Australia.

Instantly, the attack ship’s interior, filled with forty to fifty thousand warriors and technicians, broke into cheers.

”Haha!”

”The giant cannon worked!”

”I said this low-civilization race couldn’t withstand the power of the giant cannon, yet you were all worried initially.”

”What we were worried about wasn’t the low civilization’s tech level; it was that ’monster’ able to withstand the gamma-ray burst!”

”Exactly, without that ’monster,’ we could easily annihilate such a low-civilization race with our technological prowess. Who’s worried about them resisting the giant cannon’s power?”

”The Tenth Attack Ship succeeded, and once the others succeed as well, we can also fire the giant cannon, sending the planet into panic, allowing our small battleships and hundreds of thousands of elite warriors to carry out the slaughter!”

Thousands of Spiritual Race warriors showed a bloodthirsty expression.

As a technologically advanced cosmic race in the Orion Arm, the Spiritual Race has been battling relentlessly in the endless cosmos for thousands of years, conquering tens of thousands of star systems, encountering countless wars, and thus developed a bloodthirsty nature.

These Spiritual Race warriors seldom had a chance to participate in annihilation battles due to their advanced technology, at most engaging in wrapping up operations after powerful weapons like gamma-ray burst cannons, giant cannons, or spiritual energy cannons have done their damage, finding it insufficiently thrilling to kill.

Now, with a chance to genuinely massacre Earth’s eight billion humans, these bloodthirsty warriors are naturally excited.

Commander Admiral Cardona also appeared very pleased, turning to a smiling aide beside him, saying, ”It seems this is going smoothly, with no hitches encountered.”

The aide, named Alzado, a rather old Spiritual Race individual, smiled, creating blossoms of wrinkles on his face, ”As long as that ’monster’ hasn’t risen from the dead, such a weak civilization can’t possibly stop our slaughter.”

Truth be told, there was a tiny bit of worry in Admiral Carona’s heart when leading hundreds of thousands of Spiritual Race warriors to Earth, fearing that the ’monster’ seen in previous videos wasn’t dead and might suddenly appear, as their fleet couldn’t withstand that.

Fortunately, our fleet above Australia scored an instant victory with one shot and didn’t encounter any resistance, nor did the ’monster’ emerge to defend the planet.

Even though Admiral Carona was quite frightened of that ’monster,’ seeing that we succeeded over in Australia, with no sightings of the ’monster,’ he was now confidently sure it was dead.

Thus, he began to pretend to be tough, boasting, ”Even if the ’monster’ isn’t dead, so what? If it dares to come, I’ll wipe it out!”

Alzado, knowing Carona was boasting, still flattered him, ”The General is absolutely right. Under your brilliant command, even if the ’monster’ isn’t dead, so what? It will be overrun by us all the same. You could say it was lucky to die to the gamma-ray burst; otherwise, we’d capture and experiment on it, putting it through endless torment!”

”Haha, right, right.” Admiral Carona, in a good mood, boasted a bit more before giving orders, ”Have the Ninth Ship prepare to fire the giant cannon and relay our battle report back to the mother ship to cheer up Commander Moras.”

Alzado promptly responded, ”Understood, I’ll relay the order now.”

Within the first Attack Ship, orders were sent out, preparing for the Ninth Attack Ship hovering over South Africa to fire the giant cannon.

Suddenly, a technician loudly announced, ”This low-civilization seems to have launched a counterattack. I’ve detected a primitive nuclear missile heading toward our cosmic battleship.”

Admiral Carona calmly replied, ”Our shields are up, let them attack. Continue relaying orders for the Ninth Attack Ship to fire the giant cannon!”

Utter disregard!

The Spiritual Race didn’t consider Earth’s nuclear weapons worth their notice.

Yes, they were that dismissive.

...

The stubborn netizens were waiting eagerly for a country to launch a nuclear missile counterattack.

In various nations, while some knelt and prayed for the Ancestors to intervene,

most hoped that major powers would unleash nuclear weaponry to destroy the alien warships.

In great anticipation, finally, Old Ugly presented Earth’s most powerful existing nuclear weapon—the B-41 nuclear bomb.

This is a large hydrogen bomb with a yield of 25 megatons, second only to the exploded Tsar Bomba.

Old Ugly had been hesitant to launch a nuclear attack due to an attack ship hovering over New York, fearing that even destroying the attack ship would cause massive destruction to New York. But with the devastation seen in Australia, Old Ugly realized if they didn’t destroy the attack ship in the sky, it was no longer a question of whether New York would be safe, but whether Old Ugly might be wiped off the map like Australia!

Therefore, reluctantly, Old Ugly finally used Earth’s most powerful nuclear weapon, launching a desperate attack on the first attack ship commanded by Admiral Carona, hoping to save all of humanity.

The enormous hydrogen bomb, upon launch from the missile silo, roared fiercely with a long, blazing tail across the sky.

The unbeatable radiance lit up all of North America’s night.

Countless netizens learned of it immediately, cheering one by one.

In their minds, as long as the hydrogen bomb hits the first attack ship, it will surely turn the tide!
